Bill and I are so similar it's insane... I guess those articles you see about divorce having quite the psychological effects on children are true.( In my case). Also relationships are truly overrated and people need to chill and plan out their lives a bit more before jumping into it.

You are 100% correct momo, I also spent a few years figuring myself out, so I would stop picking women that were opposite of what I wanted. Turns out, I was very broken for a number of reasons, few of them were from women I had dated previously. I didn't even understand how to correctly identify emotions, and once I did, I see the same issue in most people.
What do you mean by "correctly identify emotions"?
I think one of the greatest reason why many relationships suck is because one or both individuals have never talked about why they want to be in a relationship(or hell even thought about a reason.) If one person is just looking for some casual romance and sex and the other is looking for someone whom may become a spouse then the relationship is going to crash and burn.

I decided to go single about 6 years ago and it's been awesome and really see no reason to be in a romantic relationship in the future. Putting my energy into me and my growth and development instead of wasting it on some Laaaaaaaydeez has lead to many good experiences and outcomes. Also single does not mean lonely, you only feel lonely if you are unable to handle being alone with your own thoughts.
Most of the time single does mean lonely. Especially for men.

I agree with you. I know people who need to be in a relationship and then they end up bad relationships. I think they probably aren’t happy with themselves and are looking for validation from someone.

The thing about attracting wrong type of person and dating only those type might come also from specific self-conditioning - we tend to generalize and adapt to our environment - if we see all men or women around us or in relation with us acting specific way, we assume (subconsciously, but also at conscious level to some degree) that it's normal and we shouldn't expect anything else. That's why so many ppl stick to all kinds of vicious circles. And that's the "calling for help" BB is talking about (or at least part of it). As for relationships, I thinks they rank like this: being with someone happy > being alone > being with someone unhappy. In 1st case you share happy moments, you can talk about them, you can rely on each other etc. When you're single, you can invest in your hobbies, discover yourself, have more time to work over yourself and freedom to decide about everything. In 3rd case, you lose most of advantages of 1st and 2nd case in exchange for maybe cheaper life, some stability and sex. There is much more to all that, but I don't want to write dissertation about that. :)

10:30 Knowing what you want out of a friendship before stepping into a relationship is prob really good. And for some reason people don't give relationships time. If there is physical attraction between two. Great. That's where you start. Then its about exploring and doing things that are exciting. Having fun together and sharing great moments together.
Instead, I think a lot of people dont know what they want (men and female), are not interested in what the other person wants or to dumb to understand(I feel this is almost always the case when I hear men complain about their wife/girlfriend) and they don't want to put in the effort to keep working on themselves and their relationship. To me its no surprise that 50% of marriage fails. Because a lot of people just are not that adventurous or active. And it's easy for someone to say after 5 years of the same complaints: you know, I'm better off without this shit. It's not gonna change so why do I bother: give me my freedom back.

First thing is there's no such thing as unconditional love outside of the love of a parent to a child. From a man's point of view, you are only loved under the condition that you provide something. That's just the way it is. It's not a complaint. It's just the facts. Most people dating or in relationships expect perfection from their partner while looking for their partner to overlook their imperfections.
I've been single for a long time and i've been hurt a lot, but if I don't heal my wounds, I'll go bleed on someone who did't hurt me. You need to love yourself and you need to know how to make the other person love him/herself more.

I don't think BidDaddy understands... every man has been through the same shit this dude has. The difference between him and a "mature" guy is just in how he dealt with it internally. This dude is just angry and perplexed at some finer points of normal female behavior. Which are often infuriating and perplexing to young men. Hopefully he doesn't hurt someone (or himself) before he "matures". It a bit sad for me Nia is so clueless she dismisses him as a complete nut-job without a second thought.
I believe the guy forgot one key thing. People are social creatures who make relationships with other people, places, and things. We make relationships with complete strangers in our mind at times. We feel sad when something close to us is disheartened, destroyed, or hurt in some way. Guys may have more relationships with guys as that is what we do. Women are the same. All our relationships are very from complex to simple. Nothing is a one size fits all style of relationship. One thing for sure you hold friends and family (wither blood family, found family, or fuzzy butt family) close. You find those you can sink with. The universe has this magical way of sending what we are looking for. Sometimes, we keep getting the same caliber of person over and over. Does this seems to be what we are meant to be around?
No, we may get these people over and over just for the universe to point a big finger at us in order for it to jackhammer in this one simple point. The point is "This type of person is not good for you. Wake up and remove them from your life." As we all can be stubborn... we all may not initially hear it. Some may never hear it. Others are smart enough to listen possibly the second time and be like, "NOPE! Not doing this again."
As we are social creatures, we do this over and over. We start allowing this into our hearts and it flows through our romantic relationships. We start letting this effect our hearts and we go through the same type of person we fill attracted to. We deeply know the warning signs but we ignore them. We realized falling in love feel amazing. We cling to what feels amazing to ignore the pain and discomfort of the day to day or the past. We aren't perfect, but yet we keep doing this.. like that old broken record still revolving on the turntable. We have gotten use to the scratches, distortions, and even silence to find the twisted beauty in it. Finally, that record that is our most cherished relationship (at that time) and it breaks. The shards rip into our hearts and minds. We do not know how to remove the pain... so we write, sing, paint, insert something here that is constructive...or do something drastic and possibly destructive. With romantic relationships, this stings the worst. Then we may release an article, "Relationships are like overrated" becuase we simply refused to listen and ignore that type of person.
While there are some good points that we all can agree on, there is more vile hatefulness woven into the words. It is designed to push buttons especially with the fairer sex. Women more so than men have been brought up to rely on relationships ever since the dawn of time. It is apart of the 300 million year old programming we simply can not turn off without great effort. Some get it turned off by force others may never have it turned on. With it turned off or never turned on... we get some of the worst sort of people mankind has known. Many have forgotten, we survived through the trials of the planet becuase of our differences between male and female, regardless if it is out physical, mental, or emotional dimorphism.
After all this time... all these millions of years. We should still be try to be social, find happiness, protect one another, inspire the younger generations, and most of all... keep on living. Because as we seen from the article, when you are dead on the inside... you can be very hateful and be poison to those around us and especially to ourselves. You won't grow becuase you will always compare the next to thing to the thing that failed you. To me, that is a very sad existence.

Best line on this I've heared: "If you take the same set of unexamined presuppositions to every relationship the same fate will play out". In other words if you think of women in a oneside cardboard kind of way. Then a woman is gonna react the same way every time to whatever the heck you are expecting from her or projection onto her.
But if you take a step back and listen and grow as a person then you are both going to be able to relate to each other on so many more levels. If you don't move beyond your own bullshit-game you are never going to see the potential of what you could achieve with someone: best advice imo.

Maybe it's not a case of only attracting a certain type of person and it's a situation where those type of people are the only ones around. Everyone's worldview is built of their own experience and if the only available people are exactly as he describes then of course in his mind ALL women are like that cause that's what his real world life experience has taught him to be 100% correct. Same goes for the opposite, if the only people you've ever met and know are all wonderful lovely people then that's what you think other people are and horrible nasty people only exist on tv as that's the only place you've ever seen them.

This dude has been hurt or is hurting for a long time, he's angry and confused and lashing out. Nia is just as problematic for dismissing him and referring to him as an asshole instead of what he really is, a lost and tortured soul who needs guidance. Finding somebody who is truly compatible is extremely difficult and even then making the relationship work takes a lot, so people are going to have frustrations along the way and come to some unhealthy conclusions sometimes. I believe you should focus on being happy and content with yourself and by yourself first, before seeking out a relationship. Sort yourself out, conquer your issues, and be content with and find your own self. I disagree with the notion that being single is lonely and you're missing out on something by choosing this path. For some people this is preferred, and there isn't anything wrong with them and you shouldn't pity them either. I could continue to rant about the pros of being single and the cons of having a partner but I'll end this by saying; you should take life as it comes at you and try to make the best out of your situation. Constantly seek to improve yourself and never force something that feels unnatural. For some this might mean not having a partner.
Single and an old white man and I love it, there's a price to pay on either side of the coin so it's what you prefer. I came to the conclusion I'm to selfish to share space time and feelings with someone equally gave it a shot a few times not for me, and don't hate women but there emotions are no fun for me, whew. 😊

Guy's trying to point out the fundamental differences between how men and women view relationships. He's more right than wrong. Nia's knee-jerk reaction does more to prove his point than not, as Bill astutely points out. Sure, he's got issues. But who says he needs to fix that, if he is happy that way. Welp, first off he is a comedian, and any woman who disagrees with what he says should keep in mind exactly what kind of comedy he does. He is not the sweetness and light kind of comedian. If you are all about womans rights, you need to listen to all of his skits to get the undertone of truth he brings out in all of his material. Also he often says he may be wrong about some of the things he says. So it isn't all about being mature or not. Listening to him makes you realize his style is not only negtive, it has an angry tone to it. Being a comedian is an act, and your objective is to make people laugh or at the very least think outside the box. It is also his personality based on experiances. I can't take any offence at what he says because of the reasons stated above. I know it's not personal and I don't take it as such. As I see it, neither should anyone else.

I think it's hard to balance what is wrong with you are a person, the people you are choosing to date, the way you are handling those relationships, and what you actually want out of that relationship (being honest with yourself). Like if it's a one night stand be honest with yourself and if you want to make it real do that and express it, but women and men hating each other based on their own baggage is just plain immature. You have tons of single mothers out there and tons of lonely guys (some of whom are fathers). Sounds like you all need to figure it out. Guys need to be more comfortable dating mothers (yea the kid isn't yours and its a burden) and women need to date average men instead of high value men (sweetie if you were a prize you wouldn't be available). I've also seen that women who have a career and make tons of money also end up alone or jaded with men. The issue I have with this is that they think men care how much money they make (some do, but most want to live a purposeful life).
These young women have been lied to that they need a career and that they need freedom from men, but they've only shrunk their dating pool by making more money. Most divorce happens because the women initiates it and often a point of contention is that the man is making less then her, "He isn't ambitious enough". I want women to go out and make money and be free, but also not judge the value of their man by his ability to make money. However If you are going to do that face the consequences of making that bag.

that mentality contradicts being close to people that love you and you love because eventually, you become the third wheel. they end up in relationships with families and being happy. when will you form your own family (romantically with children, not substituting with pets and friends)? of course, finding the right one for it. i saw a couple crossing the street, they must’ve been in their mid 80s, but they’re energy seemed like they were in their 20s holding hands and when they crossed, they man turned to the lady with a big smile and kissed her. i saw her their expression and i know they were completely in love. you can’t tell me that is overrated. i’m not in a relationship, but i know that’s what i want and i know that’s worth more than all the treasure in this world. that’s a true story about the elderly couple and it’s my motivation on being on the lookout for the love of my life
