So super fast first impression is that this is a self-deprecating song telling his fan-base not to look up to him too much, cuz he's got his own issues he's dealing with. But if we're able to connect with him and his music, maybe we should take some time to think about why and use that as a way help ourselves.
Yes, I think he's also saying he's not actually very different from the viewer: "If I'm everything you talk about, I'm in the mirror baby let it all out". We think similar things when looking in the mirror in the morning, so spend some time to gas your own self up. If you want one of Porter's top qualities: throw your phone in the sea and be passionate about that crazy idea in the back of your head as if no one is watching... Smile :D
I had a similar impression. Like simultaneously being self-deprecating and SUPER ironically overconfident. I kinda felt that contrast in areas like “got 100 million on my wrist, physically sick”. Like this big flexer persona is something that’s being put on even though it makes you feel fucking dead inside. I could be overcooking it idk I’m super tired

Got a hundred million on my wrist
Physically sick
Crying at the airport
"I'm sorry, can I get a pic?"
Telling me a sad story

And I'm everything you talk about
Why should you keep letting yourself be let down?
If I'm еverything you talk about
I'm in the mirror, baby, let it all out
Knock yoursеlf out
[Post-Chorus]

I got a face tattoo, I'm not a regular man
You gotta hold on, I'll tell you 'bout it again

God. Really love Porter's angle on Pop music and where it can go. Super excited for the whole album!!
I love seeing the evolution of Porter Robinson and how each one is so reflective of the state of his life. It feels really honest, but fun. //// you're voices timber + the fun beatssss really be pulling me out of a hard time in life 🙈💛 LOVE YA PORTER I DONT WANNA DIE EITHER
i know it s been 3 months and maybe you don t read the comments anymore but i was rlly depressed for a long time and u randomly put a smile on my face! Im 20 yrs and i ve been listening to you since i was 12!
That’s 8 yrs ago, when shelter came out. I’m the same age and been listening since shelter era as well 😊
Loving the beep boops in the intro! Reminds me of the intro in Pillows’ “Thank you, my twilight”
telling my kids this is taylor swift
Porter you have no idea how wildly excited we are for this new album
Yoooo it's distantstar!
Hi distantstar!!!!!
Give album me give hear album me hear album give me hear album give me NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
hi distantstar
Distantstar goat 🐐
I'm so thankful for him and his music.. i'm having a really bad few months, feeling like i hit rock bottom again but his music keeps me company down in my dark hole. Makes me want to stay alive just to see if it gets better someday, thank you Porter :)
Keep going, we all go through difficult things, just remember that.
Im loving the presence of Porter's natural voice!
Something Comforting really made me associate his natural vocals with really making contact with his natural self and feelings.
So of course this era of "just" his vocals reads very clearly.
i suddenly feel the vibe of "mother" in this track
Strangely, I felt the same.
I got the intro of "Thank you, my twilight" by the pillows as it started
I immediately thought the same thing! The intro gave me The Pillows vibes right away.
Yeah me too. goosebumps for sure
HOW
i love the fun this has in contrast to the serious, emotional nature of worlds and nurture. its a strange switch but its awesome

didn't really like this song when it first premiered but it started growing on me, now it's one of my favorite songs from april
"If I'm everything you talk about
I'm in the mirror, baby, let it all out" such a good line, projection in internet culture is so prevalent.
Anime Boi, Porter Swift, DDR Kid-the legend goes by many names
Porter in his weirdcore arc and I'm here for it fr ❤
What a departure from ‘Worlds’ and ‘Nurture’ this is!
I can't believe the same person made this and Sea of Voices lmao. Just proves what a talent he is
been here since Spitfire lol def a departure with every album
This new era of porter is coming during a hard time in my life and could not be more excited to have something uplift me when I need a break from society and other songs I listen to.
I can't wait to go to your world tour, this song is so inspiring. The shot at the ballons was such a power move and it was cute seeing his team cheer!
2:13 till the end is just dopamine and pure unfiltered happiness explosion i deeply needed since COVID porter thank you porter thank you porter thank you porter thank you
EDIT: *You gotta hold on, i'll tell you about it again. I GOT A BRAND NEW FEELING IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD*
I completely agree!! 2:13 onwards is such a freaking dopamine hit I didn’t know I needed!!!
@@SubScoutRIghtt?? The chorus, the visual with all that confetti smoke bomb just chef kiss!!
You have been nurtured, now you must SMILE! :D
Just got it, thanks!!!!
2019 100 gecs: Ima go and throw my phone into the lake, yeah
2024 Porter Robinson: I'm gonna throw my phone into the sea
2029: we all throw our phones into the ocean?
This song was his 2024 opener. Confetti on the drop was hard!
the mouse clicks at 0:46 were an insanely good detail added IMO
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!
Holy shit
I don’t see it!
@@The_Ride_Guy theyre subtle under the rest of the mix, turn up the volume a bit and just listen carefully!
They're more like keyboard clacks, but that is a great spot haha
I hit a tree while walking on the street and listening to this song. I literally knocked myself out. Thank you.
youre welcome :D
これは俄然アルバム楽しみになる神曲や
The melody at the start reminds me a tiny bit of the one at the beginning of The Pillows - Thank you, my twilight
朝から元気貰える☺️
ドロップサイコーです🎉🔥🔥

Fully here for Porter Robinson going full Owl City-core
I don't know if you'll ever see this but your music is getting me and my boyfriend through the most turbulent time of our lives. I'll always remember this album as the one that I came back to when I could barely take the pressure anymore. It means more than you can know. Thank you Porter Robinson. ♥
ok
that bits reminds me of Thank you my twilight by the pillows
THATS WHY I THOIGHT IT SOUNDED FAMILIAR
DUDE YEAH SIMILAR KINDA SOUND XDDD
I'm pretty sure its exactly from that song. Good reference
It is a big reference no doubt
YES I THOUGHT THAT TOOOOO WE LOVE TO SEE IT
Hey, this is pretty good. I didn't think I was going to gel much with this one based on the preview, and while I dont see it being an all-timer for me, it's a pretty fun song! I think I "get" it, in terms of lyrics, seeing some of the discussion and "hype cycle" around this and previous album releases. I think SMILE! :D is proving to have some pretty interesting directions for Porter to explore. Cool stuff!
Absolutely love these tracks and the messaging. Can't wait for the full album to drop.
Sometimes i feel like i am also just like him doing whatever i want to do …. His music has the feeling that that depicts slight warmness of hope in during you downtime feeling but not sad …just like the feeling of a golden hour.
This is my favorite Porter Robinson song now😂 So exited for the album to be released ❤
I’m honestly so here for this version of Porter. Nurture was an emotional journey-this album sounds like it’s going to be something that inspires us ☺️❤️
I'm still not over the Nurture era of Porter, first it takes him so long to release another album and now I'm thinking "Stop! It's too fast wait for me!" 😭
im glad im alive so i can experience this evolution of porter
I'm genuinely loving every bit of this era tbh, its great! The little chiptune bits in this song remind me a lot of Thank You, My Twilight by The Pillows.
2024 porter is awesome, brought some light to my year fr
0:49 this specific part feels like Owl City sooo much it’s a vibe
Fr, i felt that too
another classic, such a fun and free-ing type of song. i feel like this new record is gonna be something we all need rn!

This is a certified hood classic.
Right from the melody, you can see how happy the song is, he brought a lot of joy into it😊
got recommended this by some twitter friends this is PEAK keep it up Porter
These singles make me excited that this next album is gonna be an absolute bop!
It’s giving Owl City and I’m here for it
Honestly this one had to grow on me, I wasn't into it at first but especially after the concert I really love it now!
가사하고 노래가 너무 맘에 들고 중간중간 8bit 멜로디도 좋다... ㅠㅠㅠ 흑흑
