Hi Sandy, did you notice that carrots and bell pepper are both rich in sugars. Do you have any experience on how they compine with protein rich meals, like lentils? I may have had problems with carrots + lentils and have become very cautios about sweet vegetables as they may be closer to fruit. What is your experience on this?

This is so eye opening, we've been taught wrong since we were kids, at least in my country. They've always been campaigning about how a proper and balanced meal consists of (roughly translated?) "healthy 4, perfect 5" which are carbs, meat, vegetables, fruits for the healthy four and milk for the 'perfect' additional nutrition. Hence families have been making foods containing those combined in one meal, which is not exactly suitable.

Not only that there are so many RUclips shills pushing the opposite right now, saying only eat fruit after a meal and your sugary snacks to avoid sugar spikes. Yet many all over the world eat fruit first thing as breakfast incuding the famous Dr Sebi who they killed for healing so many. So its so hard for people to know which information to trust now, and those same people are saying not to eat leafy greens especially spinach as they say it's very bad for the gut, which i think they are exagerating to create fear of it. Certainly some are sensitive to it but there are many who aren't who recieve the benefits. The best thing is to test things out and to listen to our own bodies.
And i was so looking forward to my poached eggs on sourdough topped with garlic spinach, 🤦😆 yet i kept having the thought i should eat my poached eggs on a bed of salad as I'd heard this before but its just not quite so appetising. But i guess its all just habit and it only takes 9 times of trying something to adapt to the new way so i must give it a try 😊 as i trust this person i had to search and find the video for myself it wasnt pushed into my face by RUclips.
Id like to hear some breakfast brunch ideas. As i only eat 2 meals a day lunch and evening meal so would like some ideas. Does she recommend porridge as long as its not combined with fruit? What about millet which is very good for us? I like millet porridge in winter with avocado. But thats also a fryiti think 🤔

I followed this diet about 25 years ago using Doris Grants Book. I did it after an attack of Diverticulitis and prepared myself for surgery using this diet to maximise nutrition and enrrgy. I have never felt so alive in my life even though I had this condition. When I had the operation I was allowed out much sooner than was first thought because I healed so rapidly. Im going to try this again because I know Im having difficulty digesting food and my body and muscles ache. Im confident this will work again.

How to live to 150 by Michael Tombac
When he was a child his mum was a doctor yet he watched his father dying in front of them.
Hence he did not become a doctor but a scientist.
Really good advice in his book.
And thank you for describing this so well.
I keep watching your video to make sure I follow it right.
I only started eating this way about 5 days ago.
I had itchy eyes for the last 3 years or so and started to feel like something is wrong with my esophagus.
    They now cleared already.
The Somac tanlets I was taking were making me sick in many ways.

It looks like this will keep me healthy for many years to come.

I think u got it wrong about acidic and alkaline enzymes. In human Digestive system acidic enzymes like gastric acid are released in stomach and alkaline enzymes are released in small intestine. So it doesn't neutralize each other same time. In fact in India we eat rice with lentils which is starch and protein together. And it works well.

I was watching a video with Dr. Bickman who does insulin research. He showed the effects of of foods on insulin. Fat had a negligible effect on insulin. Protien had a higher effect but not extreme. Carbs had a higher effect than the other two. But when protien and carbs were combined, the insulin skyrocketed like there was a synergistic effect of the two. When I saw that, it reminded me of the food combining rules.

I was told eating the fruit by itself, though it has fiber, can still spike your blood sugar. Eating a protein balances it out vs eating the fruit alone. The same concept as peanut butter and crackers we give to diabetics when their sugar drops in the hospital. The peanut butter balances out the carbs. However fruit and certain meat proteins digested together, I heard was not good for your digestion. I saw that in another video. This was 5 years ago when I commented, so my diet was better then, I need to get back to it.

    • @ironiedusort

@@missb1982 Well simply avoid eating the fruit when it's too ripe. The riper the food the higher the sugar content. The longer foods are cooked once again the higher the sugar content. The order you eat food in also can prevent high blood spikes which is why I eat fats protein and carbs are last.Dr Jason Fung has a video on this.

I had human biochemistry for 2 Semesters now and what you are talking about is not completly wrong but also not really right...
You digest in an acid enviroment in your stromach, everything else in the bowels. An acid enviroment is not good for enzymes so no digestion in the stomach (only denaturisation of proteins, witch is more desinfections than anything else). So if you feel bloaded after your meel it has nothing to do with the combination of your meals. Fruid doesn't ferment in your body, that can only happen in your bowels, because there are no bacteria in your stomach that do that, and most pards of fruits is digested bevor it reaches your lower intesting. Carbons are already broken down in your by your salvia (polymere to dimere)

Personal experience is just a nice story to tell your friends at bars, not science.
Besides, the "texts of authorities" are what let us proceed and evolve like humans. If we threw away all the previous knowledge just because "it's authority", we'd be discovering the wheel again

@@undomiel466 Yeah! Go ahead... make-up stuff I didn't say to make your argument make sense! I never said that her perception can substitute for science, I said that SHE SAID that it works for her. I hav never tried it myself so I cannot say what it does firsthand, however...
Science is built upon the scientific method, which is based on testing experiments, which is a controlled EXPERIENCE!
      Shall I go on...?
You: (No science can be based on single experience.) AGREED! However, where does she indicate how many experiences she has had with these results? I didn't hear any mention of it... Did you?
You: (Personal experience is just a nice story to tell your friends at bars, not science). All experience is subjective and personal, this is why we use additional methods to verify the accuracy of the experience. That is the scientific method, but all knowledge is based on experience, if not then what you call "knowledge" is just hearsay but you don't actually know anything for yourself, personally.
You: (Besides, the "texts of authorities" are what let us proceed and evolve like humans.) You arogant fool.. Now look at the world and eamine how we proceed as humans. If you know anything of human potential then you will also know that we are failing and more savage than civilized as a society. A society built on the direction of authorities.
I am not suggesting that all authorities are wrong but to assume they are infallable is foolish and does not allow for new innovations to make old knowledge obsolete. Also, many athorities are controlled by the financial interests of others. Therefore the knowledge of many authorities is biased and incomplete. I do not blindly follow ANYTHING, I only want the truth... and I do not trust the worlds of any man as being such without proper evaluation.

But protein is mainly digested in stomach at pH 2...and carbs are mainly digested in mouth and small intestine...not sure i am correct...we have different enzymes esp in small intestine - our final process of digestion

    1. Eat fruit 30 mins b4 eating..this will make your body become alkaline.
    2. Take a pinch of salt with your baby finger and put it on "salty" section/receptor of your tongue. This prevent food poisoning.
    3. Eat more veggies than carb& protein. Train yourself to become a semi-vegetarian. Eat meat only once month of you want to stay healthy. Lesser animal legs/no legs at all is better. E.g. fish and chicken. Beef or mutton is hard to digest since it's got a lot of fat in it.
    4. Rule for your belly when eating. 1/3 for food, 1/3 for water & 1/3 for breath.
    5. Chew your food slowly. Best chewed 40x times. Help faster digestion. Feel more satisfied. Not easily hungry after eating.
    6. Don't lean back on chair while eating. Sit straight. Best is to sit on floor.
    7. Recite the dua' before eating or 'bismillah' for 'barokah'.
    8. Lick your fingers after finish eating. It will helps digestion and constipation. There are many enzymes at our fingers that will help our food to be digested faster.
Hope these tips help...they are all the sunnah of Rasulullah.

let me answer this like i have been taught in med school ..... protein digestion begins in the stomach by pepsin which acts in an acidic environment. Then the peptides moves to the small intestines, where it is acted upon by pancreatic enzymes (trypsin and chymotrypsin etc.) ...these enzymes require an alkaline environment and the bicarbonate required for that is also secreted by the pancreas. Ma'm pls correct urself. I highly appreciate the calorie count videos u posted. Thanks and Respect.

I suggest you do try it and go by your own results. What I wouldn't trust is the info received from traditional medicine because health and wellness ar in direct conflict with their financial interests.

Hi, yes it’s true that we all should be consuming a balanced diet. However to some people, if we were to include too much of starchy carbs in, it may interfere with your digestion. If you do experience that, then try to combine protein with leafy greens + non starchy veggies, you can always introduce some starch in small quantity and see how your body reacts. For me personally, some starch makes me feel bloated, but not all. So it’s about introducing and eliminating food. There isn’t one solid answer that fits everybody. I hope this helps 🙂

Im confused about beans, like pinto beans . Are they a stachy food or a protein? For example do i eat them like a protien with only non-starchy vegetables or can i eat beans and whole grain rice together, because they are both starchy?

I for sure wouldn’t do carrots with fish to starchy. Maybe salmon with spinach or leafy greens. Been doing Food combining off and on since 1992. Seen all kinds of different charts on this. I would do Broccoli and carrots with rice and olive oil or some other starch instead of the rice

Hello, thanks for your informative message. I’m 63 years old and am just starting on my journey in food combining. I have a question. I’ve also heard on another RUclips video that while it’s best to eat fruit alone when you’re young but when you get to middle age or older it’s best not to eat fruit alone but in a smoothie with leafy greens etc because as you get older your metabolism slows down and when you eat fruit the body just recognises it as sugar and you gain weight and it can cause diabetes. It was stated that having fruit in smoothies with leafy greens would slow the sugar spike. I don’t think it’s good to drink your food on a regular basis which one would have to do each morning if that were the case. Our food needs to be chewed. Can you please comment on my questions.

Doesn’t eating fruit alone, and eating carbs without protein, actually spike your insulin? I’m trying to get a clear idea of how to eat in a nourishing way and not spoke insulin, what do you advise?
