I prefer an square gate (even though I play gief) but I'm glad you guys are covering this. I think the hayabusa is the best stick ever made for fighters.
Fuck I'm too late...I just bought a sanwa octagonal gate and I just drilled some holes to fit the Hayabusa stick, well at least it works great

Another option for a long lasting gate is a custom cover for your Hayabusa that allows you to install Sanwa inserts, so it even extends to circle. I purchased mine from Paradise Arcade Shop and it works great.
I don't know why but that miniature black table makes me laugh. We have two big dudes in the frame with a tinnie tiny table. It's just funny to look at.

The Hori was my first love and my baby, the TE2 is my competitive stick. It has better input response so I use the Ryu edition with a Octagate JLF and Hayabusa buttons low profile.

haha ur first love is always the hardest to let go as they say . i have the same te2+ lucky enough to get it on day of launch but i am a uk player a minority. im waiting to mod it till sagat or evil ryu r realised on sf5 as they are my mains . i think the odds on either appearing are very slim 🤔.So it my have to be akuma artwork .
I just bought the Seimitsu LS-62 you guys should try it takes the best from the LS-32 and LS-56 basically a Hybrid Seimitsu. It also has micro switches with the metal layer like the Cherri Micros witches.

Recently got my first fighstick, a TE2, and I'm loving it so far. Though I did also pick up an octangle gate, since I feel like it gives more feedback and makes it easier for me perform certain moves.

The hori action is so tight that it makes very little difference which gate you use.
I want one. Not that I'm worried about gate itself, but the I feel that old one grinds actuator so much. Now I have to hope that one store in UK get's these on stock...

You guys said that the ultimate test is time it's been well over 6 months now how well has the kowal held up? would appreciate the feed back since I own a rap 4 and I'm going to be ordering the same gate from focus attack I see they gave the 2016 model up for sale
I'm looking to change sticks all together which do you think has more responsiveness. They hayabusa looks solid but the seimitsu has a credibility.

Hey great show Guy's please make a review on this Octopus gate i've been looking for one for awhile now for one that work's perfectly for me i'm more like Tj here i'm very heavy handed too lol oh ps what do u think i should do to my Hori Rap4 KOF ed stick
i was having the same exact issue with the first kowal octa gate after months of use was that my quarter and half circle forwards motions from left side of the screen was getting missed inputs and when I would try low forward hit confirm into super (3rd strike) I would get a DP instead of super so I took the stick (hayabusa stick) out to inspect and had a paper towel to clean the gate and it was just black dust from the gate wearing all over. But since I cleaned and replaced inputs are back again!!
I noticed tj combo using the rap4 to play killer instinct .....maybe brook converter review next?

i ordered the xbox 360/xbox one to ps4 brook converter i wanted to see the pros and cons of it...was going to get a cronusmax one but i heard it damages the usb ports

Guys I recently got a sanwa stick but no 5 pin harness. Can I use a soldering gun to solder the sanwa microwsitches or do I really need to use the 5 pin connector thing?

Look. There is a property in matter called “hardness.” Harder matter breaks more easily than softer matter, however, harder matter scratches softer matter.
Google “Diamonds” (not the song).
Anyhow - An *acrylic* *restrictor* *gate* will eat away an actuator, UNLESS they are either the same or a softer material OR are engineered in a way that reduces their friction which is how Sanwa made their octo gate, if you look at its inside (OR, if you wanna get really picky, have some constant lubrication on it).
The shavings described in this video from the old Kowal model are most likely from THE ACTUATOR being torn apart.
