they never could. its way too politically incorrect. then again, they just might becuz of that! but that's what makes it so great! that and Jackie Gleeson!
They missed the best line out when junior sees a alligator and says “hey daddy look at that big ugly thing “ sherif justice replies “that reminds me I’ve got to call ya momma tonite “😂
You left out my favorite from Smokey & the Bandit 1: Junior loses his hat, tells Buford: "My hat flew off daddy" & Buford tells him: "I HOPE YOUR GOD DAMN HEAD WAS IN IT"!

Watched "Smokey & the bandit" the first time in 1991. I enjoyed it so much I watched it three times a day for the next three weeks. Sheriff Buford is outstanding, the whole cast is.
Jackie Gleason Died on my moms birthday in 1987. That was also my high school graduation year. I came today to see this reel. A line I pulled from Gleason years ago that I just said the other day was "I've got 'em boxed in like a turtles pecker" which is not in this reel, but that's OK. This man was the epitome of funny, and actually a very good actor. I miss him. All the greats are dead as far as I'm concerned.

It took me years to realize that the whole purpose of the sheriff chasing the bandit 700 miles was to reunite his son with the broad who walked out on him leaving the son to live out his days with the father who can't stand him 😆😆😆😆 .
I watch this video all the time. Lot's of great comedic characters in movies past and present. I'm 63 and Jackie Gleason's portrayal of Buford T. Justice has them all beat hand's down, even Bill Murray in Caddie Shack.
daAnder71 add to the fact that Tekarkana is a split border town on the Texas/Arkansas border, so he’s literally out of his jurisdiction the moment he begins his pursuit! The really interesting thing is Coors wasn’t nationally distributed up until 1986, so it was illegal to sell East of the Mississippi!
And if you research that movie plot, the Germans DID have alot to do with why you couldn't get Coors east of Texas!!! My aunt worked for them in the 90's as a legal rep. Some good stories... Anyone remember the Party Ball?!🥳

Jackie Gleason, should have gotten an academy award for this performance. Epic from start to finish.
He sure should have
Ha ha ha ha... lol 🤭
I agree.
Totally agree. At least nominated.
100% Agree...man made me laugh continuously in this and the 2nd movie...Hooooooome....Hoooooome.
Jackie Gleason improvised the whole thing and came up with all his lines on the spot. Legend.
Absolute legend
They left out a good line.
"I'll never leave you, Daddiy."
"Don't you ever threaten your Daddy like that."

Sadly doesn't count(?) since that came from part 2, I'm certain.
From part two
Yea they did!! That is one of the best lines in the movie!!
They left out his very best line when Bandit drives through the roadblock and Buford tells them
“You sumbitches couldn’t close an umbrella!”
You see that? He drove right thru our roadblock. 😂😂😂
"Are you alright junior?"
"Yeah."
"You would be you shit."

i agree he is. i mean one night he made me laugh so hard i farted
