    I wanna try doing this with a DSLR, I want to ask my sister's bf if he could 3D print ...
    Literally just went and poked a hole in the body cap that my camera came with, been experimenting and GOSH IT'S SO COOL! I think I should have done a smaller hole because everything looks so out of focus 😭 but I'll still experiment with it. Thanks a ton for the inspiration, I've been meaning to do this for a while and I've finally done it!

      YAY!!! that souns super cool, well not the out of focus bit haha but that you can do that and getting images, good luck with the experiments!

    I made a Pin-hole camera when I was eight years old in 1955, it was my first camera of many since. In 2010 I bought a very nice wood & brass Pin-hole from a Seattle camera shop and shot quite a bit of 4x5 film with it for several years and occasionally I find a local subject I think might be a good subject for that format. Some of my Pin-hole captures back in the 50's are still some of my favorite all time captures.

      @Eclectachrome  Год назад

      oh wow, amazing! I'd love to start into larger formats with pinhole, 4x5 meaning. What did you make the camera from in the 50s?

    There is something very real about these photos. I wish I was more articulate

      I think I know what you mean...it's wierd because even though the black and white ones are blurry, somehow it seems more...something...idk haha

    4x5 pinhole is a lot of fun, you should give that a go sometime

      It's been on my mind 😊 do you develop at home?

      @@Eclectachrome It's been a while, but yeah. Getting sheetfilm developed is not super convenient anymore, although there are mail-in services.

    Loved both rolls. Granted, I haven't done a ton of pinhole, but I definitely think that leaning into it is the way to go (embrace and exploit everything that comes with pinhole, don't just try to make images the way that you would with a lens'd camera). Really enjoyed it!

      hey! thank you! everytime I think about it, I know there's a huge pinhole community, but it always seems not talked about enough! Would love to do more videos on it :)

      @@Eclectachrome I'm not into pinhole photography. I've never be able to find the...passion for it...I guess. I forget how much detail you can get with a good pinhole camera.

      it's amazingly sharp in the middle, but you have to like the vortex effect haha i love it, but yeah it depends on what grabs your interests! @@filmcamerajourneys

    What is that “U” shaped slot for on the back of the camera?

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  Год назад +1

      Filters!!

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  Год назад +3

      oh the back, its a holder for the film cardboard to remember what kind of film is loaded

    • @Tiki_Media
      @Tiki_Media Год назад

      @@Eclectachrome Okay, to be clear, I am referring to the light brown, raised slot that seems to have a channel cut into it, next to the camera body. You are saying that is for a filter? Do you mean that it is a storage spot for a filter that can be affixed to the front of the lens? I apologize if this is a redundant question, perhaps you have explained this in a video where you 3D printed the camera, but this is my first Eclectachrome channel video!

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  Год назад +1

      aw first one! welcome! haha no worries - so i should first say I got the camera from MIA pinhole cameras (link is in the description) who 3D prints them - the front of the camera has a large U shaped filter holder that can hold Cokin filters or similar, and the back of the camera has a small U shaped holder that could hold a torn off piece of the box the film came in so I can remember which film I'm shooting :) hope that helps! it's a really neat camera and even has a level built in! @@Tiki_Media
