@@xHollow.I think the main issue is the amount of calvinists that will say you can't be 100% certain of your salvation unless you have tangible works to accompany it, which usually just becomes a weird mix of grace and works righteousness. but still, i think there are TONS of Calvinist's who honor God's free gift of salvation more than the majority of people.

5:37 No, repent does not mean 'turn from sin'. it simply means to rethink. In this context, it's to turn from unbelief to belief in Christ and His finished work of redemption. To believe in Christ is to repent.
Mark 1:15 reads "...repent and believe in the gospel"; why did they separate the two words if they mean one and the same thing?
Also, how should we understand Galatians 5:19-21 where Paul says "Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." If you believe in the finished work of Christ (and everything else according to your theology) but hold dearly onto these works of the flesh, what is your destiny in the afterlife? Life or death?

The folks at the church of Corinth were referred to as *saints* & *brethren.* They were saved believers, yet they were *carnal,* committing sins they did not turn from.

The kingdom of God (spiritual) is within every born again (saved) believer the very moment each believer got saved.
Just because we are saved doesn’t mean the Spirit eradicates the flesh. We still have 2 natures.

They don't mean the same thing. You have to change your mind, and then believe the gospel.
Repent is a word that solely means change of mind. The key to understanding what your mind or what someone else changed their mind about is the context of the surrounding words in the verse or passage of scripture. As we all know the three most important things to remember about the bible is: context, context and context.
I am now finding the word repent is the word to summarize how people either read with context or twist scripture. If someone uses it as "forsake sin" vs "change of mind," who knows how else they are twisting scripture.

There was one point in my life, where i loathed my sin so much, i wanted God to strike me with a lightning bolt.
I hated myself and was not far from acting it out.
It wasn't until I received the love my parents had for me that I realized God loves me even more.

I'm gonna honest I'm so glad i found free grace Christianity work based Christianity honestly ruined my whole relationship with God making me fear him. Every sin i did it could be small like just seeing a women on TikTok and think like damn she's hot and i immediately think I'm going to hell. Or doing good not watching porn for a month or 2 then i fall and immediately fear that God is gonna punish me for failing. I really thought oh because i stop watching porn that's why I'm going to heaven. Now i need to rewire my whole brain not to fear God and actually not be filled with fear 24/7 just because i sinned

Like everytime I sinned or did something wrong I felt like God is gonna do something horrible to me or I'm going to hell. everytime I repented it sometimes felt fake so I was like did God hardened my heart like the pharao am I going to hell which just filled my anxiety more, or I thought God is not gonna help me since I let him down so much or he's gonna leave me. @@pennytrui1149 I know what you mean, I was an unbeliever most of my life, Catholic for most of my life, became an an atheist, I was introduced to Christ last year by some folks, but they are Lordship salvationists, I followed Billy Graham a lot, rejected Lordship damnation, then I found the true gospel of Grace at the end of last year. For most of last year I repented of my sins every single day, was always in fear, always angry, afraid of losing my Salvation too, it's stupid what that heresy does to you.

Everyone is totally forgiven. Salvation happens when you believe he already paid for your sins on the cross. At the cross, you were forgiven. So you have to get reconciled
No, we are not forgiven already. We are enemies alienated at birth. The free gift is readily available but we have to receive it to be forgiven

But we don't start out forgiven, we start out headed to hell, and when we Accept the *Free Gift* we are forgiven then, and only then once we have Accepted the gift are we truly *forgiven* the gift is available to anyone, anywhere they just have to receive it, like you mentioned

Amen brother!! Eternal Security is such a vital teaching that is lacking within the Church and has led to many becoming frustrated with their walk instead of falling even more in love with Christ and His FINISHED work on the Cross.
The funny thing is, the most popular verse John 3:16 is also the most neglected 🤷🏾♀️ The gospel is very plain and simple but we neglect it. You take away the gift, the grace, the mercy, and the love of God if you feel you still have to be perfect or go to hell at the end of the day 😪 God knows we're not perfect, but he desires a relationship with us regardless. Will you open your heart to Him and let Him change you so you can draw close to Him, or will you choose sin and this world and continue to run from His presence? That's what it's ultimately about. Our works don't save us, but following God's commands help us navigate life, avoid Satan and his scheme, and be a witness to others about who God is.

I was just reading Samuel and God promises David, I will never take away the kingdom from you like I did Saul. Then David right afterwards willfully commits adultery and murder. People keep saying you grace people just want to sin and get away with it, but they don’t understand who God is and his gift. Also There is some heavy discipline for Christian’s who continue to sin. David’s child was taken, God said the sword will not depart from your house etc. Gods children who sin will be severely disciplined until they learn, but God established David’s throne forever. Same with our salvation!

@@Juplexxx the Bible says it's appointed to man (humankind) to die once and after that comes the judgement. Clearly this is saying that everyone will experience physical death as mankind is cursed with the reality of death because of the sin of our first parents Adam and Eve. Even though people die a physical death our human souls are immortal and will survive the death of the physical body and once a person dies their soul or spirit will immediately go to either heaven or hell base on if the person recvicied Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior when they was alive before they died. If a person truly repents and turn to Jesus Christ then when they die their soul goes immediately to go in the direct presence of the Lord and will spend an eternity with him but if a person never received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in their lifetime and they die in their sins apart from Christ their soul will immediately go to hell where they will experience torment beyond imagination.

I am trying to see Don’s heart through what I believe is pride and the desire to be right. The reality is that we all have a natural instinct to obey and a natural instinct to disobey. Most of us obey the laws of society or ourselves when it suits us and will disobey if we can get away with it. But once saved I believe that the instinct to disobey becomes harder to listen to because we have accepted the true authority who is Jesus and His Holy Spirit in us is nudging our instincts to obedience. That reality is hard to articulate and we should all be thankful that God judges us based on the internal and not the external. Yes all our sins are forgiven but understanding Christs sacrifice on the cross will nudge your instincts towards obedience and at the same time allow you to be comforted when you fail and have the courage to try again and again and again and again because you are not doing it alone. Your faith in Jesus for salvation is the same faith that gives you the instinct to strive towards obedience and the hope that it is possible because of where your help comes from. And it’s not from ourselves, but from Jesus.

In January I was on a train literally fleeing a city I had been in complete spiritual torment in when I happened to see one of your videos on salvation being truly through grace alone. The period leading up to that was completely miserable.
No peace, continuous agitation, demonic dreams and visions, weeping etc. Hated myself due to feeling condemned and was unable to receive love. Also, found myself in a legalistic church and meeting legalists. All extremely depressing. Thank God I was led back into the fold, beginning with one of your videos, thank you brother.

It's so confusing and back and forth and there's no assurance in "go back and repent again." How many times do I have to repent to know im saved in "works salvation"??? What an awful way to live. How do you "lose" your evidence? I could never "hold on" to my salvation. The things that go on in a human being's heart and mind on a daily basis are more than defiling enough to damn everyone and anyone to hell.

I'd have been out less than 24 hours later. There's times in my life where I might not have sinned physically, but my heart can swell with evil when I'm in a downcast mood and I have a mean tongue indeed at times.
By default you are already heading to Hell because of your sins but God’s Grace abounds and whoever accepts his Grace and what Jesus Did for us we will be saved from Hell.
The phrase “Repent of your sins” or “Repent from your sins” is not found anywhere in the Bible.
The word of God does not demand repentance from sin to be saved. Biblical repentance is directly tied to biblical revelation. This is not a turning from sin rather this is a changing of mind about who and what could solve your sin problem.
What people change their mind about is not “in” or implied by the word “repent” can be used of sin or it can be used of something good. Every verse in the bible that uses the word “repent” tells you WHO specifically needed to change their mind or thinking and WHAT they needed to change their mind or thinking about
I believe repent means to change you mind, metanoia in the New Testament most of the time. So it could be read change your mind and believe in Jesus. If we say we have no sin we are deceiving ourselves and don't have the truth inside us. If we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Who ever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God. The Lord told me you can't lose your salvation. I think this channel is one of my favorites on RUclips.

Why would I ever take my trust away from Christ and put it on myself? I'm honest with myself enough to know I could never turn from all my sins. No one is good enough to earn heaven!
I don’t think “repent” is about turning from sin, but turning to God for salvation that was made available through Jesus Christ, hence “repent for the kingdom of God is AT HAND.” Before Jesus came to this earth, the kingdom of God was afar (only a promise that was to come). Jesus was telling the people to repent because the Messiah is here. Repent from what? Take one look at the Pharisees who REJECTED the baptism of repentance (they rejected the purpose of God for themselves not having been baptized by John) & you should have a good idea. In the simplest terms, they did not believe Jesus was the Son of God.

We are kept (preserved) by God’s Grace from the penalty of our sin which is Hell by the Grace of God & not by our works. The only requirement to receive this wonderful gift of Eternal Life is to BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ that HE died for your sins AND rose from the dead.

Thief on the cross had no time to repent, ask for forgiveness, dedicate his life to Christ, get baptized in water. Thief didn't even call Jesus Lord or Savior, or messiah, yet Jesus saved him..What's that tell you. Salvation only takes the faith of a little mustard seed, and its permanent and instantaneous the moment you believe Jesus died for your sin and is the Son of God. Thief recognized Jesus as the Son of God and that alone saved the Thief. Salvation is not complicated. God made it easy or no one can be saved.

Salvation is a gift according to Roman’s 6:23 and Ephesians 2:8 and many other passages so we all can see that salvation is a gift right?ok let’s go to Roman’s 11:29 “Gods gracious GIFTS AND CALLINGS ARE IRREVOCABLE”(or without repentance) this is saying that God does not change his mind about his gifts so if God has started a work in you Philippians 1:6 he will finish it on the day of Christ. Listen God doesn’t have unfinished assignments he’s completed everything Jesus said on the cross “it is finished” not “it’s almost finished” God cannot lie so once ur saved u stay saved(Ephesians 1:13 Ephesians 4:30)

That man casts a heavy burden on us, I will not take that man. I hope he enters into that rest spoken of in Hebrews. It's so eerie to perceive exact replicas of pharisees in our day. Once you are a son you will be chastised severely by the father if need be but it's dealt with as a family issue 1Jn 2:1. It seems like some of the Corinthian believers were chastised with sickness and sleep (taken home) 1 Cor 11:30

Yes. I’m pretty sure the context of repent used here is repenting from the law of Moses (a big chunk of it at least). That was all they knew up until this point. They knew the Messiah would come, but John was telling them, he’s coming RIGHT AFTER ME, so get ready to abandon everything you thought you knew & HEAR HIM. So no longer being guided by the law of Moses & teachers of the law, but now be guided by the Lord Himself.

The "evidence" of salvation these people look for is already there, it's the resurrection of Christ. Jesus rose again after death on a cross because his one time sacrifice was acceptable before the Father, the sin debt was paid. If these self righteous people would stop looking at themselves for a moment, they'd see what Jesus really has accomplished.

@@Glory_be_to_Christis there a chance that John was saying that any & all sin is not of God, is not birthed from God, does not come from the Spirit of God, does not come from the Seed of God? We know Jesus is born of God, He knew no sin, & since we are in Him we cannot be in sin in that sense. This is why John says to stay in the light as He is in the light & the blood of Jesus will cleanse us of all unrighteousness. The key isn’t to “never sin” but to stay in the light so you can be cleansed & remain in fellowship. There’s no reason for Paul to tell us over & over again to forgive each other, be patient, bear with each other, suffer wrong, etc if the church is meant to be full of sinless perfect saints. Jesus takes it much further telling us to forgive our brother 70x7.
I would say “practice” and “commit” have the same meaning in this context. Because technically we all “practice” sin, because we all sin thought, word, and deed every day.

So clearly John knows there are different types of sin

Something an old pastor said in a YT video I watched a couple months ago stood out to me: he basically said, “as long as you’re still alive, you’re not too far gone in sin; because God will give a reprobate his due wages (death) the moment he goes too far.”
Studies show that there is not much difference in the behaviours of Christians and non christians. As an atheist, never meeting a Christ like Christian was a real stumbling block for me. Those declaring Lordship salvation completely fail their own test.
Having to do good things to be sure you are saved is diminishing the whole point of faith, faith is when completely trusting someone in what they promise you without seeing the whole thing. Faith and sight are different, if someone is trying to prove to themselves that they are saved by works is not of faith, it’s like saying “I have faith in you Jesus but just in case, I will do these works to be sure that you have saved me” that’s not of faith, that’s being lukewarm or being on the fence.

I don’t believe in a works based salvation but I have some questions. There are people who’ve been deliberately evil towards me my entire life and I’m sure they will until death. Why is God ok with that and why am I told not to be like them? Why are there no repercussions for the people who’ve dedicated themselves to making me suffer? This is a huge stumbling block for me and I’m losing sleep trying to reconcile this.

We have been led to believe about a future judgment for those that don’t believe, and the dangers of a place called hell. Hell, and endless punishment was never taught by Jesus the apostles or prophets. That all changed by the influence by Constantine and Augustine in 380 with the introduction of hell and eternal punishment and a future coming, to keep the illiterate masses under control. The Bible teaches that this hell was an actual place forsaken by God, with a beginning and an ending.

As many of you that has been baptized into Christ ,has put on Christ. Galatians 3:27 . To hand your sins forgiven the Apostle Peter said to repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38.

Ive been where Don is. He will grow out of it. I was like this 10 years ago. Experience and God changed me. I appreciate his passion but he is not right. I still struggle with a particular sin and I know im a child of God. Sin doesnt go away overnight. Therapy is needed sometimes. It takes time. The fact you feel guilty over your sin and you are trying is evidence of your salvation. Otherwise you wouldnt care.

I believe if he once believed on the true Gospel of grace then he is saved and if that is the case then he is in bondage. Someone got a hold of him as a new babe in Christ and has mislead him…..
Believing a type of theology doesn't save you. Believing the gospel of Jesus Christ does. Whether he is saved or not, no one knows but God.
That first chart with checks made what Jesus did on the cross for us pointless. The repent from sins check is basically saying be sinless now which is impossible which brings us back to the cross again. Jesus paid our price. The second check should say trust in Jesus ☑️
