- Hey everyone! Welcome to another video! In this video, I will go over the retired fleet of the airline that has been involved in some of the greatest mysteries of aviation, Malaysia Airlines. Starting out as an airline that was one of two split airlines from the division of Malaysia-Singapore Airlines, the airline would begin as Malaysian Airline System in 1972 and didn't change it to its current title until 2015. Anyways, this series is inspired by Scaring Crab & Ibirdball. Hope you enjoy the video!

Our national airline used to have so much fleet variety. Sad to see the horrible financial position, the damage to the airline's reputation and the loss of aircraft variety in the MH fleet. We now exclusively use boeing 737s and A330s with a few a330s, a far cry from the 747s, DC-10s, A300s, MD 11, 737 classic, 777, etc.
Is there any difference between the A300 and A310 besides the wingtips on the A310?
@@Icelandair_B767the a310 was shorter in length and had more range (i think)
@@magicalintel5867 thank u !
That is true.
They used a lot of 747 variants (exept SP)
Yep
From -100 until -400F.
Its sad too 747 ended production now
And they didnt even use the 747-8i varients
The background music / sound effects is nothing short of a true masterpiece! Absolutely love it!
The one comment that appreciates the music 😂
A380 also been retired, replaced by A330neo, A359
2:18 that is Boeing 777-200 9M-MRD that would later be the aircraft involved in MH17
Correct :)
also The disappearance of MH370
@@somerandomrobloxuseraircraft had a different reg
@@Fryingpan1000 Oh yeah I forgot
Excellent video! Love those 747s
Thank you :)
They should have maintained the previous livery and wau logo. Its was quintessentially MAS. A minor tweak would have sufficed.
Also, once the wau was inverted, the airline's fortunes went south as well.
on 2:13 look 9M-MRD, its MH17
Great video. Thanks for sharing..
I have a 9M MRD plane model rip 370 and 17
Nice!!!
Good video!!!!
Still miss Malaysia Airlines B777😢
I guess the last few would be:
Aircraft type: A380-800
United operated: 6
Duration of service: 2012-2021
Replacement: A350-900
Aircraft type: B737-800
Units operated: 44
Duration of service: 2010-2025(?)
Replacement: B737 MAX 8
Yep. Especially the early A380 retirement.
I'm sure they won't replace it to B737MAX8 because it has caused alot of accidents.
@@jaedonnotfound3880 they will
@@jaedonnotfound3880A lot of accidents? There were only 2 and they happened years ago. Malaysia Airlines announced order for 737 MAX 8 and MAX 10.
I think Malaysia Airlines began operating their Boeing 737-800s for passenger flights in 2009. They received their first two 737-800s in February 2009.
2:08 i guess ik this aircraft,i found this on KLIA
DHC 6 twin otter still operating by Maswings
Maybe the planes that will be used later are planes with new models and technologies, which are definitely related to the biggest market interest in air transportation, bro..
Should've been used a sad song
The Retired Fleet Of Avianca
I wonder if they’re going to bring in the 787 Dreamliner, 757, and the A380 fleet back.
MAS have never operated 757s or 767s.
@@Icelandair_B767I'm saying as a new fleet, but it's not worth it for the 757 now as it's practically useless while the 777X will be available, but it's on grounding by the airline.
@@lightofachampion Yes, agreed.
I just realised I'm the 10th viewer!
Welcome dude :D
a380...
Imagine if all of these planes were back in MAS’ fleet
That would truly be an amazing thing. To see all their 747s and DC10s back in the skies
@@Sideshowbob24 i agree
so many planes...
@@MuhammadFaizZahiruddin that the point >:)
Malaysia Airlines NEVER had an Airbus A310 in their fleet. That aircraft shown, was a leased aircraft which MAS engaged for a very short time period.... ONLY ONE aircraft and not a fleet.
Half their fleet is leased right now
@@odzergaming may be true, but still has nothing to do with the A310.
okay that twin otter is like 57 years old now in 2023
Multiple variants over the years.
Fleet retired of
qantas
You got it
I wonder if MAS would get the 777X
Probably not. Given their history with the 777 and the cost to maintain a large plane like that
Is then 747 400 is present
No, MAS retired all 747 variants by 2018
You forgot the retired A330
Malaysia Airbus A380?
2:19 looks cursed to me
Ikr. It’s a small twin biplane
@@Sideshowbob24 Wait, wasn't DH-6 still in service? Although not really as much as it used to be.
@@MASViper Viking series Twinotters are different.

Philippines airlines beat Malaysia airlines in my opinion Philippines already have many Boeing 777 300er but Malaysia doesnt have even a one what a joke
Bro Malaysia airlines doesn’t care about that even me cause B777-300ER is expensive and use too much fuel and you just say Malaysia airlines doesn’t have even one on today yea I know they already retired the plane but you will see what Malaysia airlines do
