In fact after the war, the French were so disgusted by her behavior during the occupation, that she was 1940’s version of cancelled and people wanted to part of her.
Only reason she bounced back was 2 decades later, in the 60’s her clothing styles and fashion got popular in the USA where people weren’t aware of her baggage.
LOL she also was a big democrat her whole life.....right up to the end & being a faithful democrat I bet she still votes in every election around the country. And every female no matter religion, politics, culture, skin color, rich or poor still lives to buy her junk & stuff made & sold at high prices by the company that owns & runs her old company. Ironic how democrats want to erase Abraham lincoln or General Eisenhower for anything but the democrats ignore what their own do or did, help germany during ww2 & support stalin, hang out with predators like bill clinton or other big donor democrats its ok but live 250 years ago or earlier get erased no matter what you did or didn't do or just because of skin color. Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot Chairman Mao & the kims have all oppressed millions of people and killed innocent people but that gets ignored especially by obama & biden. To obama & biden it's ok Bashar al-Assad that kills oppresses his own people even with wmd but so how according to democrats Abraham lincoln is bad. Bashar al-Assad can use chemical weapons on his own people to hold onto power but Isreal can't defend itself against murdering criminal terrorists who break into homes & tortured murdered beat anything & everyone not muslim.

Bill Burr has a knack for saying things that sounds outrageous, but then he makes you realize that YOU know there's at least some truth in what he's saying. He doesn't force it down your throat; he draws it out of you.
He should be a police interrogator. He can do good cop and bad cop at the same time.

Sean Connery said that if a woman has been given fair warning and she has been given the last word on a subject and that still wasn't good enough he would slap her as a last resort, he stood by those comments in a later interview with Barbara Walters , you can have your own view on that statement however you can't say you don't know where you stand if you were in a relationship with him . He said slap not punch by the way as some have tried to say.

it's good to remember that we've come a long way from that time. In many western countries marital beating went basically unpunished and unreported until 80-90's, marital SA was criminalised only lately. Corporal punishment at home or school is something we still remember having happened in our childhood. And was widely accepted. Times change for the better, and so it's useless to judge someone by today's standards if something they made was common and acceptable back in the day.
I wouldn't physically hit women but I will always remind them that I'm in charge.

I don’t know if It has been mentioned before, but Bill Burr was a little off about the Sean Connery reference. He was referencing a Barbara Walters interview of Sean Connery. Barbara Walter’s was selectively truncating a Playboy magazine interview of Sean Connery, published in the early 1960s , at the beginning of his James Bond career. Ian Fleming wrote James Bond as a hard-edged spy,, who was not above being rough with women. Playboy asked him about hitting women, and he replied along the lines of - there are worst things you can do to a woman other than hitting. Things like you can leave her ‘with child’, leave her destitute, etc. When Walter’s tried a ‘gottcha’ question about it (15 years or so after the publication), his look at her was colder than Pluto. He immediately schooled her on it, and man did she move off of it. It was the first time I ever saw a “journalist” (who by definition is supposed to get the facts, and not skewer them for their own sound bite) get taken to task. She thought she was so clever, and she ran up against someone who didn’t flinch, and publicly shamed her for a insincere question.

That reminds me of Bill Burr routine on hitting woman and context, and it being socially acceptable for a woman to hit a man, but it not acceptable the other way around. I'd say neither is acceptable and should be punished on exactly the same level, but even today that's not the case! Please get things and times into context, times change, culture and social acceptance change, don't take face value on your standards like they have been there forever. More than ever society and technology are changing fast, it's hard to keep up for me with 45, tiktok (Which I've never used, but I have kids and see them experience things), and a like...I think of myself of being a gentleman, but even that is out of date, when I try to be, it looks like I'm being weird!
