Your hairstyle is so Gorg, ❤❤❤❤. If the hair is still wet, that's why the comb makes that sizzle sound. The first time I did mine, it happened. What I had to do is blow-dry my hair completely then use the comb. That's what helped me.
@@Iamyl4nope her comb was too hot!! If your hair ever smokes up the heat tool is way too hot, if it’s an electrical turn it down if it’s an old school hot comb let it still there a little bit longer before you use it!!
Note: the teeth of the hot comb or pressing comb, straighten the hair. The back of the comb press the hair. As you make the pass with the comb let the teeth straighten the hair, use the back (the thick part, top part) of the comb to press the hair straight. When done correctly, it produces gorgeous results. If the comb is too hot, simply get a wet face towel or a towel the size of a face towel, place the comb between the damp towel, (not too wet) press down on the comb. This will cool the comb off, now use it. Bye.

I had a “big mama” and I have secondhand trauma from her daughters getting their hair done! She heated it up on the stove and combed it. I love natural hair on BW!
Never use too much product on your hair with the hot comb those heat protectors sprays a flammable af and her reason were her heart damage now. My Grandma would hot comb my hair with vaseline and it would be bone straight pretty and flowing and blowing beautifully in the wind. Until I took a hot shower with no shower cap on, that’s when the fro came back
Ladies please put Shea butter in your natural hair before flat ironing or combing. It’s a natural heat protectant and promise it does wonders, prevents smoking. Also shea butter is not an oily oil so not too much shine to worry about. Alittle goes a very long way!
I can attest to this. My beard balm is shea butter based it’s always glossy and rich when i straighten it and when I was it… it goes back curly like nothing ever happened.
Ok and 3 seconds after the product is all singed. Her hair gonna start burning, she proabably had it too hot for her hair but still it was proabably for tje best she stopped
I remember learning how to use a hot comb in hair school. I was scared at first too but it really does work well. Try it on a lower heat at first you may not need it as high as it is. You got it tho!! Try again next time.
I used an original hot comb not 3 years ago and it took off my hair at the root. Keep in mind the rest of my hair was down my back and I had a patch where hair use to be lol. Trust me y’all just use your flat iron there no need for you to look like your name is patches.
Best to let it cool. Use a piece of tissue or soft white fabric. Wipe hot comb by gently taping it on it after removing it from iron stove. Old school beauticians let it get hot, rest, prep hair piece to be pressed and wiped with white cloth. If there were no burns on that cloth it was cool enough for your hair. With practice you learn to gage it and can just press your hair. Smooth and silky every time. I don't miss getting my ear burned, but that press was the bomb. ❤❤❤

It does sizle alot. always make sure your shield comb is against your scalp or between your scalp and the hot comb. And be sure it's a proper non melt type comb. I hope you try again. ❤
Nothing, it’s the humidity in the air & there’s not much to do about it. Thats why theres a ‘silk press season’ (winter) where humidity is low and it wont puff up. It’s better to get a sew in or clip on extensions and only straighten the front of your hair
I stopped trying and just started wearing a wig when I want straight hair. I have had my wig for like 5 years. I have my beautician wash it and we just put a new closure on every so often. Even in the winter these natural curls are going to curl.
I'm trying a product called WOW it has rave reviews and my friend swears by it. I have 3c hair and my hair was still puffy the first time I used itmonthsago..trying it again today with with blow dryer and flat iron instead of just blow dryer.. they say ur hair stays straight for 3-4 shampoos
