Learn Ink & Watercolour Through Fun Illustration...While The Animals Do The Cooking!

- Hello Artists and Art Lovers,
Sometimes we have a lightbulb moment. I had one recently, when I said to myself on Easter Sunday that, being a day of rest, I really could do anything I liked, guilt-free: I realised that I could indulge myself thoroughly and illustrate a recipe, featuring one of the beautiful animals that live near my home in Galway.
I love the creativity of it. I love picturing the prettiest colour scheme that will pick up both the colour of the animal's plumage or fur coat (or scales, or shell!) and the food itself. I love planning the actions, and how to bring out the personality of the animal in question.
I also love how much my students have shared my enthusiasm in recent months. They have told me how they have rediscovered the joy and playfulness of making art for sheer pleasure.
I've been contacted by many students outside of my higher-tier membership with whom I've been doing illustration to request a course on how to do this. I thought about it and decided I would, and that I would love to do it, too. And so I have a course coming up in exactly this.
It will be a course in character design, and how to use ink and watercolour to their best effect. It will take place over five days, from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 8th June, 7.00pm to 9.00pm UTC+1. By the end of the five days, you will have an illustrated recipe you'll love to make yourself - but more importantly, you'll be able to apply those techniques of character design and drawing, ink and watercolour, to your own illustrations: recipes, stories, poems, letters, cards. All in a way that will bring you and your loved ones joy.

If you'd like to take part in the course, but aren't sure if it's for you, or that you'll have the skill to do it, then you can come to my FREE taster class on April 22nd at 7.00pm UTC+1 (same time as the course itself). There will be enough time between the taster class and the course to buy all the kit you'll need, and I will share with you what you will need, although it's all in this video.
There's no link to join the free class: this time i want to do something a little different. To signal your genuine interest, I want you to send me an email, with your first name and your location, to sketchwithroisin@gmail.com. I like to put a name to my students, and know what country they're in! There are only a hundred spaces available and I commonly have upwards of 200 applicants so please don't delay, as it's first come, first served. Even if you can't make the Live, send me an email and I will send you the recording immediately after class.
Then, to make it fair for everyone, I have decided to put the course on sale at the same time. So, the next day the five-day, June 4th-8th course itself will go on sale, on 23rd April at 10pm UTC+1. I have tried to pick a time that suits everyone in the whole world which of course isn't possible! It costs just €80 (with 10% and 20% discount for Regular and Deluxe members respectively) and although I know everyone wants to be at the Live, it's just not that easy when you're at work, or asleep! But the recordings will be sent to all attendees after class each day.
