If we truly believe in Jesus, we will also believe what He said. If we believe what He said, we will also want to do (or not do) what He said. That is true faith, Amen.
See this verse here, the ESV translates it properly according to what the original Greek says. Study this verse in the Greek.
      John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

The Bible says in John 3:36:
Jhn 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
If “believe” were replaced by ‘obey’, it would make this verse a self contradiction. Given that the first half of the verse says believing in Christ saves the person. Unless ‘obeying’, in the second half of the verse, refers to believing on Christ, similar to how John 6:28-29 says that the _work_ of God is to “believe in him whom he has sent”:
Jhn 6:28 Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”
Jhn 6:29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
But don’t overburden yourself with the original meaning of words from Hebrew and Greek. We have God’s preserved and inspired word in English, and we can look at every word with assurance that this is what God wants us to read. God has used words that we may learn and define from the context they are in.
Check out Brandon Peterson’s RUclips channel, named: Truth is Christ. He demonstrates that as early as 1611, we had a perfect Bible in English.

Love the videos. I got saved when I listened to Dennis Roksers video on The Gospel. I struggled for a lot of years wondering if I had "saving faith" and listened to many different Bible teachers on RUclips. I always came back to John Macarthurs teaching as soon as I had assurance on salvation and that dude would get me so worked up on thinking I could never be saved unless I could surrender all. Honestly, Faith in Jesus death burial and resurrection is definitely a coming to Christ from the heart. These people love to add works and it frustrates me because the question comes back to, could I have genuine faith without works? I guess I could do that pridefully just to prove a point, yeah. But Jesus gave me a new heart where I desire what he wants, but I also sin a lot. He doesn't put a gun to your head and MAKE you do ANY works. But he may cause you to desire doing works. So you cannot look at what you do or your works for assurance. I know first hand. Took my like over 8 years to figure this out. God bless.

There are so many non believers in Jesus that it’s mind boggling and scary. Jesus did the one thing for man that was the most important event in human history. Believing in him as your savior for what he did is the one thing that makes us (true believers) unique. He made us a promise that was very simple, yet man has to make it something it’s not. I think it’s all so he (man) can get his share of the glory. Salvation is free. Thank God.

Who believes , saved and sins , will receive its chastisement ( because he who receives as son, he chastens

I.e: a child having trusting that their parents will take care of them.
Faithful: obeying someone and following order, whether it be ask of or is necessary to be done.
I.e: parents taking care of their children.
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I don’t agree with Sam and I’m glad his mistakes were highlighted. I think we need to not jump to conclusions about who is saved. Too many believers are ready to pounce on each other and label someone a heretic. If a professed believer put his faith in Christ for salvation he is saved. That same saved believer could teach and believe doctrine that is incorrect. If we believe in salvation by grace only, then the believer who adds to grace should be covered by grace unless they reject John 3:16. We can be wrong as Christians about doctrine. We cannot be wrong about who Jesus is and what he did for us. That determines everything.

I agree with what you say Vinyl, that we should not be arguing amongst ourselves but what if a false gospel is preached and the person being preached to is not saved.
      Remember Matthew 7:21-23
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23 KJV.
Remember the will of the Father is to believe on the son (John 6:40). But see in Matthew 7:21-23, these people called him Lord but they came with their own righteousness. "Did we not prophesy, cast out demons, works, etc." And Jesus says "depart from me". If you put 99% faith in Jesus, and 1% in yourself, you are still trusting on the 1% that is a filthy, rotten sinner, that deserve hellfire.

    • @Vinylfiend60
      @Vinylfiend60 4 месяца назад +1

@@goldengoose777 I disagree with part of what you say. Because I don’t think a person can put 99% faith in Christ and 1% in themself. People either put 100% faith in themselves and completely reject Christ, or they put 100% faith in Christ and incorrectly believe they must do works to maintain their salvation. I believe salvation is a onetime event and you cannot lose it. I believe the error happens when Christians combine salvation with sanctification. I believe they are separate things. Salvation is by grace alone and sanctification is a life long process of growing in your faith and cannot save you.

If everyone truly took God at his Word, we wouldn’t have so many people confused about how to get to Heaven. It really is simple to get to Heaven. The problem is people just don’t believe Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, or John 6:47. I truly think the reason why people reject faith alone is because of their PRIDE. They just can’t accept the fact that salvation is a free gift from God. They have to do SOMETHING to earn it or keep it. It’s sad.

    • @BansheeKing22

Try to see it from the other persons point of view.
Throughout life we learn that nothing is free and we must work and earn everything we get. Like a car or house or food on the table, etc. People getting stuff for free that they haven't earned is what's been happening especially in regards to the border crisis. So it's completely natural that many would be understandably angry about that. Someone else getting for free something the other person had to work hard for.
The idea of earning something over getting it for free is ingrained in many good headed people so if you have an issue understanding why so many have the problem of understanding how salvation is free then there's an explanation as to a possible reason.

Angels don’t understand the Gospel. They believe in God and they know that Jesus is God but knowing that Jesus is God is not enough.
Romans 10:8-13 (ESV): 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
You have to believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins (Death burial resurrection) but the Angels can’t do that because they can’t understand it. Why are we able to understand it? Because of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit isn’t sent to angels it’s sent to mankind.

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10 KJV.
Now to address the "doer of the word". Let's see what Jesus says.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21 KJV.
What is the will of the Father?
"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40 KJV.
To DO the will of the Father is to BELIEVE in Jesus.
That does not mean that I am saying go and keep sinning. No! Because if you do good works, you will get eternal rewards from heaven, Jesus tells us so!
And if you keep on sinning you will still get punished on Earth (because believing in Jesus saves you from the ETERNAL damnation). For example if I am gluttonous, I will get obese and have a harder life. That is my punishment. There are many more examples but I will just do that one for this comment.

I do believe we are talking two different points, and perhaps the video is describing the same thing also, the matter of salvation, then after salvation(or sanctification).
The first thing I believe your describing is salvation, A man will be saved by faith, yes I agree, but then we will be further judged in our belief after we have been saved.
      1 Corinthians 3:13-15
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

As far as the epistle of James goes, so many skip right over the very first verse and ignore it. Who is James writing to? It reads: James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, TO THE TWELVE TRIBES [OF ISRAEL] WHICH ARE SCATTERED ABROAD. (James 1:1) He wasn't writing to Gentile Christians. This is why it seems a contradiction between what James writes and what Paul teaches. You'll also see some apparent problems in the book of Hebrews. Why? Because it was written to HEBREWS (Jews). All of Paul's other epistles are written to Gentile Christians.
In addition, I believe that James was written BEFORE Acts 15. In Acts 15, James, Peter, Paul and other disciples met in Jerusalem and they ALL agreed on the Gospel (Paul's gospel) and this was confirmed by the Holy Ghost.

If you have nothing but lip service saying I believe. That's not faith. And just because someone says Jesus doesn't mean that they are talking about the Son of God Jesus Christ. Obedience is how you follow, believe and have faith. Otherwise you follow a false Jesus. Many have their own custom Jesus that says that they can do anything that they want, have sex outside of marriage, be a drunk, do drugs have sex with men. But even in Roman's Paul gives a list of these things of people who do them will not enter into the kingdom of God. Peter as well warned for people who twist Paul's words to their own destruction. If you can not match all scripture in the new testament that means you have not rightly divided the word. Grace is beautiful and freely given. But even grace is conditional, because Jesus said if you don't forgive others My heavenly Father will not forgive you. And you will be judged by how harshly you judge others 💯 Jesus said I will have mercy rather than sacrifice. We are not under the old testament laws but we have a new Covenant Jesus said for us to do. Now as long as we show mercy and help others we have grace, but that is on repentance of our sins. Love is the fulfillment of the law. The law is love your God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. No one does that, but we should try. And to love your brother as yourself. And also most people don't do that. Calling yourself a Christian doesn't mean much but if you overcome your inner beast nature. This is also related to the mark of the beast. Beast do what they feel, but a man will govern his actions and not do evil 💯 because you are to love others and your life is supposed to be a witness 💯 that is that light on a hill. We all fall short I am a sinner as well. But it's the heart that matters as long as you are trying God is working with you. When you no longer care is when you may be in trouble.

We are saved by Grace through faith with no buts. Faith through action is works! Just because you repented of your sins and turned your back on sins does not mean you have quit sinning. But you say that to free grace people all the time that they go on sinning. What is the difference? So doing works (ACTIONS) does not prove faith. Believing proves faith. Jesus saved us, we don’t save ourselves. No matter what we do, we can’t save ourselves, short of believing.

I think what made me finally click and understand James better is that faith alone does not save you from the temporal judgement of God. When David disobeyed God, and killed Uriah, his faith did not save him from the temporal judgement of God, and he lost his son. You could even explain it in the example given by James with Abraham. He was justified before God by being faith and offering his son, because if he disobeyed, he would have seen judgement from God. Salvation is absolutely free and not conditional upon service to God.
False teachers redefine faith as obedience and belief as total commitment.
Let's help you with the Biblical definition of faith.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

It’s actually come to a point of ridiculousness with people attempting to equate faith with works. These clowns will do anything they can to make salvation dependent on man’s efforts. If our salvation depended upon our works there is no assurance or peace in the life of someone who actually thinks critically about their obedience to God’s laws. Redefining words like “Faith”, or “Belief” from something simple to something that they are not is about as nuts as people these days trying to redefine what words like “man” or “woman” are.

Wait guys, didn't Ephesians 2:10 say that we are created to do good works? Doesn't having faith in Christ as God necessitate our being obedient to Him when He tells us to increase in our knowledge of God, preach such to everyone, give to poor saints in need (and to the poor in general), and other good works?
I don't get where the disagreement is, guys. Aren't we--- like James, John, and Jesus--- saying, "the faith God graced us with saves us, and that faith will produce good works if it's real, like it did in our brothers/ sisters in Christ before us?" He prayed for us to be one as He and the Father are one, not bitter toward each other. This doesn't seem like the right spirit to correct a good brother who leads Muslims, Mormons, J. Witnesses, etc., to Christ, man. We should all beware of John 15:1-6 where Jesus says the branches that don't bear fruit are cut off and burned, too.

    [GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS THROUGH FAITH]
"But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
    [BOASTING EXCLUDED]
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. [THEREFORE WE CONCLUDE THAT A MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH APART FROM THE DEEDS OF THE LAW]."
    ~ Romans 3:21-28
"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, [YOU WILL BE SAVED]. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
    ~ Romans 10:9-10

[AND HE HAS TAKEN IT OUT OF THE WAY, HAVING NAILED IT TO THE CROSS]."
    ~ Colossians 2:13-14
"I have been crucified with Christ; [IT IS NO LONGER I WHO LIVE, BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME]; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. [I DO NOT SET ASIDE THE GRACE OF GOD; FOR IF RIGHTEOUSNESS COMES THROUGH THE LAW, THEN CHRIST DIED IN VAIN].”
    ~ Galatians 2:20-21
"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you-[UNLESS YOU BELIEVED IN VAIN]. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: [THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES], and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."
    ~ 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, [THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE]. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
“[HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM IS NOT CONDEMNED]; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
    ~ John 3:16-18
"[AND I GIVE THEM ETERNAL LIFE, AND THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH]; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; [AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO SNATCH THEM OUT OF MY FATHER’S HAND]. I and My Father are one.”

Do you really think someone influencing people to obey God along with the blood atonement of Christ is a child of hell? Isn’t that how the pattern was in the shadow of the New Covenant in the Old? We obey God though imperfectly so sacrifices for sin must be offered. Is it now all of a sudden we don’t have to regard God’s moral Law? So we can just sin? (Bible definition is, sin is lawlessness)
As it is written, “Be on guard so that you are not carried away by the error of the lawless” (2 Peter 3:15-18)
And 1 Timothy 1:8-11, the gospel.

    • @evangelisticoutreach1
      @evangelisticoutreach1 4 месяца назад

Let me also clarify, Jesus entered the Holy of Holies, the heavenly temple that the earthly temple in the Old Testament was a shadow of. As it is written in Hebrews Chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10. He offered Himself once for all time as our sacrifice for sins. He is our King and Priest forever in the order of Melchizedek Psalm 110, Psalm 110:4. What it comes down to is this, we are to obey God and Christ and practice and keep His Commandments. His blood then is our atonement to be applied to the conscious by faith now since we are in the New Covenant. If anyone does sin (just as they did in the OT while obeying God) they are to now call on the Lord for forgiveness confessing their sin to Him and the blood of Jesus is our atonement to be applied to the conscious by faith now. So we can move on and continue to serve and obey God, and serve Him with a clear conscience, and battle satan despite his accusations from within and without etc. We are to not sin (not break God’s moral laws, because the Bible says sin is lawlessness. We should not be lawless.) but if anyone does sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous and His blood cleanses us from all sin. As it is written in John’s Epistle. It is the same pattern as the Old Testament was, we obey God, we serve Him. Our High Priest intercedes to the Father for us with the sacrifice He made for the atonement of our sins, in our path of obedience. But now it is not the shadow anymore, the sacrificing of the animal. The real that the shadow in the Old Testament was has now come, Jesus Christ the Lamb of God. Amen
Observe and obey all that the Lord taught us, as He commanded us to do and teach. Matthew 28:20
