Angel’s appearance changes based on the story. Sometimes he is stuck in one of his forms and other times he’s can change at will so it is thematically accurate.

Note that "Containment Strategy" says "After A hero..." & "...that Hero...", meaning in multiplayer EACH HERO will be removing threat from that side-scheme just by doing something they will probably want to do anyway AND it is only limited to 1 per side scheme so if you have multiple side schemes and can get multiple copies out, all the heroes are removing threat from 2 or more side schemes just by defending. I think that's bonkers! Great video, always enjoy hearing your thoughts on the new stuff. 👍

I love how they are drawing inspiration from Remender's Uncanny X-force run this wave. It has some of my favorite portrayals of Angel, Psylocke and Deadpool from the comics.

Really looking forward to those first hero packs.
My first deck seed/idea is a Leadership Angel focused on voltroning the self-healing Psylocke and triggering the team-ups.

I also think the Taunt card will be really good for Colossus Protection with all of his tough statuses.

It seems that in the very extended Marvel / X-Men Comics, at some point Angel is able to turn back an forth with his Archangel persona, but not for long. So I guess it's not really out of theme... the catch is that the Angel that most people know / remember, was the one from the 90s series, who made a deal with the devil, which he could not undo.

Yeah, a "technically valid" idea, but that switching is not what he's known for.

FYI it’s pronounced arc-Angel (Or ark, Aark) not arch.

It seems to be a trend that Aerial attack and thwart events are a little overcosted. I think this is because they want to encourage us to run team building exercise to make these cards great value. Hero cards often have trait sharing or superpower for TBE/deft focus discounts but most aspect attack/thwart events are traitless and can only use sense of justice/martial prowess discounts. Team building exercise just gets better and better for Aerial.

Can't play the Team-up if you're Archangel anyway, you have to be Angel.

I’m cautiously pleased with what we’ve seen of Angel so far. Not a fan of the fold-out. It’s one of my criticisms of Antman and Wasp as well. All aerial all the time and card effects based on your hero state will be combo playgrounds in both solo and multi.
All the hanky-poo with hero states and aerial is clearly going to have synergy with a whole mess of core cards. I will not be surprised to see some rules revisions because Angel breaks the game in places.
Something to look forward to in September.
