Not everyone that wears wigs do it out of necessity. That seems to be an ongoing misconception. Sometimes people just want a break from styling and fussing with their own hair and it is easier to throw on a wig. Or sometimes you just want a totally different style or hair color but do not want to put your own hair through the process of achieving the temporary look.

The trick to getting your hair bone straight is to blow dry it straight. Also use smaller sections and a comb when flat ironing. You should be able to get your hair straight with one pass of the flat iron
1. When blow drying, use the tension method. The blow dry is where the "silk" process really starts. 2. Clean your flat iron. Also, that looks like a titanium iron. Switch to ceramic. Better for your hair long-term. 3. Use the chase method and smaller sections when straightening. Try not to straighten your hair in the bathroom after you shower. The humidity will work against you. 4. Use antihumectant products Hope this helps 💜
@BerryFlair I have thick/fine hair, mostly type 4 mix, and I have not experienced breakage from the brush. I only use low/medium temps. My breakage so far has been during depressive episodes when I neglect wrapping my hair at night. That's on me and not the tools I use. I use it sparingly, by the way. I prefer the blowout look versus super straight.
I honestly want to say that you look so much more beautiful without the makeup! When you put the makeup on your natural beauty was hidden and not accentuated. Your natural beauty is way more beautiful than any other makeup that you could ever wear. And by the way your hair is beautiful every step of the way.
Let me add that the natural face looks much clearer, brighter, fresher and healthier compared to when she wore make-up. She became a totally different and older person with that make-up.

A very light foundation or no foundation at all but a powder with cornflour in it will give a lovely matt-effect a little bit of lip gloss, mascara and eyeliner and she would look really stunning. She's already stunning without makeup. Sometimes less is more when it comes to make up.

Protect the hair from what? Natural hair is supposed to be exposed to the sun and experience damage and it also knows how to recover as get cut, falls out and grows again and again. And there are enough products to preserve and style natural hair of all textures. I know this is your terminology over there in the US (I'm African)..I don't mean to be disrespectful, I just don't understand why it's considered a "protective" style when it's simply done that way apparently to "take a break" (and it's okay to say that and not call it "protective") from our hair as if it's hair that we don't know how to deal with and can't accept it all the time.

@@AvigailishI have in a partial sewin. My protective styles were working against me. My curl pattern is guilty of single strand knots and we were trimming every 2 months. 🙅🏾♀️ My stylist and I decided a sewin would be the best bet. It's a lifesaver for me.
I agree OP. Protective styles work with your lifestyle. For others it's vanity but for most it's what your hair needs in that moment. My hair grows thick inches when neglected. However, braids were not helping me this go round.

Cute!! My hair is the complete opposite- super fine and mostly straight. But I agree with the curls, so cute!! And for me it looks flat and lays weird if I leave it straight, but if I curl it it adds volume, smooths fly-aways and it just lays nicer. Even if the curls fall out almost immediately lol.

Titanium is actually better for certain hair types… you do less passes then you need to do with ceramic which means less heat in the long run.
