Jinjer have become one of my favourite bands in the last year or so. 4 musicians at the top of their game all contributing something different and special which come together to make an awesome sound.
Ne Obliviscaris is also another amazing band on top of their game. Haven't herd anyone execute something so complex do it well. Check out and plague flowers the kaleidoscope if you haven't heard of them.

@@chaoticoldbore Same here, seen them live 3x!! I agree, I haven't requested it from vocal coaches because its mainly a whole compositional piece where every instrument and vocals are essential to bring it all together.
I think what often gets overlooked when ever anyone listens to Jinjer it she can do this and its not even in her 1st language. I can hardly speak in my own language let alone speak, sing and enunciate in another. The few interviews i've seen she seemed to struggle with English a bit (mind they could be a few years old now and she could have greatly improved) she is so so talented.
Their performance of this song in Melbourne is jaw dropping. The outro, which already sounds amazing here, sounds almost effortless in that gig. Her voice is otherwordly.
The entire band has really noticeable jazz tendencies. Her singing voice is very rich and jazzy, the drummer has jazz fills all the way through, the bassist plays with fingers (no pick) just like any good session jazz bassist would, and the guitarist honestly seems like he can play pretty much anything. On top of that the difficult arrangements and time signatures scream session musicians all around. This is really an exceptional band, and Tatiana's growls are only the cherry on top!

As absolutely amazing in every aspect as Tatjana is, I think it would be unfair not to also stress the incredible musicianship of the other band members. Mind blowing. Haven't heard something like this ever.
Beth, you are a truly amazing at analyzing and recreating vocal sounds!! I wondered how well you would react to Jinjer’s unique sound, but you rocked!!
It's good to hear someone who is trained confirm and break down what my ears are hearing. She's an amazing talent. They all are. I'm enjoying your videos. Intelligent analysis without bullshit. I like your style. Keep up the good work!
I love Jinjer, seen them live 2 times already, always impressive, and Tatiana is such a lovely person ! I think you should react to the band Oceans of Slumber ("Sunlight" or "Winter" tracks) next, the singer has one of the most beautiful clear voice in metal today.
You ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO check out Jinjier's "Teacher, Teacher" (even if you don't do a reaction - do yourself a favor and listen to it). The vocal range, number of different singing styles and fast switching between the styles is completely off the rails on that one. It may not be my favorite song of the band, but in my opinion, it is clearly one of the most complicated and diverse songs they ever made.
There’s a few a vocal coach reaction channels now, but I’ve found you are probably the best of what I’ve seen for actual technical explanations. Thanks Beth keep it up, it’s great 👍

Jinjer and the singer is one of the best and creative metalbands out there, I myself comes from a jazz/fusion electrofunk background,..but recently i got totaly consumed by Metal and has started to play guitar,..for real,...Jinjer, Devin Townsend, and Mesugga,..Rob Scallon,...is some bands that got me into it,..
you hit the nail on the head with regards to the jazzy feel... Jinjer is heavily influenced with jazz with the employment of a lot of jazz riffs in the music as well as some of the vocals. it's a breath of fresh air to see a vocal teacher appreciate what Tatiana can do vocally. 😎😎
A university did a study on "metal vocals" and they used an endoscope (a small tube with a light and a camera on it). They found that the vocal folds don't contact each other when frye singing/screaming and that is why this vocal technique does not generally cause vocal 'problems' through time! It is when the vocal folds continually slap against each other that scar tissue/cysts/nodes can occur so proper technique is a KEY!
A think that I like so much about jinjer is that Tatiana doesn't overuse the screams and growls, because it tires me after a wile. But the combination is very nice. ^^ And only through your explanations and observations can I really appreciate her singing to the fullest :)

When the bass guitar is held at nipple height, you know you are in for something impressive. I especially love the tone of the snare on this particular recording; although it is a little on the loud side, it is a great tone.
You're my second favorite Ginger after Jinjer😬. way to stand out from rest of the RUclipsrs, Great job! Now you have to Do ( pretty please ) Teacher, Teacher! And then Perennial two of the Latest Jinjer songs.
Another Jinjer song worthy of vocal analysis is "Teacher Teacher". They've just released a new music video for it compiled from various live shows. The song is kind of built around the structure of the lyrics and she uses so many vocal styles throughout the song to match each lyrical section including a really beautiful section towards the end that builds up and shows her range.
1:44 Beth, this is why I decided to watch all your Metal Reactions in chronological order and make a playlist of them! There are actually plenty of those videos I've not seen, having watched this channel rather irregularly for maybe about 6 to 8 months? I'm not sure. You really sound like you understand the basics of metal screaming techniques. I think a lot of people would be happy to see you try to do it in a video sometime. 😊 who knows, you might be a natural at it! I didnt understand it at all when i first started and am very lucky my throat is not in the morgue. It took me about 10 years of playing around before it actually clicked with me and i figured out how to do it correctly. I dont think i will ever sound quite as amazing as her though!
Hi Beth! Not sure if you read all the comments but... I'll start by saying that Jinjer has rocketed to become one of my top 5 favorite bands. Tatiana has alot to do with it but the entire band is just awesome. I just wanted to say that you noticing alot of jazz influence in her vocals is very interesting. I saw an interview with Tatiana where she said her favorite singer is/was Amy Winehouse. Maybe that has something to do with the jazzy things you're hearing... Thanks for the great reviews! Love your vids!!
The whole Queen of time album man... Amorphis have been this weirdly consistently damn good band forever now, but Queen of time just seems to have been them pushing beyond damn good to excellent. The last album of theirs that really stood out to me was skyforger, which was almost just perfecting draconian times era paradise lost, but so much better than that sounds. And then Queen of time is just exceptional from start to finish. And the bee is just such a cool intro. Almost overwhelming. And tomi is an incredible vocalist. Saw them live last week in London UK, and he was just album perfect start to finish. Damn they were great. So glad I got to see them. Massive shame jinjer cancelled
matthew godding I got to see them in Munich and it was the first time I heard of Jinjer. So I actually enjoyed 2 bands that evening, wasn‘t overwhelmed by Soilwork and the first band. But I was quite sad that Amorphis only played one old song.
Really enjoy your analysis! Would really love to see you listen to Karise Eden, winner of The Voice Australia 2012, who in my opinion embodies Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse and Adele in one person, just even better. Check out her audition "This is a men`s world" with the fastest chair turning ever, "Hallelujah" or "Stay with me, baby".
My friends and I were at the festival where this show was recorded. We wanted to see Jinjer, but didn't want to wait for almost 10 hours (cause nothing interesting else was playing on that day). Damn, I wish we would've waited

Wow. Positive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and respectful. Really interesting reactions - thank you!
I now appreciate her voice even more! Great video as always!
The best "jinjer reaction". And Beth is the best. So mastery, so charm👍
1:44 Beth, this is why I decided to watch all your Metal Reactions in chronological order and make a playlist of them! There are actually plenty of those videos I've not seen, having watched this channel rather irregularly for maybe about 6 to 8 months? I'm not sure. It's fantastic seeing someone who knows their field go through the Metal Journey \\m//
Yay! This video is blowing up!! Awesome analysis!
Love the rhythm of this song
I learn so much from Beth, stuff about some of my favorite bands and about singing that I never thought I'd ever know.
Definitely need to do some Opeth. My recommendations: "Ghost of Perdition" (live Red Rocks), "Harlequin Forest" (live Royal Albert Hall), or "The Drapery Falls" (live Royal Albert Hall)
Oooooouh the drapery falls 🤤
Beth please react to jinjer perennial its their latest song from there ep known as micro but check the official video for the song its a masterpiece by JINJER
I love how you've become a full blown Tatiana fan now. ONE OF US
You really sound like you understand the basics of metal screaming techniques.
I only found out about them a couple of weeks ago and I am obsessed. I cant wait to see them live.
The music video for this song won a lot of awards. Worth checking out.
You're the first person to actually for real dissect the vocals.
I truly hope you enjoyed this.
I'll subscribe to you because you're the first one I've seen who actually analyzed her "normal' voice.
On that note, I needs to rewind.
Good God even when the video corrupts the sound she sounds good. You too.
That cutting twang you have it too!
I've heard OF Jinjer but never listened until now. This is fantastic, not at all what I expected!
She has so many voices, it's something special. You should check out Perennial too.
Some of the most honest vocal reactions I've seen.
More Jinjer reaction please !!!!!!
"Teacher Teacher" (live), is a Jinjer must.
I love your insight and I've become obsessed with this band.
I'm so happy that I'm going to Jinjer concert in June :D
Love Jinjer and Love your Videos^^
Ah so glad to see you react to this one! This and Perennial are their best songs, in my opinion! 🤘
Miss Beth, thank you for telling and analysing her voice techniques, and btw, welcome to jinjer family😁
Check out Tomi Joutsen from Amorphis, his mix of growls and clean vocals are just incredible. The Bee might be best example.
Veli-Petteri Tervonen I second this!
Yep, that's a good one! Finding a good live version can be tricky
Tatiana is just....everything 😍😍😍
Beth, I love your reactions to metal singers, and you are adorable! Please keep them coming!
My friends and I were at the festival where this show was recorded. We wanted to see Jinjer, but didn't want to wait for almost 10 hours (cause nothing interesting else was playing on that day). Damn, I wish we would've waited
Yeah they were the secret headliner of summerbreeze 2018.... Massive amount of people at the camel stage and amazing performance
“ Teacher teacher “ would have been a better one for you. This is a good one for bass players with the two handed technique.
*Loved her reaction*
