The absolute horror of a child telling the parent to shut up is almost unimaginable to me. But here's the thing, that level of disrespect by a child can only mean that the child can - and will - do worse to an outsider.
I’ve always felt like that. I don’t want a child who’s disrespectful to their parents around me because if you treat your parents like that how will u treat me.
I am 46 years old, my mother passed away 8 years ago, I still wouldn't have the nerve to tell her to shut up today for fear she'd claw her way out of the ground to beat my ass.

Not at all. I was definitely much more of an asshole to my mom than I ever was to anybody else. There was a lot of personal baggage there that I didn't have with outsiders.

Agree with you regarding the female interviewer, but not Greg Kelly, the male interviewer. I remember him during his Fox news days as being a total stud: a marine pilot in the reserves during his reporting on the Iraq War post 9-11, doing his reporting from the front lines, riding in a tank. He stayed in the field with the troops during the entire invasion, all the way into Bagdad. His dad, Ray Kelly, was the longest serving Commissioner of the NYPD: another tough guy, man's man so to speak, must be in the DNA with that family. During this interview, I could tell Greg wanted to say more but was restraining himself due to morning show restrictions. Wouldn't surprise me if Greg and Bill were later found yucking it up in the hallways after the show and that Greg was already a fan.
Greg Kelly. Sexual assault, defending so-called Proud "Boys", moved to NewsMax (where truthiness dwells), treats other vets like garbage, whines about a pizza party with Biden visiting some soldiers in Poland (while still finding time to whine about who got the first slice, an Army soldier handed Biden a slice, BTW.) Anybody on Greg Kelly's team is garbage.

How you are with your parents is about respect. My mother used to tell me to wait until Dad came home to get my punishment. Not my sisters, just me. When he arrived I got the belt if I'd done something unacceptable or upset the neighbours somehow. It taught me about right and wrong. At 15, when I complained one day about something trivial, my Dad told me I could leave if I didn't like it there. Great life lessons for an impressionable kid from a good man who had my best interests at heart.

Credibility immediately gets derailed when people mention the clowns on Internet getting angry and I don't mean that as an attack on the laydeeee. People always dissect shows and movies for things they hate and throw hissy fits.
I guess that's why we love Bill: He's not afraid to say what is on his mind but not in a way where he's attacking specific people.
Bill burr is the humble talk we all need. You're be feeling good about yourself and he's the type of honest guy to walk up and be like "Why are you such a little bi*ch"? I came from a strict Italian family. I even got smacked by my 4’10” grandma because she didn’t like what I said. Discipline and respect is taught in the Italian household. We looked down on other people who didn’t have structure and discipline in the house.

The yellow couch comment was a 'left field comment.' This is a communication tool. Stand up comedians worth their salt have refined this. It is designed to bring confusion so the other person has to stop, try to find a connection in the conversation thread that doesn't exist. Then the stand up comic moves in for the punch line. Russell Brand is an expert in this sort of deflection of conversation that you have already moved on in the conversation before you realise he has led the conversation. Funny and smart.

Loved your observations. Yes, today's kids stand on the shoulders of giants and think they are tall. Regarding talking back, that is on the parent. My sons friend did it to his father. I simply said two things. Who are you to treat your father this way. He works his ass off so you have a good life. Then I told the dad, I won't see a thing. You could tell he had never been taught where the line was.

My dad never spanked me. It was my mom who was the issue lol. My dad would just tell me how disappointed he was, and that hurt way more than my mom spanking me. Then it got to the point I didn't care about being spanked and I just did what I wanted. But it all came together at the end. I graduated college like they wanted. And now I work in a field that is almost what I studied lol. I'm a biologist who does marketing for a pet company lol.
