I think there needs to be a show (kind of likr project runway) where they give contestants a bag of thrifted stuff and they have to make something out of it. I'd watch it.
+Madi Mercer Well to be fair, we don't see the mistakes, only the successes. She's an experienced sewer, so I'm sure she doesn't have as many mistakes as most, but still, making mistakes is part of the prices :)
hah i had the same exact reaction. i thought the original dress was already a solid dress but when it was finished i literally said wow thats beautiful
Hi, I doubt you'll ever read this, but I wanted you to know that all of these videos have inspired me to alter thrift shop clothes to make into cosplays. Cosplays that were once ridiculously expensive are completely affordable with some hard work, and you really are my idol when it comes to designers. You've shown that it doesn't have to be expensive to be beautiful.
She actually got an email in the pass asking if she wanted to be a part of project runaway but back then she said she wasn't ready yet hopefully she can be part of project runway in the future.
I really wanted to thank you!!! I found your channel randomly, it popped up in the suggestions, and i'm so glad!! I'm from belgium, and in high school i choose to take a "sewing class" option for 3 years (yes it's a thing :p)... i'm now 22 and studying psychology, but seeing your videos made me so happy, so inspired and so relaxed, that i took out my machine and transformed a dress that was not longer fitting me into a skirt today :-) i forgot how much i loved sewing, i don't think about anything else while i'm doing it, so thank you :-) you're super talented, and you share your passion really well :-)
Whoa, ur the 2nd or 3rd person I've heard say tht they liked fashion design/sewing, but they ended up going to school for psychology. It's interesting, because that's also me, but I just started. 😃😃
agentkelli93 Good luck into psychology! :) i hesitated a little, but i really wanted to explore psychology, i really love it now so it was a good choice :D maybe it's because the two are a little bit connected ? i'm doing my "end of studies thesis" (i don't know the exact word in english) about the psychological impact of the clothes, the makeup, women wear.. i hope i can some day connect the two universe! :)
I am so glad that I found your channel. I have always been interested in sewing but never really accomplished much. Watching your videos have given that desire back and I am now 61 :) And also I now have the time. You have already taught me things about sewing that I did not know. So thank you April (sew sew) much :) Also you look great in this beautiful transformed black dress. Blessing!
how are you not a world known fashion designer??? honestly I don't think there has been a Thrifted Transformations episode I haven't liked. I wish I could make masterpieces like this... I have a sewing machine, just no time or patience. but dang, id wear this dress to prom in a heartbeat.
I just found your channel yesterday, and OMG. I'm obsessed. Your talent/creativity is so inspiring! Seriously, you make me want to buy a sewing machine lol. Are you in fashion design school, or are you self-taught? xx
ngl i had my doubts because it seemed like there was too much going on, but then when the dress was finished i was like WHAT KIND OF ETHEREAL DISNEY PRINCESS WITCHCRAFT IS THIS. x
You should get your own custom clothing labels made and add them to your creations when they're complete! Your transformations are downright amazing and I think adding something like your own label to the end product would be the perfect finishing touch to round off the transformation process with!
people are saying 'you made it look so easy it made me want a sewing machine too!!!' but i still cannot wrap it around my head how you could do all these honestly. it seems like a lot of effort & theres a lot if thing to do and pay attention to... the upgrade designs you made are so great too, you have my high respect :'0
I honestly don't understand half of the terms you use and explanations you give but I still watch every second of every episode because it's so fascinating to watch you work, the clothes you produce are beyond phenomenal and I'm seriously so inspired to learn how to design, sew and create clothes after watching these
I love the outcome! It's truly magical and elegant. The original dress is also very pretty in my opinion, it would have made a great thrift buy simply on its own!
I am 52 and have been doing stuff like this for a very long time , but you have way more skills than I do and I agree with everyone else, YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR OWN SHOW!!!! I love watching your videos. My favorite things to do is to buy items for $1.00 and remake them into something way more trendy and cool. You should do a dollar challenge!!
wow I've been subscribed for a long long time and you've gotten better and better and better and I'm just so amazed at how creative and amazing you are at what you do!!
April, it's very inspiring to watch a person who's really enjoying his hobby. Love to see all the transformations, how you play with materials giving them another beautiful life 🙂 Much love, don't stop ever making tutorials! 😘
LOVE IT❤️ I always ADORE her transformations and always want the transformed clothes so much but i can't sew and don't have the equipment and time to learn 😭 plus I'd need to find similar styles of clothing to make them and I'm not sure I can
You are soooo talented. I've been binge watching your vidoes recently. I agree with the top comment. You need a TV show of your own! You not only sew great but have such clever original ideas for what you want the clothing to be transformed into!
I just found your channel recently, and I love it! I never realized the things you could do with old clothing. It makes me regret not paying more attention to sewing class in school.
My mum and I made something like this but I added a gorgeous button on the front so that, for practicality, you can button the finger loops on your front if they're getting in the way
Wow! At first I thought the original dress was a nice design and then I was amazed and impressed at the improvements you made. The bodice design in the front was eye-catching and I love how you did the criss-cross ties down the back to complement the design.
April, I found your channel two days ago and watched ALL your thrifted transformations at once ,but WOW! This might be my favorite one of them all! You are very talented. I can't wait to see what you do next!
you should be designing celebrity clothes right now and get paid a lot, live in a mansion and live ur life to the fullest. bcs gurl u deserve so much for so much talent. ur not only super smart at ur skill but you demonstrate these techniques very well and that means ur a great teacher. youre just.. great. holyshit. tbh fuck those lame diy beauty gurus with shitty life hacks and stuff we all know it sucks. we need more people like you.
Idk how RUclips suggested your videos to watch, but I'm SO HAPPY THEY DID!!!!! I love your transformation videos. I can't get over how smart and creative you are. You need to be on project runway.
wow, so pretty!!!! Yeah, you made it so trendy and fabulous!!! I hope I could wear something like that!!! IS that dress design fitted for everyone??? Like the chubby types or just her body type...
It should definitely look good on all body types. As a curvy women, I would suggest starting the skirt part of the dress at the thinnest part of your waist or above the love handles. That would give a more slimming effect.
amazing transformation, when I saw the original dress, I thought dress was very nice why u want to transform it, but I was amazed when I saw the final product. u r super talented..
Anne bruh . I didn't even say anything about how that dress is terrible . I meant that it's so chic and usually people would be sad at funerals but Melanie prob married him for money
you absolute SLAYED this look April!! and that runway walk was fierce! (snap snap) I've been a fan for a couple of years now and I'm happy to have witnessed how confident you've become. keep up the great work!
What? She does this for herself, so she enjoys the clothes she makes for herself. She's not a supermodel, she's petite and you can't blame her for that. She says she makes it fit her body, anyone can alter clothes with that specification.
+Ash Bucket Creates I don't blame her for anything. It's just easier to alter clothes for super skinny and sexy woman. It's a fact. Also most of her work makes clothes more sexy. And nothing bad with that. Any master should like the challenge. It's way harder to alter clothes for somebody size12-16. So the rust would be more rewarding. It's good for her skills. Also would be really good for her channel. It could appeal to more people. I'm giving good advice
yea but what would be the use in her altering things when they wont fit her anymore. its not hart to alter dresses on bigger and curvier people you simply need more fabric and if you don't find whatever she makes fitting for that type of body then do something else with it or don't even buy it. i dont have a supermodel figure but i would much rather watch her sew something she likes and wants to wear than constantly doing stuff that isn't for her and probably getting bored of it
Yes, You must have a "curvier" friend? That would love a dress or coat. Also how about some matching accessories. I loved the cream dress with the 3-d flowers and thought, the scraps would have made a upper cute purse.
One of my favorite thrifted transformations so far!! Your design is absolutely gorgeous and you have definitely inspired me! I'm going to major in apparel and textiles next fall and my goal is to refine my skills and make creations as beautiful as yours. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.
OMG! You made an awesome transformation!!!! I want that dress!!!! Thank you for opening our eyes to the possibilities of refashion!!!! Kisses from Portugal!
Amazing! I did this kind of project for my wedding. An older friend gave me her early-1990s poofy silk dupioni wedding dress, and I turned it into a very simple 1950s style reception dress. But I don't think I have even a fraction of the creativity involved in your project. Impressive!

I couldn't agree more!!!!! love love her work! VERY TALENTED!
RIGHT NOW I SAY!!!!!!📣📣📣📣🔊🔊🔊🔊📺📺📺📺📡📡📡📡
I think there needs to be a show (kind of likr project runway) where they give contestants a bag of thrifted stuff and they have to make something out of it. I'd watch it.

+Madi Mercer Well to be fair, we don't see the mistakes, only the successes. She's an experienced sewer, so I'm sure she doesn't have as many mistakes as most, but still, making mistakes is part of the prices :)
Same
hah i had the same exact reaction. i thought the original dress was already a solid dress but when it was finished i literally said wow thats beautiful

LOL truth!

I really wanted to thank you!!! I found your channel randomly, it popped up in the suggestions, and i'm so glad!! Same with me! I found Coolirpa two days ago and now I´m transforming old shirt from my aunt :D Greetings from Czech republic!
Whoa, ur the 2nd or 3rd person I've heard say tht they liked fashion design/sewing, but they ended up going to school for psychology. It's interesting, because that's also me, but I just started. 😃😃
Marketa Bartosova Aah she's inspiring us all around the world! :) I'm sure the shirt of your aunt now look fantastic! :)
agentkelli93 Good luck into psychology! :)
Thanks! I think they are somewhat connected, too. :) I think you mean your senior thesis or dissertation. Your topic sounds interesting! Good luck! :D

That would be such a pretty prom dress. She should be on project runway
She could literally turn black plastic garbage bag into a Givenchy dress 😍😍
You should get your own custom clothing labels made and add them to your creations when they're complete! Your transformations are downright amazing and I think adding something like your own label to the end product would be the perfect finishing touch to round off the transformation process with!

At first i thought you shouldn't ruin the dress cause it looks great but after you finished.......i'm just..........WOW.
I just found your channel recently, and I love it! I never realized the things you could do with old clothing. It makes me regret not paying more attention to sewing class in school.

I would love to see a little wardrobe tour, or your favorite items
The finished dress is absolutely stunning. It's so classy!
WOW - just brilliant as always!
You should really have your own line of clothing, as you come up with such amazing design ideas : )
April, I found your channel two days ago and watched ALL your thrifted transformations at once ,but WOW! This might be my favorite one of them all! You are very talented. I can't wait to see what you do next!

+Anna Marie Salvatore hello!!
I can't sew a straight line but I LOVE watching your videos. I'm mesmerized by your sheer talent!
You should open your own shop !!
I'm so impressed. Really unique idea for a video series. Must be satisfying to wear it knowing you've modified it yourself.
You would make an amezing cosplayer

That's the kind o dress Donald trumps wife would wear when he dies
Anne bruh . I didn't even say anything about how that dress is terrible . I meant that it's so chic and usually people would be sad at funerals but Melanie prob married him for money
you absolute SLAYED this look April!! and that runway walk was fierce! (snap snap)
I've been a fan for a couple of years now and I'm happy to have witnessed how confident you've become. keep up the great work!
You're super talented. But for a change do project not on body of supermodel. Everything looks good on you
Good point!

Can I be your apprentice, please? =P
This dress is absolutely gorgeous on you! Although I am terrible at sewing, I love watching your videos as inspiration for artwork!!
OMG! You made an awesome transformation!!!! I want that dress!!!!
Thank you for opening our eyes to the possibilities of refashion!!!!
Kisses from Portugal!
Tthis is by FAR my favorite transformation yet!! It's simply gorgeous 😍
I cannot believe how talented you are! The dress looks like a million bucks!
This is a stunning transformation. I love the finished product.
I love the dress, both before and after. The second one looks so nice with the flowing skirt, though!
I've seen every episode, and this is my favorite by far! Gorgeous.
Awww! This is the cutest and my favorite dress transformation.
Amazing! I did this kind of project for my wedding. An older friend gave me her early-1990s poofy silk dupioni wedding dress, and I turned it into a very simple 1950s style reception dress. But I don't think I have even a fraction of the creativity involved in your project. Impressive!
