I Purchased an ioniq 6 SEL last month here in the USA and I love it so far. Amazing range and fast charge times. The features that come with the car are so vast I have not even scratched the surface. In the USA the ioniq 6 comes with 2 - 3 years of free charging at the fast chargers. Great deal.
Would by over a Tesla any day.

I love the car. A good combination of nice design, interior space, efficiency, and built quality.
2:15 The length of the car is nearly 5 m, the distance between the wheels is already 2.95 m.
The dots in the steering wheel are illuminated in higher trims.

Yeah if someone is going to remark on an extraordinary size, then you should probably have a basic feel for the sizes of the units. Almost certainly, whoever wrote the script was trying to make a remark "it seems long", and then from the spec sheet picked up the wheelbase measurement instead of the outside length, without having any intuition on how big 3 meters is (or isn't).

Apologies, I should have thought about the fact that 3metres didn’t seem long enough. Numbers aren’t my forte, either way I think the display of space in the video gave people a idea of it’s size 😊

Changing the wheelsize loses 40 miles? Who on earth wants big wheels that much? I'm all for efficiency and couldn't care less what size the wheels are. I've currently got 15" wheels on my medium-sized (and quite old) van. I don't understand the modern trend for massive wheels, especially if they reduce efficiency (and give you less margin for driving over rocks/potholes without damaging wheels/tyres). A 380 mile car would be very attractive, even without a hatchback boot.

Great video Tish, keep up the good work.
I actually sat in one today at my local dealer. It was a First Edition and it looked so much better in the metal than in photos.
Interior quality looked great to me with some very interesting surfaces and rear space was fine (I’m 6’ 1”). The steering wheel felt great too.
I agree the boot was a little small but not a deal breaker for me. Going for a test drive this weekend.

Excellent descriptions and I enjoyed your review thanks and just to note reviews don’t seem to notice how intrusive these “bongs” actually are in these new EV’s. I bought one of these cars six months ago and the bongs never stop…it constantly bongs if you put on/off the cruise control, open the door while charging, one km over the speed limit, move into a different speed limit zone, also you have to keep moving the steering wheel or it constantly warns you to put your hands back on the steering wheel by “bonging”. On most trips it warns you to “take a break” if the car wheels go near the roads studs! There appears to be an oppression with bongs!

I must say I don’t like the interior of your review car with its cheap plastics and I definitely don’t like it not having wireless car play. My Lexus which is cheaper than the Ioniq 6 comes with leather seats and leather and wood effect steering wheel. But I love the shape of it and I particularly love the styling at the back. Not over keen about its front. Personally I think it might date. I also think the interior styling of the Ioniq 5 is much better than the 6. Tish another great review

I was looking for better efficiency than the Model 3. So far the testing data isn't showing it is winning the efficiency race. Not sure how the EPA gave it a better efficiency than the Model 3. Hopefully the summer testing data is better. Software rough edges appear to abound. In video and pictures the car looks good to me. Efficiency is king in my book so I am cross shopping this car and the Model 3.

Humm... Any price tag above a Tesla sets my internal alarms on instantly.
To choose a NonTesla car the price tag would need to be lower for sure.
I agree that other car brands have a more flashy design than the model 3 for example.
The Highland model is coming... very soon... most like this year still.
So that will put a lot of pressure on brands like Hyundai.
That for now seem to have a design advantage.
The boot is fine for a saloon for the ionic 6.
I am efficiency driver person. Big wheels just steal range from the battery.
I don't see the need for a car of this segment to have wheels bigger than 18 inch.
Good point about leather and cheap plastic. A £50K is the entry level of a luxury car.
Either the price tag comes down to £45K... £43K... Or the quality need to go up!!
What about a security code for the keyless car protection?
I had to install a ghost immobilizer on my 2015 PHEV (close to £500) to be able to sleep at night.
Not wondering if the car is stil there in the morning.
You need a press of combination of buttons to allow you to start the engine.
Cars with infotainment systems tend to have a passcode that can be enable to allow the car to be driven.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a personal and very specific note, I wouldn't buy a more than £45K unless the car is autonomous ready!!
And only brand offers that right now. Even with the current HW3 (Hardware 3), Tesla FSD program is proving to be really good!!
HW4 is coming soon... but it looks like HW3 will have the power to do the job.
I have a Wonderful 6 year old boy.
I tend to say the car is his car because we use it to support his live mostly.
I have in mind buying him a used Tesla model 3 from 2019/2020.
So that when he is 11 years old, he can do his own school run with FSD.
And be fully autonomous transportation wise!!
No need for driving license any more. So why not own his first car at 11 years old?!.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having said that, it's a No for me!!
To expensive for a NonTesla car!!
Great EV for sure! Much better than my 2015 PHEV.
But the price tag is not right.

Had my Ultimate version (fully spec'd) in the UK since August going from a Tesla Model S. I want to say it's amazing but sadly I can't - it just has too many flaws to say that. For example, no 'walk away lock' - what? Seriously, it can recognize you approach but not that you've left? What's the big deal I hear you ask? Well, unlike the model S, which retracts its door handles after a short while even if unlocked, this car leaves them popped out, indicating to any would-be thief that the car is wide open.
If you ever get a hint of frost, every single safety feature stops working. Like, nothing works - and you get the endless beeping of the car telling you so. PING 'Front camera obscured, parking safety disabled' PING...'rear sensors obscured, parking safety disabled' PING 'more and more PING PING PING PING
Also, the smallest of the smallest cars here have front fog lights - none here.
And while we are talking about lights, again, a whiff of frost and your front lights are useless - so you need to go and clean the frost off them to get any light output when driving at night.
The software? Not great. My so called free over the air updates didn't happen so I stupidly thought I would be able to just plug in the downloaded software on the USB. This process in itself took WAAAY longer than it should - first you download the app that allows you to download the update, then it has to decode the software, and then, here's the kicker, you can't just plug the usb key in and leave it to do it's thing - no sir, you need to stay in the car (which is now non-functional), with the 'ignition' on, and wait for the software update to run. One hour. Just sitting there, unable to leave.
While the USA was given the option to add the digital key, the EU wasn't authorized until the new Kona. Now what I don't get - why the heck did they not offer the 'at time of purchase' option that could have been enabled once regulatory framework was approved? And then Hyundai go on about using the app to 'share your car' - for what? You can share the car with another user but they can't drive it without having the key, so what's the point? If it is just to open the car, you can do that yourself remotely and lock it remotely also.
Speaking about the app - how great it is to be able to start the heater on cold days...provided you don't mind waking the neighbors as the alarm is so sensitive, it goes off due to the heaters. I assumed it was because I had the 'enhanced alarm' settings switched on - but no, it does the same thing after I disabled it. So now, I only start the heater two minutes before I go to the car - enough to JUST start the deicing process, but not long enough to get the alarm triggered.
These are just some of the niggles I have had.
Would I buy it again? I don't think so. They guys at Hyundai just haven't thought it through, or indeed maybe driven the car long enough on a daily basis to see what the issues are with it. Their software sucks, and I wonder what functionality will remain once my free trail of their connected software is done - will I lose access to see if my alarm is going off or the ability to remote unlock/lock the car? Who knows. I may not keep the car long enough to find out though. I should have gone with the Lexus RZ.

And the weather is good (±18-20°C?)
    THEN you'll get fast charge.
    .
Any of the above missing? Possibly not so much.

It’s not being a Tesla fan boy, it’s about being realistic. If you want reliable fast charging, go Tesla. If you don’t mind not having reliable charging, buy something non-Tesla.

Do you have any other function in your life than to promote Tesla and destroy everyone else? Tesla fanboys are the biggest ev haters on the web. It's not even close. It's tiresome. Grow up.

Maybe your tax system makes it more appealing, but I'm American and don't know why anyone would buy one here since it doesn't qualify for IRA tax credits and isn't worth the premium over models that do. They made the roof and trunk too short and the battery pack cuts into the trunk making cargo space too small and rear headroom too low. Whatever fraction of a mile the excessively sloped roof extends the range, it isn't worth it. The rear should be significantly taller, so it has a usable trunk. 11.2 cu ft is pathetic. The Model 3 has more than double the cargo capacity (22.9 cu ft). The rear is also the ugliest in the entire Hyundai/Kia lineup. The melted rear looked bad on the Infiniti J30, and this is even worse. Hopefully the second generation won't look like a melted jellybean and will be built in America or be cheaper to compensate for the lack of tax credits.

most over hyped car, Bjorn Nyland proved it already with extensive testing as always, tesla model 3 is more practical & just better design, Hyundi really went backwards with the Ioniq 6. I'm not even a tesla fan boy, just saying theres way better cars out there, especially when we get the Nio et5

'useless' is incorrect. It's a car- it works fine. We've managed to drive around for about 100 years without OTA updates. Updates are nice to have, like any software upgrade, but you don't _need_ it.

It’s hideous. Really ungainly and awkward design, the front and rear look like different cars. All the angles clash. It’s the visual equivalent of the sound of fingernails dragged down a blackboard. I like unusual looking cars - Citroen DS for example, but this is just bad. Not quite Ssangyong Rodius bad but getting there.
