    these filter are great on racing cars with high revs......seen a test of these filters (believe it was on youtube) and they do work, low to mid range revs it doesnt do much but at higher revs it makes a diffence. Like you compared running with a mask on, walking and jumping boulders no problem, 100 meters sprint with full power it will be harder to breathe

      I agree I’ve been an auto mechanic since 2013 and I just bought a cross trek and noticed this extra filter. I also noted a very acknowledgeable change in both throttle response and pickup after 3,000rpm. Before I felt like the power and was extremely linear. Maybe a Flow Bottleneck from the charcoal filter.

    • @benjaminless3269
      @benjaminless3269 Год назад +9

      The charcoal filtre is designed for engine shut-off - preventing positive crank case fumes venting to atmospheric air and other hydrocarbon emissions escaping, back up through the intake track such as unburned fuel from port injection systems. It's an emission thing.

  • @wed_ward

    That carbon filter is part of the emissions control, so technically removing it makes the car non-compliant. Depending on the state inspection process - a small gamble. However, you should check out the dyno results and other details done if you really want to do this - ruclips.net/video/F1JmOKKAgyQ/видео.html - otherwise the K&N seems like a no-brainer.
