New bow season is here! One of the best times of the year. Darton came out swinging! Great looking bow. No E clips, new tuning features. Good stuff for sure.
Josh, besides the fact that Darton delivered a superb product, you have really hit your stride on the bow reviews. This is arguably the best bow review on RUclips. It really looks like you've worked things out and your confidence in your presentation shows. Well done brother 👏👏👏
I wonder how long it will be till Darton is mysteriously selling gazillions of replacement parts of those string tuner adjusters, all you need is a set of those, and a custom length cable set……would work best for the duel payout binary like Darton uses, or a Mathews system, but could work for ALMOST any bow, could maybe even do it on a straight cable binary, you may just need a short cable with an extra big loop …..Hmmmm
@@benjamins7799 maybe make the connection point on the do-dad between the cable and the yoke adjustable left/right. This will distribute the pressure on the yoke sides asymmetrically yielding the same effect as lengthening/shortening a side of the yoke.... ....I think.
Great review, about the only commentary I thought was lacking was how well balanced the bow felt. If the bow is 5 lbs, but all you need is the stubby stabilizer to compensate for a typical bowsight because the bow is bottom-heavy, that alleviates some of the weight concern for me because one does not need to add a lot of additional stabilizer weight. I also like the rigor of the new rating system--extremely challenging for a bow to exceed 75 on a 100 point scale. And also degrees of magnitude more discriminating than anything Lancaster has ever produced. With Lancaster, it's as if they are afraid to say ANYTHING negative. Every change by every manufacturer is GREAT, so it's hard to discern which bows really stand out from watching a Lancaster review. But that tuning system that Darton came out with this year truly looks special.
I love nirvana to. Love da show. The fact that I don’t need a bow press. Imma get a darton just because of that. But I’m keeping my Hoyt and pse. And your definitely right about somebody try to make that adjustment system. You don’t need a bow press. F- - kin awesome
I’ve had my eyes on Darton since your “budget bow” video with the consequence and I’m leaning more and more towards giving them a shot. They think a little outside of the box and so far it sounds like they are very well liked and shoot great. I as an amateur bow hunter appreciate everything y’all do and look forward to more great quality reviews and videos brother. Now I need to get a mow hawk just sayin
Props to Darton for shipping a bow that matched advertised specs on weight and speed without having to unbolt anything or cheat on to get the numbers. I’ll be looking for a Darton dealer near me to try one of these.
All Darton needs now is to lengthen the limb pocket bolt to release pressure enough to just remove the string and cables. Been done before and would be nice to see again.
Darton wasn't really the first to come out with an independent limb adjustment. The PSE Moneymaker had complete individual limb adjustments with a limb bolt for each limb. But PSE did not continue this practice after the Moneymaker. That's a good idea for the cam timing. Being able to twist and untwist cables without a press is a good idea. I'm looking forward to them getting away from the caged riser like most of the other brands have done. I don't care for the extra width.
This looks like a great bow and I am thinking that longer ATA hunting bows are going to become more common this year and beyond. I bought an SX80 this year and absolutely love it, best bow I have personally shot. This looks like a very comparable bow with all specs that would also make it a perfect western hunting rig. Also great to see new tuning features that can compete with the Bowtech's.
Great looking bow! Did you mention the price? Think that going to be a major factor for it . If it's to close of the major brands.. don't think.iy will sell off as well as it should...
Regarding decibal reading i the videos, i think a blanket on the other side on the door from the decibel reader would help. The soundwaves will the hit glass and make noice when you hit the target. Just an idea.
This is how you should grade the speed, you should have a 450 gr arrow and at 30 inches if it shoots 275 you give it 7.5 out of 10 if it shoots 285 you give it 8.5 out of 10 if it shoots 305 you give it 10.5 but I doubt any shoot over 300 but 300 would be the perfect 10. Then you always know by looking at your numbers how fast the bow shoots.
Being a guy that sucks with a compound. Meaning I shoot my longbow better at 30 and in. I really like this bow especially the tuning aspect to it. I looks grate good to see the numbers sum what match as advertised I think that is important with the archery industry. Now fro the most important question Nirvana never really got into tool. Grate video
I've shot darton bows for 22 year there's been some really goods one and some have just garbage. One thing they all have had is speed but physical weight has gone up I think to help quiet them some. This down looks really good may have to up grade my spectra e
Instead of talking during the sound measurement, you can hold up a whiteboard with the data on it so you have it for when you edit as well as we can see what it is without you having to talk
Just the "Loadout point" doesn't say much about the string angle at your face without also knowing the distance of that "line" it makes to the grip (or from the point to the axle, we can for the sake of simplicity probably ignore the travel fore and aft of the axle going from brace to full draw, from there on, you can add brace to the equation). Plus where the grip is in relation to the axles affects string angle at face. I'm sure a similar load out point will feel different from a Darton (for example) to specifically a Prime because of where exactly the grip is. Not sure how all other (non Prime) brands compare, but I think they're close.
Am I missing something? Bowtech has already created a bow to be completely tuned without a press, adjust timing without twisting cables , did the folds of honor thing. Elite tuning with moving the limb pockets… not taking anything away from Darton because the bow is sweet and not claiming they copied any tech but why is MFJJ acting like this is something completely different? I know it’s done differently but the end goals have already been done
I think the only thing i disagree with is the conment about the weight. There are bows that are 33 and 34 ATA, that are the same or heavier than the darton at 35 inches. Plus the darton riser is libger than the other companies. Alpha x 33 is 4.75 lb at 33 ATA PSE evolve 33 is 4.6 at ATA Bowtech core series are 4.5 and 4.6 at 33 ATA.
very cool bow, id love to see a video of actually tuning this bow. the lack of the rear stab mount is kind of a turn off. I still think bowtechs tuning system is superior. (mathews shooter)
@@rickjames2618 good deal. Smooth draw, pretty fast and holds good. Gonna be hard to beat for the money. I’m in the market for a new bow I just haven’t punched the trigger yet😁
Am I missing something? He keeps saying how heavy the bow is. The 33 lift is 4.25 lbs. Mfjj said there’s stuff that’s 3/4 lbs lighter on the market. Other than a carbon bow is there one at 35 ata?
This bow is sick and if it's for veterans your giveaway since maybe that's what it sounded like with the name of something I'd like to enter my wife. She'd be great candidate to have this Bo she's shooting my old power Max from 2019 or 18 I forget
Mathews and hoyt is gonna have to change there nows to tune, now even darton came on board with bowtech and elite and pse is ok but even apa has all the tuning stuff
Score based on accuracy and speed. If some one advertised 305 and shot 310 they would still get a lower score because even though they are telling the truth and better, it's still only shoot 310 in a field of competition that can hit the 330-340 mark.
@@the_sharp_carpenter but this bow shot at what it was advertised at. These other bows may advertise at 330 340+, but none of them actually shoot at those speeds. The Lift 33 advertised at 343 and shot in the 320s, the alpha x advertised at 334 and shot in the 320s as well. This darton is actually shooting faster than those bows on a longer ata with a larger brace height. That’s pretty freaking impressive

Three, on appeal and quality? It’s pretty dang appealing to me, and Darton’s reputation for quality is stellar.
Their reputation for cracked limbs is stellar.

There has to be a way to make the “string tuner adjuster” also micro adjustable for the length of each side to change cam lean like old yoke systems…

I'm really enjoying the resurgence Darton is having atm. They used to be everywhere and they seem to be clawing back market share now
Pse moneymaker had a limb adjustment like that I hope they do that in the target bow. Great job darton
Nice bow. Tuneability is awesome coming from a Hoyt guy.
Darton shaking things up, trying to hang with the big 4....

I'm loving the way they implemented the tuning features. Now, they need to make a lightweight carbon fiber model with those features.

Xpedition X-Lite 35 is only 3.9lbs
Has Sanlida not already been putting out non bow press bows?
You missed the extra hole where the sight mounts to give extra clearance for longer shots
How does additional holes for sight mounting equate to more space to lower your sight without running into the arrow?
Value number should be higher considering the tunability, sound, ability to change different mods and the fact they are using custom strings.
Now I want one. 33 is a good size.
So is the 31 inch going to be hitting around 339 ibo?
I have not checked spec's yet.
