    I’ve just replaced my model 3 (SR+) with an Ioniq 6 and I’m delighted with the difference the build quality is night and day better and the smoothness of the ride is amazing. The key fob is a little cheap but just keep it in your pocket!

    I've had the Ioniq 6 for a month. Really enjoying the car. The two changes I would love to see are (1) a better feeling key fob and (2) extra cup holders on the doors. You basically have two in the front and two in the back, but if you have three people in the back there are no functioning cup holders. Again, overall I'm thrilled with the car.

    • @Worththewatt

      I get the key fob - there's also something about the buttons in both this and the Ionic 5 - they look a bit 80's radio-ish cheap buttons compared to premium buttons. But the do feel pretty good when using.

    I enjoyed your review thanks and just to note reviews don’t seem to notice how intrusive these “bongs” actually are in these new EV’s. I bought one of these cars six months ago and the bongs never stop…it constantly bongs if you put on/off the cruise control, open the door while charging, one km over the speed limit, move into a different speed limit zone, also you have to keep moving the steering wheel or it constantly warns you to put your hands back on the steering wheel by “bonging”. On most trips it warns you to “take a break” if the car wheels go near the roads studs! There appears to be an oppression with bongs!

    I love the Ioniq 6, I got the 5 for my first EV simply because I needed the bigger trunk/boot for my sons wheelchair (no regrets though as I love the 80s styling of the car) but can't go wrong with either, I wouldn't ever consider a Tesla over either of these.
    Being able to change the regen on the fly with the paddles is just fantastic, I wondered if it would be a gimmick, but I do it constantly. also having a HUD is a game changer for me. (as is having an indicator stalk, bad form Tesla)

    Drove this EV for 1,000 miles. It was better than I thought. I think Ioniq 5,6 are better than Tesla: Better made and more comfortable. Whenever reviewers compare IONIQS with Tesla, they tend to talk about the size of the frunk. Who really uses Trunk or Frunk. It is the power and longevity that is going to make or break the brand. R and D will also propel the brand forward.

    One thing I don't understand is "why have wireless charging when you have to plug the phone in anyway to use CarPlay or Android Auto?" I "think" I saw a Korean video the other day that showed CarPlay being used "without" being plugged in (i.e. wireless). That version also had a heads up display (which they have in Canada, as well). I understand that the "video" side mirrors are not approved in the US, but heads-up and wireless CarPlay have no such rules.

    • @Worththewatt
      @Worththewatt  7 месяцев назад

      I agree with you it makes no sense but from my understanding and experience the reason why most companies are still only offering WIRED carplay/android auto is because when its wireless it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't whereas wired its much more consistent.

      @@Worththewatt I have no complaints about my Mach-E. It has been fun, dependable, and economical. 95%+ of charging happens at home while I'm asleep. I have solar panels that produce about 4 times as much as my car uses (averaging 1,150 miles/mo over 8 years of EV driving). So once the fixed cost of the panels is absorbed, the car really runs for nothing !! Passing gas stations is great...I've completely lost track of gas prices (except when I do my monthly spreadsheet).
