I love (the missionary to China ) Hudson Taylor’s salvation story:
"One holiday, while alone in his father's library, Taylor picked up a gospel tract hoping for an interesting story before the inevitable moral at the end. As he read, the phrase the finished work of Christ caught his attention. He asked himself: 'What is finished?'
"Reared as he had been, the answer came quickly to him: 'A full and perfect atonement and satisfaction for sin; the debt was paid by the Substitute; Christ died for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.' Then flooded in the joyous conviction that if the whole work was finished and the whole debt paid, all that was left for him to do was to accept it. That he did and fell on his knees, praising God.”
So simple! So wonderful! Simply trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ!

I seen a video of John mcarthur 45 years ago confessing to be saved by Believing in Jesus Christ alone for salvation until he got carried away by different kinds of teachings, this can happen i can testify to this fact because three decades ago i got saved and only recently believed in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, I spent years in and out of living in anxiety and depression until I finally believed in Jesus Christ alone, believing that which I confessed with my mouth, what you speak you will eventually believe. Glory to God
( If you are living in Anxiety and depression thinking you can lose your salvation you have not believed in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, you can't add anything to the finished work of the cross, obviously good works follow believing and not the other way around, that's false. If we are creatures in sin until death, if one who says he has no sin in him they also have no truth in them, then how do we know how much to repent?? If sinning is not just the act but the premeditation of it then who can say they have repented of our very nature? The argument they apply on believing actually makes more sense with their belief.

When you have trusted in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation, then you have repented unto life, you have "called" upon the name of the Lord.
The purpose of Romans 10: 8, 9,10, is to put all of your confidence (trust) in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.
You don't have to ask for salvation.
You can if it makes you feel better, but it's not what you say that saves you, it's rather the object of your faith.

One who attended FWBC. A pastor leading a church doesnt want homos in the congregation, especially with many children. With that being said, Anderson has stated just because youve been a victim of homo acts doesnt make you reprobate. But, if you are a predatory sodomite you are probably reprobate, conversely, a reprobate has no problem being a sodomite, or serial murderer, rapist etc. theres a huge difference.

NIFB is wrong on this issue and it just breaks my heart. Norm is right, and this issue should not be difficult to understand. Bottom line: God does NOT hear the prayers of unsaved people (Isaiah 59:2, 1 Peter 3:12, John 9:31, Proverbs 15:29). So a person can confess with their mouth, pray the sinner's prayer, and call upon the name of the Lord all day long, and even get baptized, but until they first BELIEVE, God does NOT hear them and does NOT know them! The ONLY thing a person must do to be saved is to BELIEVE (Acts 16:29-31), and then and only then will the Lord hear them. Furthermore, their interpretation that a person MUST confess with their mouth creates a contradiction with Acts 16:29-31, and it is indeed adding to the gospel. If they are going to argue that a person MUST confess with their mouth, then they might as well go on and say that they must be baptized as well.

Here is my thought on this. It is kind of like water baptism. Water baptism does NOT save you. It is something you can do to SHOW others a public profession of your BELIEF in the gospel. In other words, you are ALREADY saved. Likewise, one can call upon or confess with their mouth AFTER they have BELIEVED the gospel. Think about it. Salvation occurs in a single moment in our lifetime. In less than one second in time; the precise moment an unbeliever goes from unbelief to belief in the gospel for their salvation. What we do after that does NOT save. We are ALREADY saved; all through faith and belief that occurred in that one moment!

Amen, Shelly said, " The woman at the well received salvation ( water of life) because she asked Jesus for it." She left Jesus at the well and went in to town saying, Come see a man..... Is not this the Christ?. Many believed on Christ because of her testimony. However, they didn't call on Him and ask Him for it because He was back at the well and they were somewhere else 🤔

The words ‘call upon’ is from one word that is also translated to ‘surname’ in other passages. So it is not necessarily calling verbally. It can also be translated as title so therefore whoever titles Jesus as Lord shall be saved. Otherwise what does it even mean to call? It’s not even explained clearly enough for it to be such a crucial part of salvation.
This is the definition according to Strong’s:
    epikaleomai
    ep-ee-kal-eh'-om-ahee
Middle voice from G1909 and G2564; to entitle; by implication to invoke (for aid, worship, testimony, decision, etc.): - appeal (unto), call (on, upon), surname.
