    Jobs was a hell of a salesman. He persuaded big money to invest in Apple at the start. And he sure as hell sold a LOT of iPhones from the day they were introduced. Apple’s market share in the cell phone space is over 50%. Pretty awe inspiring.

      Well for each their own, i think Steve wasnt that important. The only important decision he did that helped tech was simplify the smartphone design so buttons were reduced on minimum. That was a smart decision that reached the mainstream and his presentation acting was on point, he could talk for hours and sell you shit as if it was gold.
      From a technological point apple wasnt very innovativ compared to other big tech companies. Most designs they used were allready ideas that other companies used, but failed to market them right. Apple over the years bought, borrowed and stolen many ideas. For different products like the ipad, iphone, OS and that was a driving factor for apple. I you want to learn from Steve Jobs its how to steal and make more money out of it as the owner.
      In his own Words:
      "Picasso had a saying. Good artists copy. Great artist steal. And we have allways been shameless about stealing great ideas." (Steve Jobs 1996)
      Nowadays the market is even easier for apple, because all new research from the US Universities is transfered to apple, because they have so much market value. So they didnt have to do much work for new innovations and can sell it for high profit.

      Jobs was a fraud & one of the most abusive people let alone "executives". he didn't do anything. All they did was make PCs in pretty little color cases instead of the one color PCs most everyone else at the time was doing same with the iphone. Stop trying to make jobs something he wasn't. I'm not a Henry Ford guy but Henry Ford actually created something & then came up with a way to better produce it faster & quicker allowing for the price to be lowered so more people could buy it & even at lower prices the company started making more profit on each car & because they were selling more cars. Musk is no different he didn't invent the car or even the electric car he just was more a sales person then any other car maker & at the right time as more & more idiots started over looking history & started allowing themselves to be brainwashed. Even Musk admits he didn't invent anything. The steel & plastic for the telsa cars & the tesla charges come from the same fossil fuel factories that any other gas or diesel car comes from & destroyed tesla's still end up in the same land fills as destroyed gas vehicles. THe only difference is that instead of gas they run on batteries which are highly inconsistent especially in weather & use rare earth metals which are mined by slave labor & low paid workers mostly kids & exploited from Africa to china where other low or slave labor turns them into other things that tesla then buys & makes into batteries or puts in their cars then turns around & sells for 80,000 - 100k. Teslas still break down & end up in the same landfills as any other vehicle. They don't just turn into water or get recycled into a soda can or another new tesla.

    Rollerblading was a thing in the mid 90's
    In the 80's it was those 4x4 rollerskates but in the 90's those cool inline rollerblades came.
    Then a few years ago i saw antiques roadshow and they had a pair of metal rollerblades that looked just like the 90's one's from the 1920's.
    Fashion man !

    Elder Millennial here: No, I'm not as old as Bill Burr, but I'm old enough confirm what he said about rollerblading. Circa 1992-96 rollerblades were everywhere (as they should have been, it was a lot of fun). Then it came out: if you like rollerblades, you were gay (90s being a much more homophobic time)... and overnight, they disappeared.

    Rollerblading only lasted a year or two from what I remember, 2004 or 2005 maybe. They exploded on the scene, sold like hotcakes, and then they became associated with being gay and then seemed to disappear over night. I had a pair and they were a bit gay, granted wearing them with my jean cut off short shorts didn't help.
    Recycling has long been known to be a scam. The only thing I recycle is metal cans.
    I don't see the point of buying an expensive phone. They're outdated a week after you buy them and today a cheap one can do almost anything an expensive one can. Case in point, in 2005 I spent over $3K on a laptop and just 9 nine years later I go to replace it figuring I'll have to spend about double to get something comparable, only find out at that point a $300 laptop from Walmart can do 10X's more than my old one. Spending money on other people is fine with me, but when it comes to myself I'm cheap as hell. I've always owned some LG piece of horse shit but recently I purchased a refurbished Samsung Galaxy for $65 and I still can't believe I spent that much in a disposable piece of plastic, it's still in the box, I can't bring myself to activate it.

    If Apple was a house, Steve Jobs wasn't the bricks, the beams, the windows, the roof, the doors, the electrics or the plumbing. But he was the glue that held it all together. It's something and nothing at the same time. If you think Steve Jobs was nerd Jesus, just go live in some glue. 😂

    I gave Steve a bad review in 1993.
    At the time, he was just another washed up CEO trying to make a come-back
    But he was Steve Jobs
    He was trying to do a $20+ K desktop for consumers (NeXT) (I am not sure if I am remembering the price point correctly)
    Not enough application software to be useful, and price point too high for consumers
    Engineering workstations could do it for about $60- 90K (my memory is fading)
    But he was 20-25 years ahead of the capability of the microprocessors, memory, storage, I/O, network, and applications at the time
    Today, we can do easily what he wanted in 1993
    But Bill Burr is right. One of Steve's skills was to demand things beyond what could be done.
    I would not want to be on the receiving end of Steve's orders.
    But it was cool as a young industry analyst to have the man, the myth, the legend right in front of me
    do his pitch
    I am an old man now. Great memories.

    The issue is recycling technology is still way far off. It takes more energy and other resources than normal to recycle those tires then just make it from scratch.
    I have an andriod phone too. Steve Jobs is an image and a good boss but not the brains. The idea guys do deserve credit as much as the ones making the techbology.

    *edited because rollerblading and things distract me so deal - ive been stopped by the PoPo 2x.. both times for distracting traffic... once was when I was roller blading on a newly paved street outside the Univ where I was teaching... I wore roller blades after hours because my printer was two fu@k!n buildings away via skywalk connections and it was fastest transport... but then I saw the fresh pave... the cop dude just said "please stop... you're going to cause an accident". But it was soooo smoooooth like buttah. The second time was a different thing but same effect... breaking no laws but they didnt like me and my roomie being a distraction by Fidiocy involving a garbage can rolling support, a heavy wind, and a disembowled comforter used as a sail (had two gfs run up to us saying "I knew it was you!!!") ... i think that F the Police being played by a neighbor didn't help. ... ... another great react... 07:19 and aftah

    It cracks me up when people dismiss visionaries. Every person that comes up with a world changing idea needs a team to make that happen. Point is without that visionary the idea would've potentially never happened. For some reason the public who don't understand anything about what's involved to bring something to market want him to have been a one man show. That's a ludicrous concept. Sure Woz did the original coding. But engineers typically have tunnel vision and do a task not provide creative solutions. You need a dreamer. And Jobs surely was that. He brought all the pieces together.

    • @nikolah.8472
      @nikolah.8472 10 месяцев назад

      Visionaires thinking ahead....Jobs was a rationalist. He recycled flopped ideas from other companies, rethink the design to make it easy accessible for the average idiot and sold them for gold.

    • @halhansen778
      @halhansen778 10 месяцев назад

      I agree 100%! Also, we forget, Jobs has a couple hundred GRANTED patents in his name. Who owns the rights to the patent - or is licensed to use them, is a different subject. Only the originator's name can be on the patent. So Jobs was also a creator.

    • @nikolah.8472
      @nikolah.8472 10 месяцев назад

      @@halhansen778 i would take that with a grain of salt, because he only take it as the firm owner. You can take other companies products and slightly adjust some parts and call it your own, what Jobs did in most cases. Hording Patents is essential for every big company to hinder competition and sue every new company on the market.
