Shock-less White Balance? Who knew that was a thing what a SNEAK TIP and Free luts yeshhh plz... your colours are insane!!! Those colouring courses are really paying off!

Try different speeds! I personally like the slow since it’s not so abrupt that people can notice right away.

Hello! I want to thank you for such a useful guide on camera settings. Very revelant for me! Short time ago borrowed money and bought a7IV. Now I'm trying to learn how to use it. The first feels after an outdated SLR camera (it shoots video very badly) just wow, as if I were sitting at the helm of a Boeing aircraft)) Really like it! And here are just such useful tips from you. Thx!
Glad it helped out! The sony menu and how to use it is a daunting task in the beginning! BUT SO WORTH IT AFTER
FYI: all Intra 10bit 422 now runs flawlessly on the latest update of Premiere Pro on non-M1 macOS laptops 🙏🏻

@@zaffie730 SLOG3 should give you the best dynamic range of the camera, it should give you so much more information to edit in post! It can get daunting but it's not too bad! I made a few tutorials on it already :)

Hello☺ thank you ! Could someone please tell me which nd filter (stops) do I need to shoot in daylight when my ISO is 800, Aperture 1.4, if I shoot 1/50 (for 24 fps) and at 1/200 (for 100 fps).

PLEASE HELP!! lol....i cant figure out how to set my Sony A7IV to MANUAL MODE when shooting video. My Aperture and shutter keep changing on its own smh....PLEASE HELP lol....its driving me nuts. Ive tried switching to every different mode. Nothing has helped

hi i'm jai I shoot on the Panasonic G9 and think you're extremely underated for the quality of your vids, would love a free lut because I reckon you are def one of the best coulorists on yt and the Lut is hectic!

Didn't use the setting because I shoot on A7Siii. But i would still like the lut :)) . I assume they works just as great on my camera since it's both slog3
haha! You can still use some of the settings :D but ya it's all for SLOG3 format no matter what camera you use! Just best for 10 bit slog3

Newbie to video settings here - I just got my A7 IV and I have an option of 200M 4:2:2 10 Bit. Would this be of benefit? I guess the quality will be higher and file size larger, but would the difference be huge? Thanks
Definitely shoot the highest for maximum quality! You would notice if you'd pick the lowest available bitrate vs the highest. Especially if you would push the footage in post quite hard!
my red square is really really dark how can i make it brighter
what!! I don't think there's a setting to adjust it. I believe you can set the screen brightness setting to sunny day
So sad that in europe, we don't have 25p in XAVC HS... Only 50p -_-
If it was not for the crop, I would actually shoot everything in 50p, with 360° shutter and 180° for slow mo, just because files are smaller 😅
Yeah, I don’t get how they aren’t pushing PAL having 25p on certain frame rates. Or at least have a good selection like NTSC
Hey , Great video, which M1 Mac do you have. I was contemplating XAVC HS on my 13inch M1 but I've been swamped with work so I didn't test it out yet. Can you share specs and editing experience. Thanks
it should work as long as you don’t put too much effects. Normal grades are okay. I edit on my m1 Mac mini 16gb and that takes it well. On these videos, I use m1 pro 16gb only. Works fine

Yup! Can do. All file formats from the camera will do well on it
Why XAVC HS 4k can't let me change later from 50fps to 25?
Sony missed out on it... maybe it'll come out on a firmware update. Use XAVC S-I for now :)

I just bought your Tokyo Dream Presets, but I am having a lot of trouble loading them into Davinci. When I download them they are in xmp format. IS this correct or should they be of a different format and do you perhaps have a guide on how to install them? I managed to install the luts which are great!
The Tokyo dream presets are only Lightroom presets! They’re specifically for Sony raw photos. please email me at victorlaforteza.yt@gmail.com let's work something out about that!

I do! I make the aperture auto by setting it on shutter priority shooting mode and then making sure the exposure compensation is at +0.3 to +1.3 sometimes I can be tough but it’s easier to shoot that way and worry about it in post
Hey ! Awesome content. I just received my Sony A7IV. But I can only choose frame rates for movies between 25,50 FPS. I do not have the option of 24 FPS. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
Hi! You’re probably in a PAL region where the frame rates are 25/50/100! You can change this region settings in the menu! 24/60/120 are all in NTSC region. Not a big deal! You can still shoot 25 fps if that’s within your region!

What should my file format,
movie settings, and S&Q settings be if i record basketball games ?
I would almost always shoot in 24fps, 1/50, and aperture should be variable. If I need slow mo, I would do 60fps 4k or 120 1080p. All on the highest bit rate (mbps) I don’t use s&q because there won’t be any audio attached to it.
@@VictorLaforteza for file format I have it set to HVAC S HD is that good ?Most people telling me record in 60fps so idk what ima do yet 😅. I'll test it out in 24fps
@@SidelinePlugs yeah, that would work! you can test it out first on a local basketball court to see what it would look like!

Hello everyone, what is your experience about Sony A7IV overheating? I would be very happy for your experience. Many greetings
I’ve only had it overheat once but your mileage may vary. Some people have reported lots of overheating or no overheating at all even on high temperature countries. I think maybe it’s different batches of the product. I’m sure newer stock is better built.
Hey Victor - thanks for this awesome tutorial, just one question - I thought you’re in Taiwan which adopts PAL supposedly but you’re using NTSC…is it actually ok to use NTSC?
Not a problem! Taiwan is actually using NTSC and China is using PAL! Shot NTSC stuff in China before and never had issues. Especially if it's going online only. Doesn't matter until you shoot for broadcast :)

Hey there! Setting 6 on my audio rec levels result in really low audio when recording outdoors.. would 6 be suitable for vloging and interview, but higher levels needed for outdoors recording of nature/ambient? Cheers!
You should only set it on 6-10 if you have a microphone attached! Then set the levels and let the microphone do the work :) the preamps on the camera is not that good. Set it to 20-25 if you’re using the built in microphone! Hope that helps :)

Ibis is good but not Panasonic good and the rolling shutter is quite manageable. It’s terrible for fast paced videos but for slow and moderate speed, it’s manageable !

@@FUTUREINFINITYWORLD definitely should be good upgrade on the autofocus but image quality might be similar! Try to rent out an a7iv first to see if you like it!
