GIRL. When I tell you I could NEVER get my hair straight and silky like this by myself I literally COULD NOT. I’ve watched every single RUclips video and it never worked for my hair. I finally decided to use your video for my final attempt and girllll my hair looks absolutely AMAZING thank you for this video!!!
Girlie, I think you just saved my hair from at least 3 more runs of silk press trial and error while I’m out on my own now and trying to save money. God BLESS you and your talent for teaching others.
I love seeing you chase it with a brush! I just did this the last time I flat ironed and realized it was so much better than using a comb, contrary to what many think. Your hair is gorgeous!
After watching your video I tried this on me and my daughter hair using some of the same products and when I tell you it worked. Our hair came out silky and straight. I give this tutorial 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That was simple and clear instructions. I can follow that. And I love your voice, it's very calm and relaxing. Also I appreciated seeing a person do it on their own hair step by step. Thanks so much for taking the time to help someone else 😊
I never use a serum , just the chi heat protectant. Maybe that’s why my hair still be poofy. The serum is what I’m probably missing. Your hair looks great girl ❤❤❤
yes, from my understanding heat protectant is to fight damage to the curl pattern, etc. and serum is for silkiness and longevity in humid conditions. thank you for watching!
using a regular shampoo and a clarifying one helps alot with making my hair feel extra clean try doing that instead of using regular shampoos and also cleaning ur hair straightener is so crucial because theres so much oil on the flat iron!!
Good video, I think it's very informative regarding natural hair care. I just want to emphasize that at 11:15 time you were detangling with comb/brush, you should add additional water to make the conditioner have more slip therefore preventing breakage. You should never have to force the comb or brush thru your hair. Another alternative is the finger detangle prior to using brushes/combs.
This is the first video I've seen of yours. You did such a great job giving simple yet detailed instructions throughout the entire process. Also, your voice was more soothing and was encouraging than other videos I've seen. Thank you.
I really hope you blow up! You did so good. Your voice was so clear and smooth. Your tips were informative and useful. Plus your hair turned out great 👏🏾
Thank you. I picked up a couple extra tips to do my granddaughter’s hair. I’ve gone from 2-3 hours to 1 1/2 hours. Now with your additional tips with products I’ve been looking for, we will both be happy with 45 minutes to an hour with even better results. 😊
Hats off to you dear. I can't do my hair on my own. I just can't, I've tried it and fail until I gave up. Keep it up dear. You look pretty after its done. Maybe I'll try once more following your video.🎉❤
Christina. You need to focus deep conditioner on your ends. Your ends need the most deep conditioner as they are the driest and weakest parts of natural hair. Just a tip as it looks like you focus deep conditioner on your roots.
Thank you for answering. Why did you choose that particular titanium flat iron vs a ceramic flat iron?? I would love to know the differences and benefits of both.
@sylviathomas8237 titanium is for very kinky strands. . It's not advisable to use at home because it straightens very easily and if used improperly can cause heat damage very quickly Ceramic is for fine strands and or less dense hair. It is a lot more gentle because that type of hair straightens very easily There is one more that not enough naturals talk about and that is a tourmaline/ceramic blend. That is the one I use because I have fine med and medium strands and high density. If I need to touch up my roots during the week then I switch to my ceramic only flatiron on a lower temperature
Boo don't get me wrong, u are absolutely GORGEOUS with your glasses on, but when the glasses came off, you turned into a whole model. Stunning! Your silk press was bodied AF too!
Wow! You did an awesome silk press. I'm 56 I would love to be able to do my own silk press. I went to the salon to get it done. It did last an hour. Ninety dollars!! I was so pissed. Thank you for your tips. I'm going to try.
I just came across your video and you literally helped me. My mom always blow dried and straightened my hair for me and idk why since I moved out I can’t get it the same way that she used to do it. You have given me hope in myself again 😂😂😂
This was so good. I haven’t done my own press in a while and this helps a lot. I’d love to see how it lasts over the week and how you go to bed with it and style again the next day
I’ve been wanting to get back into my straight natural hair routine but this video reminded me of why I started my loc journey 😢 this was a lot of work
Your hair is so pretty. I want to get a silk press but I'm very tender headed so I hate going to a stylist. I use a lot of detangler because my curls love to clump up.
New subscriber. I feel more encouraged after watching this video. I never thought to use the heat protectant and the serum. Thank you. Your hair turned out great.
I miss my silk presses around this cold season.but I need my hair to get back to the way it was,so I have to sacrifice and train my hair to get back to the way it was, then I will wear my silk presses in the cold and my braid and loc styles in the heat❤
Hey girl I’m definitely going to try this next time my silk press never comes out like this at home when I do it myself but can you tell me what flat iron you used? The one I have needs to be disposed immediately.
Just came across your video you did a great job. Your hair is lovely. Thanks for sharing those tips , will definitely keep this in my rotation to silk press.
Your hair looks amazing 😍 and thank you for showing how you do it on yourself from someone who is learning how to style her own hair vs keeping it in a ponytail. 😅
HEY GIRLL thank you for the tutorial im def gonna follow it this weekend, i have a question? i dont have a titanium flat iron. i have a white conair flat iron. is that good??
Thank you, young beautiful sis. 1st off I see you repping Clark Atlanta, one of the AU center staples, much❤, So appreciate this very detailed video, thank you, I will be referencing this video on all my future silk presses.
As a South African I’ve always been shocked by the fact that Americans wash their hair in the kitchen sink. 😂 Here It’s considered unhygienic to handle anything other than food or drink in the kitchen. My grandma or any adult would whoop me if I did that lol. 😅It does look convenient tho.
Hi South Africa! As long as you clean the sink in its entirety, just like you would do after any other type of handling, it’s fine I promise. I can see how it wouldn’t make sense though . Our grandmothers and mothers taught us the opposite of what you were taught so it’s cool seeing other prospectives 😊
Sometimes hair gets everywhere so doing that in the kitchen is a no for me and yes I think it's unhygienic. Just imagine how you feel if you get a hair in your food. Apart from that the video is not about the sink though
I’m not sure why adults do it but with Afro textured hair in children it’s hard to have them wet in a tub for as long as it might take. It’s hard to bend over a tub that long. I personally think it’s unhygienic to put food in the sink at all. I only hover food in the sink and disinfect it daily but I find washing hair in the sink for an adult preposterous. It’s easier standing in the shower but if deep conditioning for a 15-30 min or more idk you can be in there for hours
Hi, thanks for tuning in!! I just used a regular hard bristle brush flat iron: babyliss pro prima titanium (1 in) blow dryer: conair silverbird turbo dryer
GIRL. When I tell you I could NEVER get my hair straight and silky like this by myself I literally COULD NOT. I’ve watched every single RUclips video and it never worked for my hair. I finally decided to use your video for my final attempt and girllll my hair looks absolutely AMAZING thank you for this video!!!
omgggggg I'm so glad this video helped you and that you thought to come back and tell your story!! The support is much appreciated lovely❤
Your "little" tips are actually great ones.
thank you Auntie!🥰
finally a natural sis washing hair in a sink again. I know the shower is awesome but sometimes its convenient outside of the shower ijs.
I hate washing my hair in the shower! Kitchen sink for me lol
Just get a long adjustable shower head hose. You can slightly bend over your tube without your back hurting using one of those.
I know right! I’m old school! I only wash my hair in the sink
Sink life all day ❤
I like your idea
Girlie, I think you just saved my hair from at least 3 more runs of silk press trial and error while I’m out on my own now and trying to save money. God BLESS you and your talent for teaching others.
You right, being gentle is crucial.
I love seeing you chase it with a brush! I just did this the last time I flat ironed and realized it was so much better than using a comb, contrary to what many think. Your hair is gorgeous!
yes, it makes your hair so much smoother with less passes! thank you so much for watching lovely💕
Very nice and easy easy 😂
@@Christinajscwhere‘s it from?😊

Wonderful! I’m a white woman that has extremely naturally dry frizzy hair. Watching videos such as yours has helped me learn so much.❤ Thank you!
What was the temperature on the dryer and flat iron?
Did the curls revert back? Your looks healthy and gorgeous.
What serum did she use ?
You did such a beautiful job young lady! You just taught me about a "wax stick". lol I'm going to invest in one. Thanks alot. Keep up the good work.
your hair is so beautiful, lovely straight results
using a regular shampoo and a clarifying one helps alot with making my hair feel extra clean try doing that instead of using regular shampoos and also cleaning ur hair straightener is so crucial because theres so much oil on the flat iron!!
Great advice
Thanks!

What flat iron are you using??
Thank you for creating this video. It’s been a game changer for wash day!
This is the best one I’ve seen!!! What flat iron are you using?
Christina. You need to focus deep conditioner on your ends. Your ends need the most deep conditioner as they are the driest and weakest parts of natural hair.
Just a tip as it looks like you focus deep conditioner on your roots.
I was gonna say the same thing. Plus deep conditioner on the scalp causes build up a lot quicker.
Lovely results, do you mind sharing what brand your flat iron & blow dryer is?
thank you for watching!
flat iron: babyliss pro prima titanium (1 in) blow dryer: conair silverbird turbo dryer

Hair looks so good ❤
I've never tried the brush trick with the blow drying or flat iron. Will be trying it soon. Your hair is gorgeous thank you
I just came across your video and you literally helped me. My mom always blow dried and straightened my hair for me and idk why since I moved out I can’t get it the same way that she used to do it. You have given me hope in myself again 😂😂😂

Great job with taking care of your hair. The hair is healthy ‼️❤️😍

I have this blow dryer and I LOVE it. The worst part about it is the comb attachment
What do you put in your hair to make it grow so beautiful
