However, before we learn how to start a keto diet, we must develop a deeper understanding of what it is and why it is so effective. Knowing the what and why behind this way of eating plays an integral role in your keto diet success as well as knowing how to get started.

Low calorie density is key. When you eat a high carb, low fat diet, the weight falls off effortlessly. It doesn’t really take much discipline and determination at all, unless that’s what you consider eating an abundance of delicious whole, starchy plant foods. No calorie counting, no tracking macros, no weighing food and certainly no crazy exercise. It’s easy.

Don't need determination. I eat healthy carbs, love healthy carbs, eat healthy portion sizes and don't loose weight. If there is something that can make my digestive system and bladder work like they should, I would really love to know.

We ate field peas, butter beans and other carb vegetables, and legumes, and fruits. I still do. They have too many good nutrients to just toss them aside. I eat only 2 times a day. I don’t snack and my meals are very satisfying. I’m 60. I take no meds and have good check ups! I eat real, whole food!

I'm an endomorph, I was overweight and went on a paleo diet to lose weight and get healthier,
Cutting out carbs was the best decision I ever made,
After only one week carb free I lost 2kg, and my bloating went down.
I would eat sweet potato or rice whenever I crave some carbs (aka period days)
Carbs in Processed foods should be avoided, but apart from that, Healthy carbs are okay to consume

Wow. This might be the most informative video I've ever seen about carbs. I really appreciate this and believe all of this to be 100% true. I used to do low carb on and off for a few years and it did work and helped, but I developed food allergies that I didn't have before too, I noticed. Ever since I started eating carbs I feel better and my hormones seem to be a bit more leveled out. This is just my own personal experience. Tfs Joanna!

Elevated levels of insulin cause weight gain. Insulin is the Fat hormone. I am diabetic. I have been eating low carb for 3 mo & have lost 28 lbs & am almost off my insulin. I agree with most of this. Suggesting 2 bananas is not good at all for the normal person. Majority of Americans are not doing intense/extreme exercise. All that wiil do is cause an extreme spike in blood sugar. 1/2 a banana is more realistic. Grains (carbs from grains) yes, they were part of the diet but not in the processed form & in the high qtys as we do today. Becareful with that. All this from experience and results from a person on their way to reversing their diabetes FOR GOOD.

They use less meat in their dishes, are active no matter their age, and subscribe to "hara hachi bu" (eat until 80% full). They seem to have less stress too, as evidenced by their very slow driving. Not so sure I could ever subscribe to doing that 😂

I needed this video so bad. I was on Keto Twice I got a Keto Rash Twice. The first time I ate my carbs then ruined the whole diet. Then I thought I could start again. I got a rash on my chest back and face. That was it. I enjoy Keto BUT Keto messes up my skin. I miss my exercises too. After some time on Keto I lost the strength to exercise. I had to stop. Also my sweat when it touched my skin it increased the Rash and itchiness 😓. I have a very sensitive skin so I cannot afford to not eat carbs anymore. I just lost appetite for refined carbs now after going Keto. It kind of changed my mindset and feeling about carbs. So I will be adding some of these Healthy carbs in my diet. My favorite fruit used to be banana growing up in fact banana was the only fruit I ate well until someone said carbs are bad. I'm going back. I love sweet potatoes too soo soo much. Thank you for this Video. Thumbs Up👍👍

Kiwi fruit is also good for the same reasons. Kiwi is also completely edible.

Thanks Joanna! I learnt a lot in this video. I never knew soba noodles were so less in calories. I thought it was the same as any type of noodles. Therefore, I avoided eating that for a while .

I had to google what amaranth is called in Nepali. We did have amaranth’s leaves(lattey ko saag) similar to spinach... but don’t recall eating the seeds as grains.

Please don't try it. My sugar level was high I cut down on carbs and it went from 7.5 to 6 in 4 months of flooding 10kg, cutting down on and eliminating some carbs entirely and taking metfor6 500mg 2ce daily.
Please don't do the carb as sweet potatoes and especially banana.

If you're craving anything then that is a bad sign. These carbs are loaded with sugar and starches. A nightmare combination for insulin spiking. They may have nutrients, but they're not good for you.

I tried all the other keto diet programs and they just couldn't keep up with my needs. I don't know how they do it, but HyperKeto always has just the right meal plan for me. The moment I started following their plan, my weight loss goals were achieved much faster than I had anticipated. After only a month on their program, I lost 10kg

I went on keto low carb diet (30 grams of carbs a day) and my sugar level returned to normal but Lost muscle mass and encounted problems. I realize that there are healthy carbs and bad carbs. I now eat porrige or quiona for breakfast, and a little sweet potato, or pumkin as many days possible. I do stay away from white flour and make my own almond/coconut bread.....raw beans soaked and cooked to kill of the poisen lectins in the skin helps also sustain energy... But all this on moderation...Pop corn sometimes also better than pretsals...... cheers everyone, merry xmas.....

Very good information. Amaranth that you mention is a word from Sanskrit it means one gives long life. Also it is called Rajgira, king of grains. It has been used for thousands of years in India. You can buy it in Indian store for less price. These seeds u can plant at home. It’s greens are packed with nutrients. They sell in Indian grocery store called red leaves.

Beet root is very important also because it's good for those who have low blood level, specially for women during periods, and also if one gets exhausted easily without any respiratory problems., due to low blood levels.
