    1. Many of the suspects who say “when you look at my phone you’ll see…” seem to guilty because they are well aware of how phones can be used as evidence hence why Alex tried to cover his tracks so much with the texts and calls.
    2. He is a lawyer… he knows how all of this works. All he needs is for them to have a doubt that something different could have happened. And he knows how to lie so you can’t believe a thing that comes out of his mouth. He’s proved himself a liar to everyone around him including faking a hit on himself after the murders so why should anyone suddenly believe what he’s saying.
    3. He already knew the gun was supposedly stolen… when you throw in “lost” then it’s less of a big deal when it’s found in the woods somewhere near their property if he tossed it otw to his Mom’s that night. Idk to me it just seems like he’s trying to offer different scenarios and random tidbits when he was interviewed so that there’d be doubts about evidence when it comes to light. He’s even acting at the table with the lawyers to gain sympathy by crying and shaking his head no about not saying “I did him so wrong” - he knows everyone is looking at his creepy pasty self.

He did NOT say "I" did him so bad. You have to remember his southern accent and pronunciation of words. Some southern folks drop the initial "th" diphthong in the word "they." Instead, they pronounce it simply "ay." Also instead of saying "him" they'll say "eem." So it comes out "Ay did eem so bad." and THAT IS WHAT HE YOU'RE HEARING. The man may still be guilty. But he did NOT say "I did him so bad." He said "They did him so bad" in the typical southern pronunciation he has in his southern drawl.
