@@brianhoule3219 It's true, Burt did want Jackie to play the part. When Jackie read the script though he thought it was garbage, but he was begged to do the part and agreed to do it only if he could swear throughout the whole movie. Your likes Jackie will never be seen again. Thank you for nearly killing me many times when I choked and cried with laughter,. If there is a God boy is he having a good time up there, I'm sure some of that rain is tears of laughter. Rest in Peace big man, we have your memories on screen forever for future generations to see a genius at work. John (UK).
We need more sheriffs like Buford T Justice in America nowadays.
We do
His name Sherrif Donald J Trump
We do
SHERRIF DONALD J TRUMP
Joshua Brooks Predjudce. There’s plenty out there already‼️‼️
ED V no comparison but dream on Boomer! 😂😂
You mean petty, overzealous and obnoxious asses.
There's no way you could've come from my loins...
Jackie Gleason absolutely made this movie.........he was right when he quoted that he " was the star, of the picture".
Let's not forget one of the stars of Smokey and the bandit 1 none other than the 1977 Pontiac trans am
Does anyone remember this one from Smoky and the bandit . Buford t.justice to the other sherrif .I just apprehended the bandit the other sherrif tells him you just apprehended my captain 😂
The tearing off of the door by the Asian truck driver is the best...especially Buford's rants..
That was our favourite when we were kids too. We still channel Burford T Justice - 'I'm gonna barbecue your ass in molasses!' 😂😂😂
Either Asian or native american
Bill Saito is his name I believe. Going off imdb
He said "Bonsai" before shearing off the door, which makes me think he was Asian, specifically Japanese.
@@erikbunty2016 yes! Asian LoL great scene!!
"My Hat Flew off daddy" " I Hope Your God Damn head was in it" in my option this was way better then Star Wars
Lmao!
That's not even a fair comparison
Best line of the movie!! Lmao!!😆😆
In every possible way! I watch it every year since!
Star Wars was a bore, still is!
OMG! Jackie Gleason was funny as hell. There will never be anyone like him again !
He really could make people laugh.
"I hope your goddamn head was in it! - I just about choked to death laughing!!!😂😂😂 OMG!!!
I still quote lines from this film when teaching trainees.. Love it.
"The Goddamn Germans got nothing to do with it"...Classic.
SHUT UP! ONE SHIT AT A TIMEE!!!
What does that mean
@@jake_thomas9104 Buford misheard what Sheriff Bradford said over the radio.
@@jake_thomas9104
Sheriff Justice misunderstood.
He thought Sheriff Branford was referencing the Germans when actually Branford was informing him he was out of jurisdiction and the fact he was a sheriff was not relevant, "germane" to the situation, pursuing the Bandit, in his territory..
The humor of it all is, Buford thinks he's the cat's pajamas, yelling at Branford "The Goddamn German's got nothing to do with it"! when actually he's simple minded knucklehead that doesn't understand the word germane..
For Sure,,,,Forever!!!!
“THE GOD DAMN GERMANS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!” Lmao!! Gets me every time
"If they would've cremated the sumbitch, I could've been kicking that Mr. Bandit's ass around the moon by now😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"What did he say?" "SHUTUP! ONE SHIT AT A TIME!"
One of the greatest if not the greatest performances in a comedy ever. I pray they never get a idea to re-make this movie.
Classic that will never be repeated. I remember watching on TBS regularly back in the 80's. It was an event.
One of the greatest tragi-comedic creations since Shakespeare and Sheriff Buford T Justice is right up there with Falstaff... Creator and Performer Jackie Gleeson deserved an Oscar for that one... Amazing picture quality also; shot on 70mm no doubt.
"What the hell is this world coming to?."
I think they cut out the first part of what he really said, though. "A colored sheriff." Or something like that.
Tommy uses the same line in Goodfellas, 'A Jew broad prejudiced against Italians, what is the world coming to?"
@@albundy6008 He might have been referencing the line here.
"Hey a football game, can I watch Daddy?"
@@atranfanatic You stay and watch the game, I'm going back.
My absolute favorite movie of all time. Family hates me when we watch it. Have seen it so many time I honestly know about 80% of the script.
Just went on vacation in North Ga. Made my family visit the Bandit and Frog kissing bridge and a few other filming locations😂
The scene in the diner just cracks me up - I don't know how Burt Reynolds managed to make it through that scene without losing it - had to be many takes!!
tonyt13aa, he was great in that scene, talking while eating. And I want to know what a diablo burger tastes like. LOL
That scene was not in the script, but Jackie Gleason's idea. He also ad libbed the entire movie.
Teresa Blais I believe it. Gleason was notorious for little to no rehearsals. He felt the performances would be more natural & believable. Orson Welles was the first to refer to Gleason as “The Great One.” Truer words were never spoken.
tonyt13aa Diablo sandwich and a Dr Pepper LOL 😂
That's my favorite scene Classic😂
This was pure comedic genius in it's pure form.RIP Jackie Gleason
My parents showed me this series when i was a kid and i fell in love with em
Rip guys you still make me laugh after so many years. I love watching Bandit 1 over and over again. Lol
After all these years I still quote Sheriff Buford T. Justice.
"That's nothing but pure & old fashion Communism" !!
How true. I had a recently passed friend who was a tremendous fan of this movie. Every time I watch these clips I feel he is somewhere laughing right along
Cant get enough of Sheriff Buford T... watched him all my life.
The funniest man ever to grace the screen.god bless.
The gotdamb German's got nothin' to do wit it! lol
What he say?
Robert DeVito shut up one shit at a time
I love that scene
@@lokiwiseyt8608 what the hell you know?
back in a time when the world didnt care about anything... people just lived and actually cared about their neighbors, friends, relatives...
Back in a time..!! What.. Where and when are you referring too!! Where in the blazing saddles you living? Can you see Teletubbies there? How long have you been on a section hold!! Please be crazy some place else. Now take your meds and I'm gonna pray to Jesus that you make through this hard time of complete delirium.. Amen.
