I didn't have it at school but I did grow up with it. We used egg noodles for the pasta. My dad loved this meal (occasionally he'd put peas in it).
that school lunch was supposed to be beef stroganoff i had it too, my moms was very good
I still make it for myself and I'm 39 years old, egg noodles and gravy is great.

gravy on pasta is one of my favorites, homemade chicken or pork gravy on egg noodles specifically, its so good. I got really sick for a couple months, had a really hard time eating, after a couple days of not being able to eat the one thing I finally ate was egg noodles and gravy, its just a perfect comfort food IMO.

Pasta sauce is basically marinara/tomato sauce

Can you find pizza sauce? Its basically the same thing. But yo make it all you need is tomatoes and some spices. The closest you'll get without it would be just ketchup on pasta or mild salsa thats been blended up. It won't taste like pasta sauce but you'll get the idea of what tomato and pasta tastes like.

Turkey tetrazzini over spaghetti was one of my family’s traditional ways of using up Christmas leftovers. It’s so comforting.
