I think it's great that Matpat is guest starring every once in a while. The new Theorists get to flaunt their stuff and he gets to take a back seat to be with his family only showing up when he feels like it. I enjoy all the new hosts and it's clear that everyone involved is happier for it.
I know fleshbeds aren't real, but there is a real and rare condition people will have that they will lay on a bed or a couch and can't exactly get up... it is more of an emotional, anxiety situation... after being on the bed or couch for a long time, you can indeed melt into the furniture.

You know, if you think about it, each one kinda represents a different fear of death. Death while sleeping, death without a legacy and death from impending doom. The idea is that it's all handled with laughter, which is what I feel is the message, is kinda the reality we as people are facing. It would also explain why the anomalies are still. We haven't changed how death happens, merely how we reacted to it.
I'd like to add that sometimes the laughter might not be an indication of enjoyment and rather an indication of stress. I have times where I laugh during highly inappropriate moments because I'm so nervous and stressed that it's hard to do anything else.

A suggestion for matpats next retirement project, maybe a "Theorist" show? A generalised podcast style talk/game show hosted by matpat, maybe around half our 40 minutes long going over various topics from across the four channels! Deep dives into could-have-been theories of the past, additional viewpoints or tidbits for recent theory videos that were cut for time, special guest starring other gaming/film/food etc youtubers for variety, perhaps even the theory channel hosts themselves can appear once in a while? Just an idea and would fit mat well with his love for drama/acting and presenting! Similar vibes to game theory live, but more organised and with a loose script/talking points and some light editing.
Decent head-cannon, but my thought for why the laugh-track is present is that the normal "viewers" of the show are eldritch beings that see humanity like how you'd see an ant, if not lesser, and we aren't supposed to be watching.

HEY FILM THEORY YOU HAVE TO MAKE A VIDEO OF THE INSIDIOUS MOVIES TRUST ME (in the insidious movies there is one thing that really confuses me. in the movies ‘if you dont know’ people can go into this dark place when they are “hypnotized” or something, they can sometimes talk to their younger self while they are in the present but the older version is also in the present. if you watch the movies i know you’ll pick it up Very easily. there is more when it comes to the “further” that is super confusing. this would be an awesome film theory video and would love to see it) ❤️

At 7:23, Matpat calls Napoleon Bonaparte "The Short King", but it's not *this* Napoleon that is the short king, it's his nephew: Napoleon 3rd, who was dubbed the "Short" by Victor Hugo, a famous french artist in 1851. But the common misconception is that "short" was linked to his size, but it is linked to his inability to reign as he usurped the power in France.
Napoleon Bonaparte is actually 1m69 (around 5'5" to 5'6").
Edit: another nitpick, neither of those 2 Napoleons are "kings", they are both French Emperor
