No matter what happens with Bear, no one will ever be fair and put them in the same class as other companies. Sturdy bow for what they are meant for. I know the way you test its even and fair but in the end it's your opinion and i respect that. Great review. Thanks Josh
@@Popo_6961That said, I have talked to a few guys who work at the bow shops, and they said that they liked last year's Bear flagship more than the Mathews and Hoyts. I shoot an Elite, but it was interesting to hear that from guys who deal with bows all the time.
I agree. You could take the EXACT same bow, remove the Bear labels, slap a Hoyt or Matthews label on it and the "experts" would automatically rate it higher.
Thank you for this effort and all your tuning videos. You are my #1 archery source when i buy online. You explain what the bow is doing and why. I constantly try new things and you make the adventure fun.
Good work, appreciate the 28” speed and the 2nd chronograph. I think these are the best non biased bow reviews. And I can still develop my own opinion w your data.
Great review. As much hate as they get I still love my Persist. Thanks for doing the 28" test as well. Im 70lbs, 28" 465 grain at 282fps on the original Persist with custom strings.
Thanks for sharing. I love the new grading scale and the new 28 inch speeds with a nice hunting weight shaft. It makes more sense to show those speeds on an average hunting rig. It don’t really matter how fast it shoots a blow dart when no one is hunting with blow darts. Reminds me of the old overdraw days when everyone was chasing 300 FPS.. thanks again sir and keep up the great work. Dale.
Thank you for measuring sound! I don’t think many bows are going to be annoying to shoot now days with vibration, so sound is what really counts to me. Very smart to keep the decibel reader away from the arrows impact. The scoring system this year looks great!
I LOVE the changes you made to scoring and adding sound, though curious of the sound with heavier arrow. Keep it up, don’t change this testing process. Absolutely agree with 650 being the heavy arrow
Well done MFJJ , a huge improvement on your review scoring , also loving the extra markers you have added in. Ant wait to see you do all of the new bows, with this new format 😃🏹
I enjoyed the arrow weights myself. I liked seeing how much trajectory was lost 😆 I've bee. Watching you for years. Very solid mfjj! I like the new process
Love the new process. Appreciate you dropping down since I’m 27 inch draw length and shooting 420 grans gives me a better feel how it will shoot for me.
Bruhhh! As a dude shooting 675 grain slim arrows, the 650 speeds are what I've been craving! Love the updates, your numbering system is getting more accurate and informative. Keep it up man 🤘🏻 But bow wise, when I upgrade my Cruiser G2 it'll be for a hoyt or a Matthews.
I agree with the two comments about the draw length error and of the noise meter needs to be at the bow and not the arrow path. The new testing/chart method will have some growing pains for sure, but it is coming together. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for putting in all the effort to test these for us. THAT SAID, would be nice if you stated letoff or set to a consistent off as that makes a difference in feel and speed. Maybe test set letoff and actual. I know some manufacturers fudge that too. THANK YOU AGAIN!!
Love the new scoring system. Only thing I’d say, it’s more practical to show decibel levels at the typical hunting arrow weight. Comparing 450 grain readings seems to be more educational.
The new system is definitely more thorough and I completely agree with being more critical to leave room for expansion. An active spreadsheet on the website is a perfect addition to have for this testing and acknowledging that scores can change as you continue to tweak the testing is the way to go. Leave the arrow weights as is, adding the 28" 450g speed on top of the others gives everyone the information they need to make a pretty accurate estimation for their own particular setups. I give Bear the benefit of the doubt and think the asking price of $1250 is fair, but I completely agree that it would be a much better seller at the $1000-$1100 mark. As much as I want to see Bear keep growing, I don't think the flagship market is something they should put stock in. They have a huge chunk of the mid-low tier market and that is where they should focus their growth on. Looking forward to the new testing and seeing where the new bows stack up! Appreciate all the time and effort that goes into these, as do many many other shooters!
I think it’s great and just like all things, the first time is always gonna be awkward trying to find a rhythm and honestly having an extra Crono kinda gives the same people complaining about your old one more fuel about it not being correct or the same so forget them because they will never be satisfied because they can’t test bows every year, all year. Keep doing what you do and try not to change too much!
I think it's very good and I watch your reviews. I've actually been in your shop and dealt with you guys and everyone has been very helpful. I shoot bear and have been for a long time. And I'll be honest when I shot a lot of the new flagship bows (expect the Matthew's lift) it was a hard to decide which one i liked better i had to go back and look at features to narrow it down.
I like the new scoring system. Like the new 650 arrows and the speed difference between draw lengths. Dont listen to the haters, one chrono will work just fine. Great review but not a bow I’ll be looking at for that price
Love the new scoring, I think we all appreciate the system you are going for... just missing 1 thing which I think should be in there... dynamic brace height ie. Brace height at full draw
No issues with your process. I appreciate the provided information. Love the shorter draw length addition!! Maybe add some 60lb draw weight shots too?? Just a thought. Thanks Josh!
I like this, though it is your perspective, it’s still good for viewers and shoppers to have some idea of what these bow can do before purchasing one👍🏽
Since the Consequence 2 is basically a 2025 model for Darton I think it would be sweet if you would test that bow out using your new scoring system even though you previously tested it!
Another great review. I think when brace height is measured, it should technically be measured to the front of the string because that is where the nock actually comes in contact with the string. Or in the case of traditional archery, it's where your fingers contact the string. Which is also the front of the string. Maybe I am being picky.
Have you tested the older bows with the sound/vibration meter to give a base line? Compare last year's flagship to this year's to see if there's an improvement. Love the videos. I do like how you are impartial. Well, I hope to think you are when comparing all bows. Thanks for taking the time to educate us on all options and not just what my local seller just wants to peddle.
I like the scoring system idea, I cannot use it as is. There is not real judging done on it. I would like to see it be more realistic, and not throw a number based on how you “feel” about it. One point was added for each tuning feature. That would tell you exactly how they stack up. One point reduced for every 1/4” of reflex. One point reduced for every 1/8” variance of specs length specs. One point for every tenth off spec on weight. One point for every FPS low. So one for everything. Thanks for the efforts, I am trying to be constructive, at this point I still have to come up with my own score, and it Varys if done exactly the same on each bow.
After seeing many Bear reviews by you, it’s shocking to me that you actually think you are not bias against Bear. In your own words “honestly” you are not being honest, just say you dislike Bear and only review them ‘cause you sell bear online.
He's bias against bear products is evident everytime he reviews them . I have never owned a bear product so view this from the outside . I made asimilar remark to his last Bear review .
Well, that's the beauty of a bias.. 😂 It's his, and not everyone will agree. If one doesn't like the bow, that's their opinion or bias. There are definitely better bow manufacturers out there. He never stated it was a "terrible bow" or anything of that nature. He's allowed to have a bias, kind of a beautiful part about the first amendment. 😂 Way to get upset over it, both of you. 🤙😂
Pse and bear still shoot as nice. If not nicer than a Mathews I own and a bowtech iron yet when people do reviews they're bias and it shows. That's okay. I don't like mohawks either hahaha!

I have a Bear Whitetail legend Pro. Same cam as this one, only I payed $500 at my local shop. If I ever get a flagship bow, I’ll probably have a bias towards Bear because of how much I like my current bow. I wonder if Bear will capture a larger portion of the flagship market in the future due to people with similar experiences.
2 things: Give any company bonus points for weighing in at less than advertised weight. Don't publicliy knock it by saying its loud before having any comparables. The last few years Bear's flagship has been among the quietest bows available.
I came here to say the same thing. According to the Bear website, the claimed speed is 340 fps not 350 as stated in this video. So, for him to get 334 is REALLY good. That's a lot closer to the claimed speed than most bows come in at.
I like the new process! I would however like to see some tested at the longest draw length especially the bows designed for long draw archers. I have a 32” draw and i never see anyone test the bows at that length or even close to it. I really like you testing 650gr arrows and they should be tested at the longer draw as well.
Wouldn’t axel to axel measurement be from the center of the axel to the center of the other axel? Not the outside of the axel. Also curious about the brace measurement being to the back of the string? Wouldn’t you measure from the back of the grip to the front of the string where the arrow nocks?
Awesome scoreing system. I personally dont understand the need for extra tuning unless your changing arrow setups often. That being said sweet bow might consider a bear insteas of a bowtech mathew or hoyt this year.
it is 340, i think he accidentally read the 350 grain arrow, instead of saying 340 fps. he said it was within 10, which is true for a 340 IBO, not for 350. so i think he just misspoke
What you are doing is awesome !! But with the scoring you should do a end of season match up with all the other bows and which one would be a better pick as a hunting bow
