Thank you sir. Just went outside and drew back as you suggested. Two shots and no left shoulder discomfort and I'm in my anchor a lot faster. Thanks brother I appreciate the refresh. I've just got to engrave that process into my mind when drawing
Got into archery a year ago watch your videos and shoot my bow as much as I can and hoping it pays off this deer season here in ny. My first year bow hunting . Keep up the good videos man.
Okay, now I watched. I agree 1000% on those three things. Yes I want to up grade stuff all the time, but that is because I'm a tinkerer. I just like to mess with stuff to make it the best it can be. Now that said, I can take most any bow out of the box do a proper tune on it so that the arrow is flying straight put a basic ready to hunt package on it and shoot golfball sized groups at 50 yards simply because I practice. I have practiced for 30 years every single day for hours (like 4-6 hours). Like no matter how tired I am, or sick, or hungry, or etc; I practice 4-6 hours. Archery is my passion. I tried to quit one time. I lasted about 4 weeks and I was so depressed I wanted to die. Like I was telling people I wanted to die, that I hoped a truck would run me over while getting my mail, and much worse stuff. No I'm not like that anymore because I have accepted who I am. I'm a hunter, a fisherman, and especially an archer. Yes I like guns, and they bring me great joy, but nothing like a bow. I can spend all day shooting the crapiest bow on the planet not hitting anything tinkering and trying to make it shoot right, yeah I'm complaining the whole time but that is just how I am, yet I am having a blast. I will sleep like a baby cause I had a great time messing with a bow. I'm a bladesmith, bowyer, and a classically trained gunsmith. I can give up bladesmithing, and guns, but I can never give up making and shooting bows. I'm 46 years old and have been making and shooting bows since I was 4. It is who I am, and it will never change. People be true to yourself and who you are and you will be happy. Now after all this waste of time, yeah I like the bells and whistles like name brand stuff. However I know cheap well made quality stuff can do the job just as well. Yeah I want a fast Eddie xl single pin (and will get one eventually), but an Apex covert single pin works just fine for now. Yeah I want a hamskee limb driven fall away, but a trophy ridge works for now. Yes I know those others are actually just me buying a name, but that name comes with warranty and quality. They have that name because of the quality, not just because the famous people use them. The famous people use them because of the quality. Yeah I just dropped 90 bucks on a stabilizer because it is a Chris Bee product, and I'm glad I did. Yes I could have got basically the same thing that was a trophy ridge and it would have been good enough and around 75 bucks, but it would not have been the same performance. See Chris has been doing this a long time and knows what is needed. It is higher quality product that does a much better job of doing it's job. I know I can do the job the same without it, but why not make it easier on myself if I can. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying, I'm not saying you have to have the name brand stuff. I absolutely am not saying that. I'm saying get what you can, practice till you can't lift your arm, then practice some more till your fingers bleed, then yep you guessed it do some more. That is how you get good at it. Gear is no substitute. In fact I would wholly say get a crapy Amazon bare bow and learn to do it without anything on the bow till you can put every shot in a baseball sized group. Then go get a good bow like a diamond (any diamond even a prism) with decent gear that comes on the ready to hunt setups. Practice till you bleed. When you can put them all in a baseball sized group now you get name brand stuff like a flagship bowtech, hoyt, elite, or mathews with flagship gear and practice till you bleed so you can hit golfballs at 100 yards. Now yes I stand by that advice, but I know that isn't who everyone is. What my point is to be dedicated. Don't be waxed about it. Be focused and make yourself happy.
Great tutorial. I am 57 yrs old, been shooting bows for 30+ years and am looking at full shoulder replacement due to no cartilage left between the ball and socket. I have tutored many new archers and the points you make are the things that I also taught. I am at a loss without being able to bow hunt any longer.
I believe this is the best video I've come across for proper draw form and especially the detailed explanation of bias and why we should not be using stabilizers to create ideal balance so much as to find the bias that helps us be the most accurate. 5 stars if I had the option.❤
Thanks Chris for the advice! I’ve taught myself to do a lot of different things over the years and unfortunately at times the wrong ways. You just helped me tweak my draw to be more comfortable!
Great video Chris keep this stuff coming! Need a video on how to actually fire the shot how to pull into the back wall how much to push the bow with your lead hand what does a proper follow through look like / just a break down of accurate shooting!
Love your videos ! I would love if you made a video on best camera setups for lowlight, like budget camcorders vs pro camcorders vs full frame Sony cameras or APS-C cameras there’s not a lot of videos comparing different options and price points for hunting,
What you said about the back bar creating bias clicked with me and i think i might need one.. my evo is beautifully balanced with a quiver, but I'm constantly fighting to keep the bubble level and the pins still on target. Great points in the video! Thanks!
Thank you for that insight. I have a question for you though, I'm a freshman in college this year and have hunted my whole life but this year bow hunting for me has kind of taken over and I've grow to love it so much more. I've thought about competition archery and was wondering like how you got into it?
Thank you for telling me about the back bar. I did not know that. I have always been trying to balance it. As you showed in the video, now I'm going to change it to see if it's better with more weight on the left. It may be the only time in my life. I'm willing to go to the left.
Haven't watched yet, but am going to. Wanted to say I purchased one of your 10" Bee Stinger pro hunter Maxx today at cabelas (you didn't have one on your website or I would have got it there). I am super happy with it. Makes my bowtech core SR set so stead at full draw. Absolutely no pin drift. I intend to get a side kick mount and add a Bee stinger rear stabilizer to help level the bow a little more so I don't have to correct the level on it. Not sure why it is canting the bottom limbs to the right as I do not have a quiver on it. Thinking I need one of the dampener weights on the bottom right of the bow since I don't have a quiver on it.
Chris I went from shooting Trad black widow bow to shooting a Mathews 70lbs with fingers to this day. I use my old method used in Trad shooting for my compound, What I do is focus on target with bowhand low waist level. From there I draw rising bow up to line of site while drawing, real easy for me, not tension or extra movement like you said-bring bow site back on target too much moving I agree.
Chris, I’m 52 and have been shooting bow since I was 12 years old. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called CIDP. Because of this , I have lost a lot of strength and actually most of the use of my right hand and arm. I tried a couple crossbows, but they have proved to be to hard to use the crank to draw them. ( both were TenPoints ). I would really like to see a video or something to do with mouth tabs for shooting. And setting a bow up to shoot. It’s been five years since I have in woods to bow hunt. I see Mathew’s has made a bow designed for lower poundage shooting and draw length. If possible, please help me?
Your stabilizer explanation is better than 95% of the pros. Most pros say that you need to let the shot tell you how much you need. I want mine to sit in my hand and not move! That will tighten the groups!
Can you do some more videos on bow maintenance? Tying servings, nock points, d-loops. Been trying to do my own bow work as we do not have a bow shop nearby less than 3 hours away
I'm still using a Diamond Infinite Edge Pro that i bought back in 2015 and i just have the string replaced every other season. I actually learned how to shoot it by watching your videos all the time.
I've pulled wrong like that always. I watched your videos and dudley's. Now I can pull 70 lbs no problem. Also dudleys kettle bell workouts help with strength. Technique is everything!
Thx for informative videos, I've noticed alot of videos where archers are drawing their bow improperly. I have a torn rotator cuff and I can draw my bow easily the proper way keep them videos rolling thx...
Thanks for the advice Chris. I’ll definitely take that into perspective and I will try my best to shoot every day. Cool bro take care. Have a good one.
Excellent video brother, great insight for shooters on all levels. Can you do a video on the difference between a single pin versus a multi pin sight? I am looking at upgrading and trying out a single pin this year and any insight would be helpful. Keep it up man!
The stabilizer bias is like driving down a straight road with a vehicle that tracks perfectly straight but has a little slop in the steering. You are constantly making small left and right corrections. Now have a vehicle that slightly tracks to the right. You just maintain slight variable left pressure to maintain a straight path.
100% A lot of times when aligning cars we would add just a little bit of toe bias to account for the crown in the road, which was most blacktop roads where we were. The car applies the pressure for you and it feels like it's tracking perfectly straight.

Thumb buttons aren’t shot with back tension neither is a hinge… it’s a common misconception. Draw, anchor, aim, and squeeze slowly till the shot breaks. Joel Turners Shot IQ course is a good one to look into. There is a ton of videos on youtube you can watch.
Just a question and possible video Idea I am looking to upgrade from a beginner setup can you maybe give some tips on what to look for in a intermediate setup
I guess my thought on the stabilizer has always been for it to actually steady a bow for a shot and good bow form is what kept the riser and bow in place after the shot. If a hunting bow shoots an arrow 280fps, if we use a 36" arrow for argument's sake then from full draw until the arrow clears the bow, is 0.010 seconds. A one hundredth of a second. So, how much time is a riser really required to stay in the same place? Especially on bows with more riser clearance than ever.
I have the fundamentals down and i can pull way more weight now and im not a big guy either. This really helps! However where i struggle is actually the letdown with higher weight. Come to find I was drawing my bow back incorrectly, thanks for the great video. As a new bow hunter I need a the informational videos I can get. Once again thank you.
I notice that when you draw your bow, just about every time, you look up and or down at your cams... What is it that you are looking at/for? Thanks for all of the great content.
Best advice was the last 5 min or so of the video , it all was good but pple get caught up chasing their self in circles instead of just sticking with it and not changing much once it’s set up
How some (fairly famous guys) pull their bow hurts my shoulder even seeing it. And I’ve even heard people argue against how you are drawing. I draw exactly like this and can’t imagine someone thinking another method is superior.
Hey Chris, I have a question for you, I went to your website and saw that the uv slider has three pins, is there one with a single pine or would I have to buy everything separately?
Can u make a video showing step by step on adjusting stabilizer on side and back from shot to shot and making adjustments to show me if that’s ok im buying my first compound and am afraid on this wanna make sure school is open and taking notes and learning ?
Y’all’s comments are wild why is he getting so much hate? If your to poor to buy the guys stuff that’s a you problem he’s running a business and doing marketing lol
Hey Chris this video has already helped me a lot, been practicing with a buddies bow and trying to get away from a crossbow so hopefully I’ll be able to try this for myself soon! Any more recommendations for a first bow would be awesome.
Too hot to draw during the summer months in Coastal Alabama. But with the return of football season, also comes the best time of year to shoot 3 or so times per week!
Im double jointed in my arms plus long arms and my shoulder has never been able to do what you want. I've tried it but it just doesn't work. I like the idea but it doesn't work for me. I wish I could because it looks alot smoother! I'm wondering if there are other guys out there that are the same? Appreciate the video though!
i would like to know more about bow's all the way around from top to bottom. i have loved shooting them but now i wont to open a shop and fix rear string the hole 9 yards so i can tech kids and others to learn about them too
In fact there is a one way to draw 80+ lbs bow and you show it. For most folks other inpropper ways will work for a while, but they will be outa game really soon with that DW.
Thank you sir. Just went outside and drew back as you suggested. Two shots and no left shoulder discomfort and I'm in my anchor a lot faster. Thanks brother I appreciate the refresh. I've just got to engrave that process into my mind when drawing

If a hunting bow shoots an arrow 280fps, if we use a 36" arrow for argument's sake then from full draw until the arrow clears the bow, is 0.010 seconds. A one hundredth of a second. Hey Chris this video has already helped me a lot, been practicing with a buddies bow and trying to get away from a crossbow so hopefully I’ll be able to try this for myself soon! Any more recommendations for a first bow would be awesome.
For hunting, at what point is a front bar useless as far as shortness of length?
Too hot to draw during the summer months in Coastal Alabama. But with the return of football season, also comes the best time of year to shoot 3 or so times per week!
I intend to place an order on your site; however, since I already have a lift, I would like to transfer my entry to someone who doesn't have one.
Pick me! 😂
I accept.

When I pull my bow anchor looking in my sight i see my bubble lvl it is really all the way to the left. What does that mean?
Love you stuff man. Keep it up

Thanks man 22 yrs old , just got my first compound
Im double jointed in my arms plus long arms and my shoulder has never been able to do what you want. I've tried it but it just doesn't work. I like the idea but it doesn't work for me. I wish I could because it looks alot smoother! I'm wondering if there are other guys out there that are the same? Appreciate the video though!
Drawing properly is like riding a bike. Once it clicks and you do it right, you get it every time
Thanks For the help and the videos
i would like to know more about bow's all the way around from top to bottom. i have loved shooting them but now i wont to open a shop and fix rear string the hole 9 yards so i can tech kids and others to learn about them too
Love your videos dude.
Can you draw this way while seated in a pop-up blind. Cause I hurt my shoulder doing it the wrong way.
😊 I NEED TO FIND A MATHEWS V3X, 29, R.H., 70 LB, 28.5" DRAW AND WORK UP TO PULLING IT. 😊😊
LEFT SHOULDER POPS A LOT .😮
In fact there is a one way to draw 80+ lbs bow and you show it. For most folks other inpropper ways will work for a while, but they will be outa game really soon with that DW.
Great video man
What is that black clip/mount attached to the riser right above the Slider sight?
Could we get a new updated Sitka Gear whitetail setup?
Love the videos Chris
