    Great setup/upgrade video, and thanks for the shoutout Jeremy. I really like the idea of running the fumes through the air filter first. I need to get one of those I am sure my neighbors would appreciate it.
    I noticed in your video you had some air getting trapped in the tube, (I hear this can create hot spots in the glass) I had the same issue with mine at first. A solution I found was locking the casters and lifting up the left side of the machine quite high would allow for the air to pass through, while also creating some nice lower back pain. Periodically the air would return, until I upgraded to the chiller which apparently has a high enough flow to force all the air out in its own.

      Thanks Chad! Was a fun setup process, and glad to give you a mention.
      Yeah, I know what you're talking about, and hadn't even really given it a second thought. Thanks for noticing and pointing that out. Now I need to figure out how to correct that without hurting myself or the machinery. I lifted it pretty high before to get the blower out, so should be doable.

    Crazy question, but do you think this would fit in a standard doorway? Does the top come off the base? Thank you for any help

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  2 года назад

      Hi Lisa - the laser measures 34 1/2 inches in depth (and longer in length), so it would not fit as set up. However, the body height without the base is 25 1/4 inches, so it would seem you could turn it on its side to go through a door (without the base). I'm not certain if the base comes off, but I believe I've seen it or a similar one off in another video.
      That being said, make sure you have proper ventilation/fume extraction when running it!

    Ive finally got mine set up ..but let me ask you, do you feel like we have been duped as far as the wattage is concerned?
    I can cut 1/8" with 3 passes @70% which seems very weak for a 60W laser judging by other peoples remarks about their lasers at 60W.
    They sent me back an email saying that it cannot cut 1/4" but everyone I talk to says it should be able to cut 1/4" with 3 passes.
    I really think what I have in my shop is a 45W being packaged as a 60W.
    I have been searching for a test to test the output. What do you think Jeremy.

    • @JeremyCook
      @JeremyCook  3 года назад +1

      I don't think it's 60W based on the tube length (which IIRC is 1000mm). I believe it's actually 50W.
      That being said, check out this video: ruclips.net/video/GM-lGGL1JWo/видео.html where after some fiddling I'm able to cut 1/4 inch MDF in 1 pass at less than 70% power.
      Perhaps you're running it too fast, the mirrors aren't clean, or there is some beam alignment issue.

    • @GunslingerOfficial
      @GunslingerOfficial 2 года назад +1

      I can cut 1/4" acrylic with the K40 (40W laser) single pass at 11mA. It really comes down to ensuring your laser alignment is absolutely perfect and also your air assist is flowing
