Making the magic transformation dress from Westworld

- The process of creating that amazing quick change dress form the last season of the Westworld TV show. In that scene, Dolores has a magic dress that changes from black to gold in a second. The transformation of this costume is a clever combination of snaps and layers that I tried to reproduce with my own materials. The flowy gold fabric is not as light as the original costume, but my dress still works and I am very happy about it ! I hope you will enjoy the creative process and it might help you make your own magic transformation dress.
❤️Thanks for watching. I love making costumes and cosplays and hope to share a lot more about the sewing process, tell me what you think !

Wow that turned out so beautifully. It’s a sewing and engineering marvel!! Congratulations on making it and having it work so well.
Thank you ! Still some struggles !
This is absolutely awe-inspiring. Quick-change dresses are so mesmerizing and complicated, yet you just made one without a mock--up in two days? And it turned out this amazing? How you do this without magic is beyond me, you are insanely talented!
"And im not going to do a Mock Up. Which you should not do. EVER! but im going to anyway."
The chaos Energy in that statements speaks to my Soul!
The gold dress top giving me ideas for a bikini top! Love the transformation effect! RIP Gertrude
I am so sorry for your sewing machine - new ones just are not the same... and who needs thousands of decorative stitches when your needle does not manage to pass through more than three layers of denim anyways?
To me you are the official queen of quick changes! Thank you very much for explaining your fabric choices and how those influence the changeability. Also I am very glad that you show when something does not work according to plan. My friends often only see the results and never understand what struggle it is to create a costume. It feels so good that even experienced costume designers like you face these struggles - and overcome them. That encourages me much more than only seing the perfect outcomes of your work. You did a really nice job.
Bernadette Banner sent me here, really LOVE your content! Looking forward to your collab
Thanks for coming! How did you know ?
I work in an archive and we used those covered weights to hold down bouncy parchment documents or book pages - they’re known as snake weights! 🐍
Such a good video, and amazing that you just created it yourself without a pattern!
Dang! You have a one-of-a-kind creative skill!
You and Bernadette are my favorites.
I love that you recreated this. The plot holes will never let me sleep!
I loved this dress when I saw it on Westworld, this is an amazing recreation! Love it ❤
Gurrrrrlllll, i CANNOT believe you have so little subscribers on this channel! You are so so talented, I honestly thought you have at least ~100k subs before I saw the actual number. Hope it’ll become more popular soon, crossing my fingers for your success!
P.S. - The dress (or the dresses?) turned out amazing, and also I personally really like seeing the creating of something that is inspired by the movies/series etc.
Faisant du drag j ai deja sortie ma machine apres avoir vue ca merciiiiiiiii pour l inspiration 👏🏻😍👏🏻😍👏🏻😍👏🏻😍👏🏻
That shrug after "It shoulf just slide off. We'll see." Is so French. I love it.
OMG, I have that exact Sewing machine (From 1962----don't worry, Berninas never die, it CAN be fixed!
Trop cool! I love that you’re French as I’m learning French... and you’re an awesome designer! My parents still have an old industrial sewing machine and it still works fine!
Omg! And the efficiency of fabric use!
Turned out fantastic, and true what you say about sewing machines they don't last as long, mine is 86 years young and belonged to my great grandmother and still going.
WOW 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 you are a genius 💋
First I watch a video by an ex bank robber explaining how he robbed banks. Then this quick change dress video is released. Is the universe trying to tell me something? ;-)
Entertaining and beautiful as always!
Could be. Gather some skills to be ready for any occasion.
And thank you !
RIP Gertrude 🪦😭 I hope you find a worthy replacement. The dress is phenomenal, I might make one to have for office-to-concert/opera evenings! Oh and your make-up - perfection!
Thank you so much !
Office-to-concert/opera evenings sounds like an absolutely fantastic novel premise
Bravissima 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥👍🏻
I am doing a transformation dress and have had no luck finding any on youtube, so thank you.
Older machines ARE the best! My mom loves to restore them. I'm waiting for my own working old treadle from her someday.
I enjoyed watching you make and waer this quick change dress. Well done.
Ha! Very creative. Awesome work!
Your clothes are always so beautiful, but the best part if your sense of humor and editing!
I feel like Mugler did this in the 90s, except it was one of his waspy suits that became a gold gown.
Luckily, RUclips is not a Facebook company : we can watch this tonight 😃
Wunderschön !
Indeed, thanks for joining !
I agree, modern machines, you can have them. Parts always breaking, that for some reason don’t have replacements, and can’t sew thick layers or odd material like clear vinyl. And if it got any kind of computer chip, it is either a fortune to repair or is considered obsolete and can’t be repaired. Give me an old heavy metal, mechanical machine. I’ve got an old Singer and an old industrial called here in the states “a greenie”.
You are amazing. I know nothing about sewing, but you give it in such a charming way! Thank you for sharing your humour with us!
I HAVE HAD THIS IDEA IN MY HEAD FOR LITERALLY YEARS AHHH.
Nghe xong bài này cái thấy tâm trạng buồn và nặng nề kinh khủng. Nhưng lại cứ phải replay hoài cả ngày😍
Just had a wild idea. This dress but with a dark green instead of black for a Loki/Sylvie cosplay..!
Your videos make me smile. Even if I do not make any of your creations, it is fun to watch.
Love having these on to hang out and get in the mood for sewing (I do little plush dolls of elf role play characters)! Thanks for the asynchronous needlework company!
Start to finish a great video. Loved the bloopers, too. 🤣
Fantastic… and the black magic at the end must have worked… je suis abonnée !
Encore une fois, bravo ! Je n'avais même pas remarqué le changement de robe dans la série. *boulet* Merci pour cette découverte ! :D C'est somptueux !
I have things i really need to do but I've been put under a spell.
The way you choose such fun and interesting projects to work on is really captivating.
Your skills shine, and not just in sowing, but the way you edit your videos is really entertaining too.
I haven't watched this one in full yet, can't wait to see how this turns out!
4:30 Ah yes, the classic "oooo fabric move cool"
I love watching you work out how to do it! I didn't know about the weighted cord, I'm going to remember that if I ever need some. (hopefully)
Your WCS performance inspired me to finally step up and do my own quick change cosplay skit
Oh I may have found my new favorite channel
That was amazing, and you look so beautiful in that dress. I hope you have an occasion to wear it to and wow your friends.
I have had great time watching you create, you wonderful Starseed!
Love it. Amazing ! I'm so impressed 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼 xx
I love it so much!! I believe you are la creme de la creme!!!
Sublime la robe, quel travail ^^ Bravo !
I had so much fun watching this. Thank You for making my day.
Thats brilliant, well done.
Please take Gertrude to a sewing machine repair shop to see if they can save her!
That was amazing! Great job
Wow, amazing job. Well done 👍

Love this! I’ve been wanting to make a transforming dress for a contest and this video is a big help! I know how it works a lot better now!!
Incredible! First time viewer, new subscriber 🎉
You are so cool! You deserve more subscribers!
You look beautiful! 🥹❤️😍
This video was so much fun to watch - both for the content AND the editing! I subscribed and look forward to more! Merci!!!
Thanks for teaching me the word "flemme" I didn't know it (I'm very hardworking, always busy with important things). Great video, as always.
Happy to help!
Now that’s what I call art and science
First time watching your video and you are a joy to watch! I love your childlike energy!!
Love it!! Great job. This is pretty much the method I use to make many of the costumes for a local dinner theater. Now I just need the director to decide she wants a quick-change dress in one of the shows. Thank you!
* "Just a scrap I found on my table"...my kind of work :)
Tu es incroyablement patiente! Et talentueuse aussi. Bravo ! :)
Magnifique!
It looks amazing!!!!! Greatings from Poland ;)
This was lovely!
This is amazing!!!
Ahh do you do commissions? I don’t think I at all have the talent to make this on my own but I would love it for a theater performance! Love love love your work
I love your channel! You make such beautiful creations :)
sei fantastica !!!!!
How do you not have WAY more subscribers?! Loved the video (& the accent) you are super talented!
Wow!❤️❤️❤️
That worked very well. We used to do a four color costume change with the same dress back in the early 1980's but I do not know where we purchased it from. It was awful colors like blue to red, to orange, to green. And it did have some weights in the lower hem to make it unroll faster.
This makes me want to try but I know that's far beyond my skills yet. Also. Je vais mettre ça quand, hein ? A Noël ?
Neat dress!!! I stopped watching West World after season one so I missed that one.
Whens the etsy shop opening....I would kill for this dress 😱
Don't knock on polyester. It's amazing stuff. Id never use it for a jacket lining, but that's when you need breathability. It's still good.
My new favourite channel! You are hilarious :D :D
Omg 😲 I love this and you're so pretty!
It came out great
Вы класная!!! 😍
this is really fun!
Amo vestidos que se transformam graças à Barbie!
I don't know Why you popped up. But I like it!!!
This is a nice dress, in making cosplay costume whats the best fabric to use when making this kind of double costume in one to not look bulky 🙂
That was fun :)
Gertrude !!! Ça m'a fait rire! 😂
Fabulous
Ahh my machine died this week too. Love the dress!
RIP to you too.
Je viens de te découvrir grâce à ta collaboration avec Bernadette Banner et ta chaîne est un vrai régal ^^ Bon courage pour la suite !!!
Par contre la situation me tue de rire : une française regardant/écoutant une autre française parlant anglais XD
Sweet
💙
j'adore
Nice job, I always thought that the dress was done by computer graphics
Rest in Peace Gertrude
Ohhh did you take your old machine to a repair shop? The old ones are made so well and are usually repairable. But get a new one too, of course! 😉
this is so beautiful!! is their a pattern for to make my own?
Very cool! Tyfs
Thanks for watching!
