Mikael Åkerfledt is really good with audience. Last time when I went to the Opeth concert, he stated that Finland is much better on ice hockey than Sweden. We all agreed, naturally :)

Steven wilson is a genius, great musician, talented lyricist. He isnt like mikael though, you know singing with those beautiful vibrato or anything like that. But steven is a great singer,he has a distinctive voice. And porcupine tree, people often call them the modern version of pink floyd. They are very progressive and experimental rock band. I'm glad you liked it but this was the first live album where I said to myself, "WTF is wrong with his growls?!" He's even commented himself that the growls sounded bad in this show, and he chalked it up to the fact that the was the first time he performed with in-ear monitors. There are performances both before and after this where his distorted vocals sound like a force of nature. You just heard Mikael Akerfeldt at his worst, at least in terms of their professional live recordings. Still, glad you liked it. Next time, pick a better show or an album cut. You'll be blown away.

Having a album cut is often compared with picking the cherries of his performances. Also, as vocal coach, you need the posture of the performer, to see, if there is something wrong with the instrument. Sure, sometimes you need to take a guess. (hearing, were the tone sits.)
