  • Blackpool Pleasure Beach rides have been experiencing some teething issues throughout the 2024 season with both Ice Blast and River Caves currently closed. The amusement park have provided no updates since opening weekend regarding the current status of these attractions therefore I thought I would make a video speculating their future. Join me as I share my thoughts on whether Ice Blast and River caves will ever reopen, along with the feasibility of removing such attractions to make way for future developments at Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort!

River caves is my favourite ride at BPB because its so calming and the kids love it. I know people want top end rollercoasters but taking away family rides is a massive own goal as families make up a big part of their income.

My understanding is they have the Nickelodeon Land area for families.

A good marketing strategy would be replace ice blast with a drop tower and make it the tallest in Europe.

I’m glad I got to ride and record the river ride for the last time during 2023. I think it shut down for maintenance only because there’s lots of work to be done on it.

BPB does have history of ripping out rides with little notice. Unfortunately it was my old favourite The Wild Mouse which fate visited in the closed 2017/2018. A great wooden roller coaster with all those sharp, terrifying turns. Shame but time doesn't stand still for man or fairground rides.

Loved that ride as a teen in the 80's. The original whiplash giver :)

Ice blasts problem will cost over £50,000 as i know flamingo land and fantasy island had to do this too and they decided to do it where I have inside sources that pleasure beach did not want to spend the money

Or the very least the non-rider pass a priced no more than £5 and the individual ride ticket option again.

The park wouldn’t become defunct someone else would end up buying it, but what worries me is who would buy it and would they try to keep the classics/historical rides going?
