Please do a detailed video series of how to shoot a bow, the fundamentals in detail, everything from stance to grip to back tension again. You're a great teacher and speaker, the community needs your detailed insight mfjj. Thank you, God bless.
Lol his not going to put that much of his time into making a series just for your selfish self. Go check out Dudley’s series, your asking for everything that John has already covered in a very detailed and extensive way
@@mikeyspadoniI’m convinced you read his comment and just thought of any possible way to be negative 😂 If you’re going to point to other people’s content whenever someone may or may not post a video covering a topic, you might as well have no one post because every aspect of archery has already been covered, right? It’s a community, if you know anything about MFJJ he started making videos because there was a community that wanted information from him, its why he asks for input on his videos…welcome to producing content based off of your audience. I hope you have a great weekend!
I’m pretty sure if you go back in his videos he covers most of it. It’s probably in multiple videos but I’m 99% positive you can get just about all of it by searching around a little
The total peep website says clearly that this grip does NOT fit the new LIFT models, yet here mfjj says it does...?? Can anyone explain..????? My new LIFT needs an answer
Great job MFJJ. One thing that I would like to see you do something on is the DCA vanes and fixed blade broad head flight. Going to build a new hunting arrow set up. Keep up the great work sir.
Im exactly the same, with a double jointed thumb, if i shoot modern Mathews its just totally uncomfortable actually putting me off buying a lift. If i shoot my XLR8 and MR series old wood grip, it fits my thumb like a glove. MFJJ are you the same in the old style wood grip ir is it comfy?
thank god! New shooter and just put 3 days in a row of practice in on my Atlas. I have a wonderfully annoying open wound on my bow hand thumb. Thought maybe it was bad technique but watching this made me feel better, except for my thumb that still hurts! Does this grip fit the Atlas?
I love my Mathews P4 but my thumb knuckle would rub so bad on my riser that I wanted to wear a band aid to shot my bow. I had the choices of grips to choose from but I chose the total peep grip with the 10’ angle and I absolutely love it and I saved a few bucks.
I would like to see this grip vs the Ultraview beereal grip 2.0. I currently run the beereal grip on my lift and the grip is wide compared to the stock engage grip.
I second this request, perhaps on Mathews and a new Hoyt? If you could try top vs bottom limb attach I'd be interested in MFJJs thoughts on this vs hamskea
Just ordered a grip. Yes, my knuckle can get downright irritated, then painful. During an extended hunting trip, would use Leuko tape to cover blister. Added pair Equinox gloves to the order as well. Strip off original Mathews Engage grip, clean well and install new grip in its place?
No one mentioned the crazy price tag of 70 bucks for a piece of molded rubber/plastic or polymer, whatever it may be…thats insane. Also wonder about the grip angle 10 percent vs zero degree. Whats the advantages and preferences…i have an original UV grip on my hoyt rx-1. I think its 10 percent but never really had issues. Maybe since i naturally shoot somewhat higher wristed
Yes, thumb rubs on riser with sir plates and engage grip. I got a Traverse recently and I can't get it to hold as steady as my SR6. Tried side plates and Engage and both just feel easy to torque and wobbly at full draw. Is there a grip for Mathews that feels more like a Bowtech grip?
Not the knuckle by the web of the thumb but the middle knuckle rubs bad enough that I almost have a permanent callus on my thumb for me so I feel you MFJJ. Side note I did my due diligence and Pencil’d “MFJJ” in the open space for the presidential primaries. I hope that helps 😂🏹
If your knuckle doesn’t rub, would you shoot this grip over traditional side plates? I like a bare riser, but can see how this grip may add some insulation from the cold during our WA late seasons.
Definitely going to try this out! Question for you! What’s your personal arrow setup/weight when hunting white tail? Your go to broad head for them as well?
After shooting hoyt and going back to mathews Yer the rubbing on the riser with side plates gives me the shits I can't seem the get Comfortable with the side plates and I don't like the stock grip either Will definatly try that on the lift 👌
I shoot off the riser with my v3x…yeah it’s kinda sharp and pointy on that knuckle but that’s how you know you have a repeated grip…toughen up lads. Keep up the good work mf
Yeah I have the phase 4 29 and it grinds on my knuckle as well and now I think about it I had the vxr and the v3 before I got my phase 4 and every one of them rub on the same spot after about 60-70 arrows I need to stop because it hurts to much
I think my knuckle touches as well, but it doesn't bother me at all. I actually know that I'm repeating the same grip whenever I feel my knuckle in that grooved out area in the grip area of the riser.
I’ll try one of these. I have HATED the extra grip angle every single aftermarket maker puts on the grip. The fit is always off too. Gaps and extra stuff around the top. Didn’t get a real close up f the grip near the shelf where the crappiness of design usually comes through. Hopefully this is better. My thumb doesn’t hit that spot on the riser for what it’s worth.
Yes just bought a total peep havent tried it yet. My thumb rubs on mathews big time so this is great news. Currently using side plates. Tried the Chris bee grip but like side plates better
Thanks for the video. I thought my knuckle was the only one that calloused. Unfortunately, I shoot a Mathew’s Avail and from what I read, no one makes an aftermarket that works for that bow. I hate the grip! If you carry one that works let me know and I will get my order in. I just bought the Total Peep cover for my QAD rest and love it. No more curling rest material.
Can you do a build on Altra arrows Different fletching Arrow build that’s works for both whitetail and Elk

I purchased this as an alternative for my new Lift 33. I’ve used the Bee Real 2.0 recently and it’s better than a stock grip, but slippery. My hand sinks into the grip like a favorite girlfriend and stays put! I just ordered two more for my TRX and my Phase 4. I recommend it for anyone that is looking for the right grip.
i started making custom 3d printed grips for mathews becasue i didnt like the way the stock grips felt. let me know if yall want some i can do custom texturing using logos or initials
My index finger knuckle digs into the top portion of the grip which feels harder than where your palm hits. To remedy this, I placed a small piece of foam rubber in that spot to eliminate any discomfort.
I've never had a problem with knuckle grinding with my VXR, With the stock engage grip or my ultraveiw grip. The only bow I had that problem was a Athens.
Interesting looking grip. I’m definitely going to consider. I’ve been shooting Mathews since the Z7 Xtreme and I’ve never had a problem with my hand rubbing on the riser🤷♂️. Thanks for the review.
I tried the original Total Peep grip a few years ago, and I liked it a lot, but the wrist angle was a little too high for my liking. Since that was my only complaint, I'd be curious about the zero-angle grip. I really like the UV 2.0 grip also.
Just got my first bow a mathews lift 33. I defibatly noticed the knuckle rubbing the first day shooting the bow and i immediatly ordered the total peep grip 10 degree. Cant wait to try it out!
I also have the riser rub my knuckle. I have really small hands though, so most grips I put on any of the Mathews bows I don’t like because it’s usually too much grip. I actually prefer to shoot just the outside riser side plate, not even the inside riser side plate. I usually just wrap my bow in a SPAT tape to get a little texture but still keep the grip slim. So to answer the question, yes I do rub. But i have also learned to either shoot through it or to just take a piece of tape and put it there to avoid the rigidness of the riser. Thanks for the video!
Touches my thumb, shooting phase 4. I’ve had it with other bows as well, shooting session in and it’ll feel/look like a blister. Great video been looking at these
I tried their original grip on my Matthews B3 27 and loved it. The angle was a bit much, and now I am glad that they came out with a 0°. Their other products are good. I love their peep I will probably use it for the rest of my life, I do like all their small products. They are just little Nick knacks that you need that people don’t think of. Excited for any of their new products in the future.
I use that grip, the original not the 0 deg. I love the texture and feel of it both in our Iowa summers and winters. I have the UV grips also and the total peep texture is better in my opinion.
I wanted to use side plates but that knuckle on my thumb issue hurt so bad I couldn't do it. I ended up using a bee real grip, but this looks like a better option for me angle wise
I have the first gen total peep grip and I love it. It keeps my thumb from rubbing into the riser as mentioned. As far as durability is concerned I have been shooting this grip since the first week it was released. I haven’t noticed any wear what so ever and it provides a nice thermal break against the cold riser during late season hunting. I may have to try the second gen when my new lift arrives.
It’s personal preference. If you like a low wrist angle this grip will be great. The 10 forces you into a high wrist position. The high wrist, theoretically I guess is better. It puts the web of you hand deep in the throat of the grip and reduces torque. In theory.

I was just going to comment this. Curious on his thoughts as well.

Do we have a 6 month update on this grip? Any long-time usage thoughts?

They have anything for the Triax though? 🤔
Would assume, no. 😢
I thought I just had a bad hand position because my thumb knuckle hit the riser. Must be a hand geometry issue.
My 0 total peep grip is rubbing on the bottom of my qad rest is anyone else having that issue
I did 3d tournament 41 targets and I used my quiver and I got a blister
I've been curious about those but hadn't seen one yet. Might have to pick one up and try.
I've never had issue with the knuckle rubbing.
Be careful installing it. It does rip easily.
Why do you use a wrist strap? Is it firm or loose on your hand when at full draw?
Any chance you will do a review on Mathews shot sense
I love my Mathews P4 but my thumb knuckle would rub so bad on my riser that I wanted to wear a band aid to shot my bow. I had the choices of grips to choose from but I chose the total peep grip with the 10’ angle and I absolutely love it and I saved a few bucks.
I just 3d print mine and adjust to my liking.
This grip or the BeeReal 2.0?
Any idea when this will be back in stock?
I need a knew grip for my lift not sure witch one to go with
Are they still going to make these for hoyts
Will this grip fit a Mathews prima?
I would like to see this grip vs the Ultraview beereal grip 2.0. I currently run the beereal grip on my lift and the grip is wide compared to the stock engage grip.
If you prefer a narrower grip, you should consider running side plates. You benefit from the flat back of the riser vs the stock engage grip also.
@@jons7e I have thought about that
have you tested it when wet or in cold conditions?
All I need is my Lift. I saw the grip awhile ago! Still waiting on my shop.
Was told June on my order bro
Review the integrate 8 vaportrail rest. Better than a Hamskea 🤷🏻♂️?

I like my total peep tech grip on my mathews V3X 29. And my finger doesn't rub.
That’s crazy a pick of Foam man someone getting rich why the other person is getting ripped off 😢😢😢 $69.99
SOLD OUT 😢
I fixed my Mathew's grip problem by switching to bowtec
yep, knuckle contacts the riser and I have a callous now 🤣 Happens with side plates, engage grip, UV and UV 2 grip... interested in this.

Yep my V3X 29 died rub the same way yours does
Me as well although it also happens the bow i shoot the best so far a pse evo xf30
Love my Lift, but may need to check one of these out myself 🤔
Great video, this is like a good option from the original grip
Yes my knuckle touchs too. I shoot that much that I've got Callous though
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I havent any issues with it but that being that the grip does interest me! Love the videos, keep it up!
The thumb touch is the annoying

Yes my V3X and Vertix does the same

What are the pros and cons of the 10° grip? Is it better to run the 0 or 10, if so why?
