I wish you had made this video when I was in my twa phase. I wish I manipulated my hair less, & stopped worrying about length so much. It would've really saved me the time, energy, disappointment and hair loss. I'm at an awkward length now (somewhere between short & medium length) and I literally can't do anything with my hair but that's okay. I'll figure it out.

Also you might not be doing things that retain length. Doing hairstyles and looking after the health of your hair are two different processes and two different sets of products.

Chazz is the reason I started using one and I have medium/ long hair and that's the only thing I use to brush my hair. I recommend the Baby Bliss shampoo brush. you can get it at Sally's for 99 cents.

When I first went natural I used to watch any natural hair videos, but after you said in a video that if you have a type 4 hair texture you need to watch someone with your hair type, my hair FLOURISHED! I took your advice about not forcing your hair into a puff and now I can do it with ease! so thank you so much for really staying true and honest about how to manage your hair with this hair type

I've been keeping up with your videos but I wasn't subscribed! What the HECK! Anyway, I started watching you 2 months after I chopped my hair off and your guidance has truly been a blessing. I used SO many products when I started out to try and make my hair appear more "curly" till you taught me how to embrace my kinky coily hair. Now I only use like one product to style my hair with my trusty water bottle and some oil, and my hair is completely happy. I'm a year in and in the short hair phase, hair is starting fall in the front and sides :D

Lol, I don't like spray leave ins either. The first one I tried was the Carol's Daughter black vanilla. It did absolutely nothing. Thicker leave ins work better for me. I currently use the JBCO leave in from Shea Moisture and the pomegranate and honey from Mielle.

I felt the same way about all spray leave ins, but when your hair get super long, you will find the need to revisit them. Please mark my words. Obia has one of the best spray leave ins I have used to date. I started needing them for mid-week refreshing twist outs for my waist length type 4 hair. That and a sealer like jojoba oil or a butter. Hopefully this was helpful. Peace and love.

This video really spoke to me! I’ve always had hair challenges even with having a hair stylist as a mom. This is my second time around growing my natural hair out. I got it to medium length the first time but there was so much breakage bc I didn’t master moisturizing my 4C low porosity hair 💔. Now, I have learned patience and dedication... I’ve kept it as a buzz cut to a twa to a style repeatedly for years and now it’s time to give growth a real try. You have just become my natural hair big sister 💕. Thank you for your videos!

I love your videos so much!! My favorite tip was when you said not to worry about length. I believe whatever length yr hair is in, just embrace it and love it. I catch myself wanting my hair to be longer (I think I'm in the twa phase, hard to tell with my shrinkage...) but then I have to remind myself that this hair is beautiful no matter what length it's at. I buy my oils from the grocery store, not beauty supply store.
I think length is very subjective. I would consider shoulder length hair to be average length hair, since that is the length most people are at. Whilst some consider is to be long.
Agreed, it’s very important to limit manipulation when your hair is shorter ( if one is seeking to have long hair, in the shortest amount of time).
I wish that there was an audiobook for “The Wait”. I just don’t have the time to sit and read.

Shoulder length hair is average hair. It’s in between short and long. Some people may consider it long but it is not long. Long hair is long hair.
