The Driver seat instruction was really good. It is in how you set your trailer before you start the backing. I run a Route for a local Bakery to Retailers also. I run 4 days Tues.-Fri. Most days I have 15-17 stops. Your 20 minute turn time is on par with my work. I also Merch. There is a Relationship built with the receivers and store staff. I did like the driver perspective and narrative. Good of Pepsi as a Company to allow us to see the day in the life.

Day usually starts at 8:30am and ends 4:30 to 5:30pm, drops in the morning and pickups after.
Like you, I like sometimes getting the challenging docks and sometimes a residential or two.

I just found your channel Cody. Interesting, I worked for Pepsi in 1963,64 and 65 in Winnipeg Manitobs Canada. Things were quite a bit different back then. It was all glass bottles with wooden shells, we called them. The plastic cases nowadays. We had 10 oz, 16oz and quarts which were called family size. And there were no pre-sales back then. It was all driver sales to big and little stores. I'm wondering if you guys and gals have heard this one from back then. < Coca Cola came to town, Pepsi Cola shot him down, Dr. Pepper fixed him up. Now they all drink 7-up >. It was cute back in the 60's. I was 17 when I started with them, as a swamper ( helper ) . Had to be 18 to have a chauffer's license up here. Oh yes, you had to sort out your empties from all the other soft drink company's. Lots of cut fingers in Safeway stores, as they threw all the bottles together in one bin. Anyways, thanks for the vid to get me reminiscing.

Do truck drivers at Pepsi in California make enough to afford a home in a decent area over there and raise a family? I’m from Detroit and have a year of experience at Pepsi but I just got my CDL and I’ve been California dreaming wondering if I can make a living out there with two kids. I did not damage it. The slide that holds the cover on the back of phone came off which was common for all the lincs of that model. In addition to those hack jobs you had to worry about the snake merchandisers trying to tattle tale on you to get a feather in their cap for a supervisor job. I too drove the bulk truck. Trained for Mclane food service ,they deliver to longhorn, chadders, captain David,Oliver garden ,,couldn’t keep up w the pace ,u had 5 to 6 stops u had 1 to 2 hours to unload at each stop ,all u do is bring the pallets down like so and scan each box ,captains ds was the only store u had to break down the pallet and cart it in to the store ,u had 1,000 to 1300 boxes ,your payed for every box on truck @.24 cents topping at .32 cent mileage pay and stop pay I would say good money there but working overnight and at the pace u need to be to get done everyday by 2-3pm start all over at midnight ,one or two just depending on what time your first stop is of course if u get put on one certain route u will get to know what time u need to leave to be at each stop ,but yeah local work like food service is not for me ,I’ve only ran otr and dedicated no touch freight drops and live unloads and local food delivery was a different animal working on as the company imployees did Make mention it was true for me

I ran a massive Coca-Cola warehouse. A full load of cans was about 46k pounds. TOTAL weight was ... marginal, but there was too much weight on the front axle. MANY times we would have a driver come back to our facility screaming about his $1200 fine from the weight station. Oops. We never did learn to do a 2-1-2 up front, but always went two across front to back.

Also is it paid straight by the hour or is there some production? Like Publix pays by the hour and load kinda, they’ll give you a run that says 4 hours if you do it in 4 or less you get paid 4 hours if you take 5-6 hours you only get paid 4 hours
