- We recently audited outside this Lutheran based church from the public sidewalk. We had a few interactions while here documenting. The first was a couple leaving the parking lot, when the driver thought it was unusual what we were doing, so he decided to pull out his phone to document us before driving off. Our 2nd encounter was from another couple . The woman identified herself as the youth coordinator/director who actually extended an invitation to join. Her partner, who looks like Steve Wilkos (former security on The Jerry Springer Show) initially said nothing during this encounter. However the tone changes rather quickly , when Steve Wilkos look-a-like returned with an older member of the church , who asked if we were aware that it was a church & preschool that we were documenting...The preschool was over to the right in the background of where we were standing & at no time documented any children. after a few minutes of back and forth conversation , the two returned inside where I could see them gathering as a group by the front door. About 10 minutes later, police made an appearance on scene & proceeded to have a brief discussion with the group by the front door. The officer then returned to his patrol vehicle & exited the parking lot without making contact with us. We ultimatly gave the officer a pass for how he handled to situation & a fail the whoever called police.

I'm not sure why people believe when kids are around you automatically lose your rights. I have a kid and if I do not want her to be recorded by a random person I will walk the other direction. It's none of my business.
The Karens and Darens want not to be filmed. So they involve the kids story into it to let you stop filming. Very low behavior and it will not work, if you stand your ground that is. 😂

I grew up as Lutheran, in fact my father was the pastor, these church members are wrong in their thinking. There is freedom of religion as well the freedom of press, both need to be allowed.

I've seen too many of these videos where "the law" came and put innocent videographers in cuffs and put them in jail. Some have had charges dropped, some have been acquitted and some have been found guilty. For refusing to ID or leave a public space when "ordered" to. Sometimes, the very first action of the first cop to arrive is to cuff the person with the camera, based solely on the narrative of the 9-1-1 call. Hell, Furry was shot while standing on a public sidewalk by a security guard who was INSIDE the security fence of a religious school. The DA refused to prosecute. I've seen ALL of that play out on various 1AA channels.

Remember that "unusual" was the excuse given to detain and violate Pink Camera by the Cook county Sargent. The lawyer asked her if she would detain and cuff a Mormon because they can be unusual in some parts of the country.

The irony of it all. How many priests have been busted for crimes against children? A LOT! But a couple of random people recording in public is creepy, yet leaving your children alone with people you should but can’t trust happens on a massive scale and they think nothing of it

I was watching a Long Island Audit video. A woman walked up to the camera and accused him of being a terrorist because of the camera. She said, the camera freaked her out. Gave me an idea. We need two people to record. One records the other "auditor". The other walks around holding up a clip board, or bicycle wheel, or two liter bottle of coca-cola like its a camera. Need to capture peoples' reactions to things other than a camera to prove they go crazy over anything.
All cops should be like that one. Because that one has a brain.

The auditors said early on that they had a traditional service at 8:30 AM, followed by this contemporary service. Many churches do this to appeal to and possibly reach a broader audience, particularly the younger generation who tend to be less formal.

As a Christian I’m ashamed of these people and as a American I’m disgusted that they don’t know the first amendment.
Back in prehistoric times when I was younger wearing shorts and tees to church was not acceptable or normal. Casual has gone way too far.
When I was a teen in the 80s, we couldn’t even go to choir practice on Monday evenings without wearing a dress!

When in doubt, work in something about filming children.
Very good job there guys! One thing I have been mentioning to auditors is.....if I were an auditor I would get the cops name and badge#. Then my next audit would be that police station and file a compliment for that officer who upheld the constitution. In that way the word likely would spread around to other officers who may not be enlightened to the law.
The old man did know it was not illegal so in order to have HIS way he brought up the pre-school, which to me immediately raises a red flag about his character.

You and your auditing partner should not speak at the same time. Makes you seem ill-prepared and emotional instead of thoughtful and pragmatic. You have the law on your side, don't come across as panicked or they won't listen to your message or take you seriously. They are panicking, and your response seems to be to panic as well.

It might just be my jaded look on things, but that youth director wasn’t being nice. She was being condescending. Inviting you in gives her some sort of perceived power over you to invite you to a place that she thinks you don’t belong. She’s a mild sociopath.
