Josh was correct that my Sean is a Dental Anesthesiologist and practices in St. Louis. One of his patients forwarded him the interview clip. We actually watched the video of the catch last Christmas and thought Sean's 15 Minutes of Fame was over after losing the state final later that weekend in 2003. The way he describes his mother's suffering during her treatment leads me to believe that her passing was a relief for her. As much as he misses her it must also have been comforting that her pain had stopped. To him death is natural and he greets it as an old friend.

A lot of interviewers won't ask these kinds of questions as not to upset the guest but you can always tell how much they appreciate it. From the Becky Lynch interview when she got to speak about her Dad or with this one. You can tell how much Sean loved being able to speak about his Mother.

Sean talking about his late mom and their last conversation before she passed really hit home and I hope he doesn't harbour any guilt as from experience even though the possibility of them passing could happen anytime given whatever circumstances you still never know when the last conversation will be.
At the end where Josh is thanking Sean for this show even exisiting also got me pretty hard, and not just because obviously it's Josh's favorite show they make and he's very proud of it but because it's truly created a pocket of magic in the internet where grief can be openly talked about and it's truly amazing to see Josh's interview skills.
