That is me sometimes tbh, very angry and annoyed. When I would listen to Lordship salvation preachers and that whole calvinist group. Miserable.
I mean, I've seen several folks with the right gospel be pretty heated. Jacksmack in particular can get rather brutal. I've also seen lots of folk with really, really, really bad doctrine and a 'gospel' message that's so far off the mark you'd think they were reading from the texts of manmade religions be completely calm and all smiles and sweet, gentle words. Do not underestimate them.

Acts 10:44: "While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word." No prayers were said. No works were done. No baptisms. No TURNING FROM SINS was mentioned. These gentiles HEARD the Word, BELIEVED, and were saved.

Yet according to the new ifb the only way to get saved is by asking Jesus to save you, and they claim that every example in the bible where someone gets saved the person calls upon the name of the lord/asks to get saved.
Do you know what the NIFB answer to acts 10:44 is? They say: since we already know this doctrine is true.. they must have called upon the name of the lord. . Their conclusion is that God simply forgot to have it written down in the scriptures for us.
Well with that kind of an attitude anything goes. If we are going to accept a doctrine to be true on the basis of "we know it is true eventhough it is not found in the scripture since God forgot to write it down"....

If you hear the gospel and are convinced it is true and put your confidence in Christ and his promises the rest will work itself out as you are sanctified through the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit in you and mature in understanding of God’s will for your life over time. Jesus is God and is life. He showed us love, grace, mercy and forgiveness on the cross and defeat of death through his resurrection.

NIFB really need to drop this prayer mandate for salvation, it’s honestly just ridiculous and is pretty much adding to the gospel and potentially causing others to believe in vain🤦🏿♂️
I really hope that will happen, but I doubt they will ever change their mind. If anything it seems they only get more and more hardened to the true faith alone gospel every time Ono exposes their errors.

This is really picking hairs. Everyone who is saved has called upon the Lord one time or another. Even the thief on the cross called out to Jesus “Lord remember me…” Hannah called out to the Lord silently in prayer and God sent her Samuel. And yes, I do believe children are a gift from the Lord.

God hear my prayers. The last three years I’ve been struggling. Through my struggles I found Jesus he has carried me this far. So even as I struggle to support my children and myself I trust in you Jesus. Being a single mom things can be hard raising them alone. My husband is with God I miss him dearly. Both of my children are autistic. I started homeschooling them last year and they are now thriving. I also suffered a heart attack two years ago so I’m getting healthier everyday. As I struggle to pay my rent each month and as I struggle to buy groceries. I know God will make a way. Where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. I have faith! God has not forgotten me. Faith First!

Pastor Anderson once said verbatim "It's not asking that saves you, it's believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved that saves you. We're saved by faith."

Brother you have been a blessing to the body of Christ. Much wisdom has been given you by the LORD God. I’ve noticed the last few months in my efforts in soul winning the Holy Ghost made it known unto me that it is by faith. As hard and discouraging as evangelism can be at times. When a sinner comes to repentance it is by no prayer I have said over them neither them confessing their sins unto God. The supernatural rebirth has already taken place during the encounter God gives me. Thank you for your wisdom and love to Gods children.

This makes me very uncomfortable. These pastors are a terrifying combination of taskmasters, pharisees, legalists, and worse yet, authoritarians. The twist is so subtle that its like working for a boss where you have to walk on eggshells or risk losing your job. You look over your shoulder every day, and the boss lords your paycheck (salvation) over you every day. My skin crawls just trying to watch this.

I was always listening to everyone else saying you have to do this or that, and if you arw saved you will do this, or you are not saved if you do that. It just got to be too much because I knew I couldn't be what they were saying. So, one day, I just said, "Lord, I'm just going to believe I'm saved." That was about 35 years ago. Even though I wasn't always putting God first, I never doubted my salvation since then.

There wouldnt even be any Independent Fundamental Baptists if it werent for the SBC. No SBC church that I know of has ever said you must repeat a prayer to be saved, altho many of them do lead a person in prayer as the result of their belief. It is the Jack Hyles crowd that goes around getting people to repeat a prayer and POOF theyre saved. That crown is IFB, not SBC. Charles Spurgeon led a sinners prayer many times, and Independent Baptists love to quote him all the time/ remember there is a scripture that says "If thou shalt CONFESS with thy mouth, and believe in thine heart....thou shalt be saved".

Thanks ono. Exactly how i was reborn. Only i didn't have a human preacher. I was reading Matthew. 3 days later a verse which kept in my head caused me to believe on his name. I verbally said it out loud on my own and the days the weeks the months i recieved the filling of the spirit which turned an unbeliever to a believer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Oh but how that took time to see the treasure. Found it,resting in it from believing. The new creature.

One of many examples of an already righteous man calling upon the LORD to save/deliver him from physical distress and danger as calling upon the LORD is something done by already saved people.
The New IFB's version of reformed replacement theology prevents them from seeing the context of saved Jews calling upon the name of the Lord to save/deliver them from the day of the LORD and what will be happening during that period.

I fail to see how someone could teach so strongly that you are saved by believing and then turn around and say that you have to pray a prayer to be saved. Adding works to the gospel. I honestly didn't know these guys said this, I had only ever seen clips of them preaching faith and believing. These guys take Romans 10:9 out of context, as the very next verse totally refutes the doctrine they are trying to create out of one verse.

Onorado, I agree with you that we are saved as soon as we believe the truth of the gospel and put our faith in Jesus. But the Bible does say to call on the name of the Lord. Perhaps we have had a misunderstanding of what it means to ‘Call on the name of the Lord’. I prayed when I got saved but I prayed because I wanted to tell God what I believed even though he knows all my thoughts. God wants us to pray even though he knows our thoughts. Please give your thoughts on what it means to call on the name of the Lord. Thank you!
It’s perfectly reasonable to pray when you get saved, but it’s not required. Again, man’s responsibility lies in receiving Christ through faith, not requesting Christ through prayer. We have to be careful not to create conditions out of circumstances surrounding our conversion. Check out this playlist:

The Bible doesn’t say that. Romans 10 says if you call on the name of the Lord you’re saved. It doesn’t say it’s a prerequisite to being saved.
This is a similar logic problem to Mark 16:16. It says “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” This statement says nothing about those who are unbaptized but still believeth, therefore you cannot use this passage to say that baptism is a requirement of salvation.
Romans 10 is exactly the same. It says nothing of those who believeth but “calleth not” and therefore we can reach no conclusion.
Instead we can simply use Acts 16:30-31.
Paraphrased-
“What must I do to be saved?”
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Amen, excellent video! Many claim to be ‘faith alone’ but require more than faith for salvation. They’re double-tonged. The bible also defines prayer as a work:
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always LABOURING fervently for you in PRAYERS, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Colossians 4:12

I don't trust Anderson at all. I've heard him nail the Gospel, and I've heard him butcher it.
The best thing about watching Anderson preach, is imagining that Jack from LOST became a pastor after he left the island.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with calling upon the name of the Lord for salvation. Its biblical.
Asking for a gift is not works. Therefore, asking Christ to save you is not works.
Its good and ok to ask someone to pray with you or repeat after you after you have preached to them. Maybe they will believe during or after the prayer.
Its just not an absolute must to pray, the only absolute must is to believe.
However, for the soulwinners benefit, a prayer or confession is arguably the only way the soulwinner can know whether or not someone believed.
At the very least, the soulwinner should ask the person whether or not they have believed.

New pastor at the church I have been going to has been saying this 'believe and confess with your mouth' thing for salvation. I will bring it up to him but if he persists I will just leae the church.
I hear this calling upon the name of the lord/asking for salvation gospel everywhere, it's not a new ifb only thing.

It's so strange how they do not see they are contradicting themselves.
Salvation is either by faith alone or it is by faith + some extra requirement(s).
If you confront people with the fact that they are adding to faith alone they have to defend themselves with: No it is faith alone, the prayer is the faith, that is how you believe they say. But the very next verse romans 10:14 debunks this argument, it separates faith and calling, it makes clear that calling upon the name of the lord is done by a believer.
Especially Shelley has really taken a stance for calling upon the name of the lord being what saves you, and since he constantly gets rebuked he needs to come up with new arguments, and it just keeps getting weirder. I heard him admit now that salvation is actually a two step process, it's faith plus calling, and thus faith alone does not save, this is how far they have taken their false doctrine.
This is what this doctrine does, it destroys salvation by faith alone. They are preaching that you can believe the right gospel and go to hell because salvation is not about believing God it is about showing God through a set of religious acts that you believe.. (they seem to think God does not know who believes and who does not, He need you to tell Him).

All I hear is fear that these preachers don't have enough faith that Jesus alone will save them and because of that fear they want to strengthen it by works which is the wrong answer.

If you understand the entirety of the Bible!! It's aparrent that we as Christians should want to continue where John the Baptist, Jesus and the disciples left off!! That is getting people saved thereby they grow in Christ and his word and they in turn become disciples and do like wise and then continue that process until Jesus returns!! Plus it's important to keep the fold intact!! That's have help for basic necessities such as food,shelter, electricity!! Another thing that would be good is a call center to provide prayer, keeping in contact with those of the faith to make sure things are going well for each person!!

My pastor (which believes in confession) said calling upon the name of the Lord can be even a “i believe”. He said we do not receive salvation by faith, he said we must take salvation and receive it. He said we receive salvation and literally take it as it is handed unto us, by confession.

Receive is equated with believe. It's 100% internal faith/trust. Any physical act we do is a work be it prayer, study, get baptized.
Until saints grasp the context of Romans 9-11 being Jewish focused and then coming to faith in Christ and then after being eternally saved calling for physical deliverance/salvation from the day of the Lord they seldom turn loose of the ifb prayer model.

@@LivingingraceGood post. Just a minor point, though, the deliverance is not from the Day of the Lord, but from the wrath of satan. Believers are guaranteed exemption from God's wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9), therefore do not need to call upon Him for that (Romans 10:13-14). It's an eschatological prayer national Israel will make, after believing in Christ, to be delivered from satan's wrath into the Millennial age (Matthew 24:13).
If someone gives you a gift, is you reaching out your hands to receive it a work? Is the act of me reaching for the gift equate to earning it? Taking a drink of water, eating a piece of bread, walking thru an open door, calling out to the Lord, etc.
If someone GIVES YOU A GIFT, does it make sense for them to mandate that you ask for it?

The Holy Spirit convicted me when I was 12 years old, I came to Christ on the altar and I prayed these simple words from my heart which ached for salvation: "Jesus, save me, Jesus, please save me!"
Going to Christ in prayer and asking Him for salvation is an acknowledgement of the need for salvation, the only way you can know in your heart that you need to be saved is by the power of the Holy Spirit. Your prayer for salvation is an earnest plea from a lost sinner to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only person that can save you. The prayer is a desperate act of faith, it is falling down before Christ and pleading to Him out of a sincere and broken heart for salvation that only He can give.
These guys talking about what is commonly called "repeat a prayer" are correct in saying that this idea is wrong, it is wrong to tell people that all they need to do is repeat a prayer and they will be saved. Repeating words without any true conviction is not going to save you, reciting some pretty rehearsed words that sound good but do not come from the heart is nothing, God looks on the heart, if your heart isn't in it then no matter how pretty the words are or how many times you rehearse it it won't matter.
Do you know in your heart that you are lost? Do you know in your heart that if you were to die right now that you would lift your eyes up in hell? Cry out to Jesus for salvation, cry out to Him in your own words, ask Him earnestly for salvation and He will save you! The Lord is not reluctant to save anyone, man is reluctant to accept Christ but Christ is not reluctant to receive you.
Respectfully, your experience isn't authoritative. The uniform testimony of scripture testifies that the sole condition for salvation is faith. It's not faith + prayer, faith + water baptism, faith + self-reformation, etc. We need to be careful not to create a condition out of the circumstances surrounding our conversion. You may have prayed when you received salvation, but you received salvation because you believed, not because you prayed. God bless!

@@OnoDiamante Exactly. While one's personal salvation CAN include prayer, and often does, there is no "recipe" of steps to be taken in the proper order that must be done. The only common denominator in all salvation experiences is understanding that we are sinners who cannot do anything to save ourselves, realizing that Jesus died in our place to provide a way for all sinners to be saved, and accepting that for ourselves in faith.

I was explained the gospel and I believed yet I was lead in the sinners prayer. That seemed to help and be very simple to me.
I wasn’t analyzing what was the saving moment.
Are not the ones that are being criticized saying it’s not words but by faith?
I’m starting to feel once again dogma is creeping in and causing something that is not encouraging.
It’s like just me writing this - will get pushback from someone. I don’t think when the Bible tells us all who call on the lord will be saved we should then say that’s not how to be saved. I get it there’s a word of faith element on just saying the words without faith. That’s why believe in your heart and confess with your mouth is in the Bible.
