You can riff this movie all you want, but it still has one of the best curtain lines of the franchise: "Second star to the right and straight on til morning." Always chokes me up.
(Upon seeing the Federation president) Me: Clarence Boddicker's doing all right for himself! That out of the way, the "lick me" part hade in stitches, along with "BACON?!?! YOU'RE NOT BACON!!!"
I wanted one of them to point out what terrible security that conference had. A bunch of senior citizens barrelled through the crowd and tackled the president of the Federation!
Not to mention his comedic work; 3rd Rock from the Sun, Boston Legal, Priceline, his parts in Airplane 2, etc. But I still contend he can handle drama very well, but only when a quality director is there to keep the "Shatner" side contained (see him directing himself in ST:V and you'll know what I mean).
scanning for Klingon blood of course, the assassin's walked through the blood globules & the blood got on the suits they were wearing. I've always been impressed at how well they depicted zero G in this movie.
:35-:39 "we interrupt this scene to bring you a pointless shot of the Enterprise" "President Snow Monkey is pissed" "what we are looking for is...in my pants" the whole "lick me" part had me cracking up! "move, im a celebrity and i have a gun"
@MugenJin2 Actually what WAS that scanner thing used for? They're looking through all the uniforms in that scene. Is it a fabric detector? I mean I know it's the future but that's an oddly specific thing for a starship to have.
And if you actually read Hamlet's soliloquy, with a modicum of understanding, it's quite obvious that "the undiscovered country" does not refer to "the future", it refers to death. Whoever wrote this movie keyed in on those three words and thought they sounded cool, I guess.
Very Funny this best of is LOL in the scene when Mike sings a la Leonard Nimoy it willl more hilarious if he would sing Leonard Nimoy's"Bilbo Baggins" song RLMAO! :)
Well Star Trek ain't exactly King Dinosaur either. It's definitely well on the higher end of the entertainment spectrum, certain odd-numbered sequels excused.
I love you guys. But Star Trek VI, to me, is not only one of the best Star Trek films, it's my favorite of the original 6. You can't honestly think that VI is a bad movie. Star Trek V, now that's a bad movie. But you've riffed that.
That's complete bullshit. Watch the monologue from Star Trek II (you can find it on movieCLIPS channel) titled "Old and Worn Out", then try to tell me he's a bad actor. He can be good, when restrained by a good director like Nicholas Meyer who always knew how to get the best takes out of him. That's why Star Trek II and VI are some of his best serious performances.
"...the undiscovered country..." from Hamlet's soliloquy does not refer to the future. It refers to death. It's quite clear, if you've actually read Shakespeare. Hamlet is in no way contemplating what might happen in the future of the nation of Denmark. He's contemplating the possibility that he will die. The title reference of this movie is COMPLETELY WRONG!
these guys are funny but I hate it when they slag off good films, they don't like scenes with too much dialogue, they find actions scenes boring, when are they ever happy?
Funny, because Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home holds a very positive 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. Star Trek VI, the movie unwisely being riffed here, holds an 83%. Star Trek: First Contact also holds a 92% (coincidentally one percentage above The Wrath of Khan) while the 2009 reboot holds a 95%. And frankly, it's that kind of patronizing yet uninformed attitude that really pisses me off about MST3K fans. Something isn't empirically bad just because you shrug it off.
'Mystery Science Theater 3000' was never that funny. SCTV at least wasn't trying to do something it knew it couldn't do- making a single person laugh, ever.
I just watched the entirely of TOS and have seen most of sctv and i can confirm that you sound like a stuck up example of dunning-kruger. There's being an intellectual and then There's pretentiousness and you sir sound like you think high and mighty of yourself because "i know of X therefore I'm better than you" Get a life - William Shatner
You can riff this movie all you want, but it still has one of the best curtain lines of the franchise: "Second star to the right and straight on til morning." Always chokes me up.
Kirk: I'll see you later. Chang: I'll keep an eye out for you.
This was an excellent Star Trek film IMO.
Agreed. Right up there with Wrath of Khan and First Contact
Agreed. Right up there with Wrath of Khan and First Contact
Agreed. Right up there with Wrath of Khan and First Contact
(I have no idea why this posted three times)
"He's gone into some kind of damned arrest!"
"And the solution is to fully mount him?!"
It’s not stupid if it works.
Some of Cliff Eidelmann's music cues are really good. He wrote music for Free Willy 3.
R.I.P. Christopher Plummer

One of the Best of the Star Trek Original Cast. Nice to be able to sit back and laugh at this now.
"Get a haircut, Hippie!"
The most amusing thing I have heard all day. Well done!
HA LOL now thats youtube commenting to the max XD LMAO!!
I think that would be what Red Foreman would say to the Federation President.
The song "Spock" sings at 10:37 is from Leonard Nimoy's album, "The Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy.
Yep. The song is called “Highly Illogical”, which is a fun song.
(Upon seeing the Federation president)
Me: Clarence Boddicker's doing all right for himself!
That out of the way, the "lick me" part hade in stitches, along with "BACON?!?! YOU'RE NOT BACON!!!"
"I've always wanted to try it"...sounds like a line out of "Sex in the City".....
Or Porky’s.
I wanted one of them to point out what terrible security that conference had. A bunch of senior citizens barrelled through the crowd and tackled the president of the Federation!
The Red Foreman jokes just about killed me.
"Isn't that the dad from That 70's Show?"
"You dumbass"
"I must consult Kelso and Fez"
Except Red would never consult Kelso. I think he was the only one of Eric's friends Red actually hated
I shouldn't have laughed as hard as I did at the lick me part.
Hey look @ 9:07 , the diplomatic talks are being held at the power rangers hideout !
YES! Oh! Oh God! Yes! I thought I was the only one that noticed!
"William Shatner live at Budokan"
"I...want...you...to...want...me"
“Is daughter Klingon for son?”
“Thank you Will Ferrell as James Lipton” 😂
9:41 everyone: oh no, Oh NO, OH NO!,

4:01 "Have we not heard-(Peter Griffin comes on, singing "Bird is the Word")
Not to mention his comedic work; 3rd Rock from the Sun, Boston Legal, Priceline, his parts in Airplane 2, etc. But I still contend he can handle drama very well, but only when a quality director is there to keep the "Shatner" side contained (see him directing himself in ST:V and you'll know what I mean).
I don’t know. Watching some of his obscure 70s stuff is entertaining mostly because of how “Shatner” Shatner gets.
"Um, thats the Sun....THE SUN..."
OMFG i cant stop laughing!!!
THAT IS THE DAD FROM THAT'S 70's SHOW
lol, Shatner is to acting what the McRib sandwich is to cuisine.
It’s tasty, at least.
Some of the insults directed at the bridge crew are so good, they offend me!
Thank you Will Ferrell as James Lipton!
02:23 I love that scene - Best shot of an old cruiser ever...
scanning for Klingon blood of course, the assassin's walked through the blood globules & the blood got on the suits they were wearing. I've always been impressed at how well they depicted zero G in this movie.
:35-:39
"we interrupt this scene to bring you a pointless shot of the Enterprise"

the whole "lick me" part had me cracking up!
"move, im a celebrity and i have a gun"
"...EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!"
A C+C Music Factory reference in the 21st century? I am officially an old man.
I love Gusher's Fruit Snacks!!
9:05 cracks me up everytime
@MugenJin2 Actually what WAS that scanner thing used for? They're looking through all the uniforms in that scene. Is it a fabric detector? I mean I know it's the future but that's an oddly specific thing for a starship to have.
I must consult Kelso and Fez!
"Dinosaurs! Probably Tea-Rex!"
And if you actually read Hamlet's soliloquy, with a modicum of understanding, it's quite obvious that "the undiscovered country" does not refer to "the future", it refers to death. Whoever wrote this movie keyed in on those three words and thought they sounded cool, I guess.
Heyyy, that's ALSO David Warner!
Hey at 1:09 I think that's the guy from To Kill a Mockingbird!
"I must consult Kelso and Fez!"
Ah General Chang, one of the best villains in star trek aside from Khan, Dukat, the Borg, that bug species that kicked the Borg's ass, Trelane, etc
And yes it is th dad from That 70s Show!!
spock spock spock spock spock spock
@Feckinpaddy29
Also Clarence Boddicker from Robocop.
- "Let us sit on the ground and tell sad stories..."
- "Oh shut up."
C&C!
To be fair, it is hard to out act yourself. It should always be a tie
Im ashamed yet unembarrassed to get the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory reference
Why? It’s a classic.
I must consult Kelso and Fez. HAHAHA!
@MugenJin2 "The discs are easy enough to find for sale...and they're getting cheap! I bought half of the collection new at $5 a movie.
Spooooooooooooock!
I can't believe you left out "you can't spell warrior without one eye"
Now I'll grant you that. The lives of these actors are typically a clown-car of petty drama...
9:05
Oh, good, the Power Rangers have been called in to save the day!
Uranus is also known as Kronos, also how you pronounce Q'on'os.
8 people don't trust Klingons and never will.

(03:23) We name it after the last good Star Trek movie
I also like the movie, but it was not past of the original "time line" (in a matter of speaking) it's a stand alone movie
Well Star Trek ain't exactly King Dinosaur either. It's definitely well on the higher end of the entertainment spectrum, certain odd-numbered sequels excused.
But this was a great movie. Yes, It's more of a drama than an action flick, but some of the greatest Trek stories are dramas.
Any movie can be riffed. Grow up and keep it moving 💯
You. Pilot. Ed. Well. Out. Of. Space. Dock. Lew. tenant.
Well Star Trek ain't exactly Citizen Kane lmao
😂👍
as if Star Trek has ever had any good movie exc II
I love you guys. But Star Trek VI, to me, is not only one of the best Star Trek films, it's my favorite of the original 6. You can't honestly think that VI is a bad movie. Star Trek V, now that's a bad movie. But you've riffed that.

Oh I love the movies. I'm a huge Star Trek fan. But they definitely open themselves to ridicule with their bad acting lol
1:09 thank you Donald Trump the 27th
I think they should stick to riffing bad movies.
Clearly not.
Why all this sulu hate :X
Disregard my last comment.
anything with shatner in it is a bad movie
"...the undiscovered country..." from Hamlet's soliloquy does not refer to the future. It refers to death. It's quite clear, if you've actually read Shakespeare. This still isn't as funny as any of the Mst3k ones
these guys are funny but I hate it when they slag off good films, they don't like scenes with too much dialogue, they find actions scenes boring, when are they ever happy?
It's called making fun of things for a living
Bring out that other guy!
