I didn't like the looks of the Grand Wagoneer until my boss bought his 2024 Series 3 with the Palermo interior (Camel) gorgeous and super high-end. He had a 2022 Cadillac Escalade, but that Cadillac does not compare to the luxury of his Wagoneer.

Anybody here who says: "$140,000 for a Jeep! Wadda you nuts?" simply can't afford a fantastic vehicle like the Grand Wagoneer and probably never will. They also can't afford a Dassault Falcon 6X either. But for those of us who can, not waiting in long airport lines and having to deal with the TSA, flight delays, cancellations, arbitrary departure times and unruly, combative, inebriated fellow passengers, it's well worth the money for the convenience. Believe me, for the money, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer is well worth it to be surrounded by soft, comfortable, heated and cooled leather, a quiet cabin and amenities out the ying yang, especially on long trips. Not buying (if you can afford it) a Jeep Grand Wagoneer because "it's a Jeep," is like not accepting the gift of a Bombardier Challenger Global 6000 because it's built by the same company that makes snowmobiles. "$40 million for a snowmobile! Wadda you, nuts?"

Good grief this price is truly absurd, which is why Wagoneers aren't selling. You can go to any Jeep dealer in the US and find Wagoneers that have been sitting for over a year. I say it's way past time for some sanity to return to vehicle pricing, so I'm thrilled that stupidly overpriced vehicles like this aren't selling.

I agree with the comment made on the horrific appearance of the exterior of that vehicle. The interior designer should be promoted, and the parties responsible for the exterior should be fired. You almost wonder if the former should be responsible for the exterior as well since they did such a great job with the inside. I love the powertrain if this is going to be a 39 month lease and the interior design and choice of materials is class-leading. The only way I could stomach this vehicle is to have the blacked out edition with tints. As you commented, nobody is going to be purchasing this vehicle so switching to the forced induction high output inline 6 was a no-brainer. If you could drop this interior into an Escalade, you would have a home run.

A short lease is the only way these things will get off the lot, as no one wants to deal with the reliability issues that this will inevitably have. Plus the depreciation is going to be insane. I doubt many of the features will be working in 10 years on this Jeep. Hard pass even with markdown, if I had this money there's no reason to not get an Escalade or Navigator even. As an owner of a current gen Expedition, I would get the Cadillac.

140k for a jeep? I don't see the difference between Jeep and (say) Yukon/Cadillac or the Ford thing. It's all the same and I wouldn't feel less secure spending that money on a Jeep. My Grand Cherokee was an excellent vehicle in every way, already way back in 2011. The issue isn't that "it's a jeep", the issue is that its way too much money for any vehicle. And I worry about the future of Jeep because they can't survive on low sales numbers no matter how good this thing is. The GC and Wrangler and Ram 1500 can't carry all of FCA, they're going to tank quickly unless they get some good high volume stuff to market that people can actually afford.

I owned a lincoln navigator, and sometimes the tires would spin on starting and on braking the car would bounce around...does that happen on this car? I've been looking at it for awhile and want an honest opinion. You do very well on your videos, but could you always include how it feels and what it does when you start driving and how it reacts when braking? That will be the icing on the cake. Thanks for your thorough reviews and rounding things out with your dad involved...

I agree $140,000 is too much for any SUV but when you compare it too Cadillac it trials badly in prestige! Not as much with Lincoln but if quality holds up it will take sales from Lincoln, Lexus and maybe Range and land rover due to terrible Quality from Rover group!

Also, there are reports on the interior quality for longevity is having some issues as well on the ones that are a few years old. Bottom line, those who can truly afford these will lease them for 24 to 36 months max. That way it stays under a factory warranty. And if after a few months they really don’t like it and can’t stomach the look of the outside anymore, they dump it and move into something else. …..

The timeline people keep vehicles for has been dwindling for a longtime. I’ve heard people literally say “ I need a new car, I’m bored of this one “. They drive it for a couple years or so, and get a new one. As long as they don’t have negative equity, That’s another conversation 😂

I'm one of those who get bored easily. I just bought a Grand Wagoneer L Series III. Traded my 2022 BMW X7 because the GW was so much nicer and the X7 was just too small. This is my 40th vehicle, all purchased, none leased. I am retired.

It's certainly expensive though I cant comment on much other than I think it was missed opportunity for Jeep not to offer an offroad trim of this model lineup. They've known now for years how the offroad and overlanding market was in full swing, but then brought out this low slung wagon form factor. I am not interested in that type of vehicle, but I know having one on offer would have helped increase popularity and sales for their intended market.

Not sure about the 2024 models, but for 2023 you can get a Wagoneer with the Advanced All-terrain Group. It has 18” all-terrain tires, two-speed transfer case, skid plates, electronic rear diff, and air suspension to increase ground clearance, etc.

@@davidhypes5228 Oh interesting, I had no idea there was such a package available. I dont see any package like that for the '24s but maybe some of the features or components were added in with other packages or made standard? Wonder why that wasnt more prominent in their marketing, I feel like Tahoe Z71 and Expedition Wilderness kind of play into a lot of people's desire for an offroady SUV and I always thought the Wagoneer would benefit from that approach.

Too much chrome and I am not a fan of twin turbos.
I am way past having kids but the fam cam looks like a good idea. My brother and I knew to separate when Dad started scooting to the middle of the front seat and getting his arm over the seat back. We quickly learned there was no way he could reach to the back seat corners of a 49 Buick Roadmaster.

Exterior styling are here and there but most importantly is the engine and transmission reliable? Normally, Jeep do not have great reliability record. If they are reliable, can Jeep provide 10 year unlimited mileage warranty on engine and transmission? At 140K!!! It should at least come with good warranty.

    • @healthyamerican

you should also point out that a similarly price land rover or mercedes which costs the same, are less reliable and have worse resale values. in 10 years you can buy a used mercedes or range rover for $3,000. i can tell you that in 10 years the wagoneer will cost more than $3,000

I drove Expedition Max across the country a couple of years ago and was surprised at how much more precise and nimble the steering felt compared to the Suburban. I have not driven the latest Suburban, though, but I would compare them before dismissing Ford out of hand. The driver's seat was also very comfortable, could make over 1,000 miles a day without being too tired.
