    Great guide, I concur 100% with your choices.
    One caveat you could add though:
    - When you (eventually) buy your Galaxy Most Wanted box, open it, search for the copies of "Fanaticism" in the Ronan scenario. Then burn these cards.
    - When you (sooner than later) buy your Sinister Motives box, open it, search for the copy of "Advanced Glider" in the Goblin Gear modular set. Then burn this card.
    Your sanity may be at stake. ;-)
    Seriously though, Sinister Motives is close to perfect as a campaign box if it weren't for the Advanced Glider.

      I will 100% add these two comments when I reassess with new villains, and I will be quoting you verbatim because truer words have never been spoken. “Advanced Glider” was easily made when one of the creators was having a bad day.
      I agree. I think Sinister Motives is the best box they’ve released. Two FANTASTIC heroes, and very balanced villains ranging from easy to “venom goblin” lol

      @@marvelchampionsxp lol glad to be of service. And I know my wallet will thank me later lol. There is so much to this game.
      Looking forward to it. I play both true solo and two handed. Going to play some true solo with standard rhino and Klaw and with aspects and see for my play style which one or 2 work best for each hero. It's going to be a fun time

    • @marvelchampionsxp
      @marvelchampionsxp  2 года назад

      @@anthonypoguestockton9170 That sounds great! I just made two decks to play today as well.
      Easy tip for starting, two handed makes things MUCH more versatile. One hero can focus on thwarting and the other attacking. True solo is technically a bit harder because you need to do everything.
      It all depends on the hero, but Justice and Leadership tend to be the best options for true solo. Protection is also really good depending on the hero. I’ve personally always found aggression very difficult for true solo because of the limited thwart.

    • @anthonypoguestockton9170
      @anthonypoguestockton9170 2 года назад +1

      @@marvelchampionsxp Cool. What did you create today?
      It does. I prefer two-handed, to be honest. I usually use true solos as an individual look at each hero for each aspect. When I deck build, I study the hero, see what they naturally do, and try to use each aspect to cover weaknesses if possible. Right now, with my limited aspect and basic cards, I am testing each hero so that when I play with others I can help guide them in their deck construction, and allows me to see heroes I would rarely run.
      You are not wrong. Aggression is rough depending on the villain. I only have core set villains, so I deck build test against standard rhino since I have learned how to beat him on expert consistently unless rng just screws me.
      I love how this game is both consistent and unpredictable and it reminds me a lot of like duels with yugioh or magic cards, so I am truly in my element with this game.

      The majority of people love two handed, it’s easily the best way to play I think. And you’re exactly right, you can cover the other heroes weakness by playin two handed. Like Valkyrie? Man, she’s weak true solo, but my friend went nuts with her when we played together.

    Hey, great video, I liked the way you reasoned through your choices.
    One thing I'll add though, if I could go back in time and give beginner me some advice, it would be to buy Red Skull (or really any campaign box) as the first purchase after core set. I play true solo too, and I found having only three villains a bit repetitive, no matter how I switched up my heroes. With the campaign boxes having such a higher density of villains, getting just one immediately boost the number of options you have to mix things up. I found that the ten villains from core set, Red Skull and Green Goblin lasted me a really, really long time.

    • @marvelchampionsxp
      @marvelchampionsxp  Год назад +2

      Thanks, much appreciated!
      Yeah I think that’s great advice. I definitely think Red Skull is the perfect first purchase. Like you said, more villains really gives the game so much more life. And the villains in Red Skull are still pretty “basic” in terms of the mechanics. I totally agree with you 👍

      Hey bud! Fantastic question! I’m waiting for the new heroes to make an updated buyers guide and rankings, but I looked at my list again and I honestly think it’s a solid A tier for me. I think Cable and Domino are at minimum A tier, possibly S tier heroes. So, you’re getting two FANTASTIC heroes, that have different levels of difficulty. I think Cable isn’t anything fancy, but he does a lot EXTREMELY well and can handle almost any situation. Domino is a high skill play hero, but once you get her, she truly on another level. The villains never really get to unfair Ronan levels of difficulty, and are really fun and can be challenging. Personally, it MIGHT be my favorite campaign box ever. Sinister Motives is neck and neck with it for me as the two best released campaigns.

      Oh, that’s something I should have mentioned, I play strictly true solo, so it’s geared towards true solo 👍. Kang, even though he really shines in multiplayer/two handed, is still an Epic fight in true solo. I’ve played him true solo, and with my play group, and while the mechanic was really fun with the group, it is still a fantastic true solo experience. Welcome to the game! It’s a fantastic game! I will 100% be updating this, I’m just waiting for the hero packs to fully come out, just in case they are REALLY good.
      Someone asked me the same question. I LOVE Next Evolution. Cable is a very good all around hero, and seems great for new players. Domino is INSANELY powerful with a learning curve, so when you’re ready for her she’s there. The villains are top notch I think. They are fun, different, and have a good amount of a difficultly curve.
      I would EASILY put this side by side with Sinister Motives, and probably say they are equally as good, and if you’re leading decision should be if you’re more a fan of Spidey content or X-men.

    Love your content! Good production and you have an excellent voice for this work. As usual I'm the classic late adapter. 😂 just got the game a month ago. This was the first card based game I have ever played. My computer gaming experience is mostly sim types like simracing, Cities Skylines and Trainz. I discovered your playthroughs and found them very helpful. You move at a good pace for me.
    Really looking forward to the deck building. I hope you spend some time on how to think about the process. The other vids I've watched assumed you had memorized every card in the collection. I lay out a hero, what am I looking at? How do I analyze what is in front of me? How to determine what are the weaknesses and strengths?
    Part of the issue for me is it seems some cards have been “depricated”. Newer cards that do the same thing, but more efficiently. This means for a content creator you start with the core box, but know this deck isn't the most up-to-date. Maybe just note that in the advanced vids you will circle back to reexamine. Or have a vid “Six New Protection Cards You Need In Your Deck NOW!” with one of those shock faces on the thumbnail.😂
    Anyway, I've bloviated enough. Great content!

    • @marvelchampionsxp
      @marvelchampionsxp  2 года назад

      Thanks! Very much appreciated! This was the first physical card game I’ve played too. I love deck builders, but mainly either PC or Switch.
      So, you actually highlighted why I’m trying to decide on exactly “how” to make a deck building video. I know everyone does have all the content, so I’m trying to decide how best to explain “what you’re looking for”. I think like you said, before even looking at aspects, you need to look at the hero first and understand what their strengths and weakness are.
      I’m hoping to not have a crazy busy week at work, so I can put some more thought into it. Thanks again for all the kind words!

      Love the comment, Strange. You bring up amazing points. Have yet to find a creator to do that. Flesh out each hero and help people understand each hero without putting in the hours for each character if people aren't that dedicated or don't have the time.

    • @Strangekabuki
      @Strangekabuki 2 года назад +1

      @@marvelchampionsxp As for Card games. Have you ever looked at Warfighter? Sort of an in-between card-type game. Another solo game. You buy your team and have it always in front of you, but what the hostiles throw at you is variable. A very large number of expansions. A large number of playthroughs on line.
      I come out of the software design world, and the issue with deck-building guides is there are so many dimensions and valid approaches to the topic.
      In my very limited time, I have already discovered that a deck designed to beat a villain may not be the most "fun" deck to play. Then there is the "Style" thing. I could easily see myself as a person who says picks a hero/aspect and always plays that combo. With each hero having their own combo. Spiderman/Protection, Ironman/Justice. Then keep tuning that combo deck over time. Or you could set a personal rule that no deck can have any cards that came out after the Hero's release! But you can shift aspects. This is what makes a great game. It allows a player to create their own universe with its own rules.
      Anyway Old man talking too much again. Peter Parker is staring at me on my game table, and Klaw awaits. I'm playing with mixing up the encounters now to see if I like that.

    • @marvelchampionsxp
      @marvelchampionsxp  2 года назад +1

      @@Strangekabuki oh no I’ve never heard of that game, but it sounds really cool. I’m looking at it right now. Thanks for letting me know about that!
      Oh, I’m very similar when it comes to Champions. I could easy find the most “meta” deck, but the fun for me comes with being thematic. There are times when I want a challenge and make a “strong deck” to test hard villains, but the majority of the time I only put certain Allies together, or fighting specific villains, or aspects. It’s my favorite part.

    • @marvelchampionsxp

      Honestly, if you like them go for it. The majority of my enjoyment of the game comes from playing heroes I like.
      As for compatibility, Wolverines precon kit is actually pretty solid, so he’ll slot in very easily. Since I don’t know all of Gambit’s precon it’s a bit more hard to say, but from what’s been shown, he looks amazing. I’m really excited for him.
      Out of the new X-men, I’d say definitely pick up Wolverine. Storm is CRAZY powerful too. I’d skip cyclops and Jean for the time being, there are better heroes you can grab before them.

    Hello, so right now I can't decide between Sentinels of the Multiverse and MC. I don't know much about super heroes and wasn't interested in them in the first place, I guess the only few characters I know are Batman, super man, Spiderman, these are the only 3 super heroes I grew up with lol however I'm a HUGE fan of Spiderman as a character even though I don't know the full story behind him but when it come to games I love card games I can play solo, I have Arkham Horror LCG, Lord of the Rings LCG, Pathfinder adventure card game, Rune Age, Heroes of Terrinoth, you can see where I'm going with this lol.
    Right now the only thing I don't like about Sentinels of the Multiverse is having to control 3 characters solo, but I love that there is no deck building in that game, that will help me when I want to take a break from deck builders however MC have the one and only super hero that I do actually love and that is Spiderman and I can only use one deck to play that game. So my question, for MC if I get the core set I know Spiderman is in the coreset, but will I be able to play through the game with that character? And my understanding is newer content are somewhat harder? So will I be able to play through harder content using spiderman? My plan if I went with MC is to slowly buy expansions that add stories or scenarios as long as I can go through them with Spiderman and I don't mind to buy character decks or expansions just incase I can use some of the cards in them to upgrade my Spiderman deck also I don't like things like that spiderpig character so it have to be the original spiderman character. So what are your thoughts here?

However, since you've played other Fantasy Flight games like Arkham, you will already be familiar with how buying content for Champions will be.
      As for only using Spider-Man, I 100% think that you can go through all of the content with him. There are some things you will need to remember. So, I don't love the deck he comes with, so you WILL need to play around with the deck you give him for later villains.
      You will 100% to be able to slowly add villains and new heroes at your own pace, that's what I love about the game. You can stick with the Core set for a very long time, and when you are ready, you can add whomever you want. If you want to only use Spidey, go for it! Play how you want to have fun! I think this guide video will be very helpful, especially when you add new expansions.
      Thanks for the amazing question, and I hope I was able to help. If you have any more questions, or need me to explain more, please let me know!

    Imo i will just everything in the order they came out, to relive the experience as the og's have. Except Wrecking crew. I find the wrecking crew not even interesting

      I love that! I have a friend who’s doing the same exact thing. There are a group of people who like wrecking crew, but i think I fall into the vast majority of, “they are there to fill out my collection” haha

    I'm a dissenter and so I have to tell all you Wrecking Crew haters that you're dead wrong. And anyone who hasn't played it needs to. It's actually an extremely fun scenario.
    What's actually at the bottom of the list, worse than anything else is Galaxy's Most Wanted. It's nothing but pain and suffering for the players throughout.
    I've always had fun with Wrecking Crew and it was always designed to be a self contained experience scenario.
    It's a joy to play the scenario because I can breathe a sigh of relief and enjoyment knowing I won't ever have to see my obligation or nemesis during the course of the game.
    And I know a lot of players who feel the same.

      I come in peace! No hate! My friend really likes Wrecking Crew a lot too, so I get it. It all comes down to preference, and I'm legit happy you like it.
      The only reason I had Galaxies Most Wanted right above it is because you at least get two heroes, and the Badoon Fight isn't that bad for new players. Agreed, the rest is just not fun.
      I always say it, I will never tell anyone they are wrong, or playing the game incorrectly, and The Wrecking Crew "Crew" needs love haha. For me, I find putting it up and taking it down too much especially after learning "the gimmick".
      I really appreciate all your comments!

      You can tell a great game from a so so game when it brings out views like yours. In a great game, Everyone can find something that “sings” to them. I'll bet there is a number contrarian players who's mission it is to build successful decks for “marginal” heroes like Hulk. Sometimes a theme really strikes a cord in us. Go forth Horatio! And stand on the bridge!🤘

    how many core sets you buy for 4 palyers ?

    • @marvelchampionsxp
      @marvelchampionsxp  Год назад

      Great question! You only need 1 core set if you want to play 4 players. The core set comes with 5 heroes, Spiderman, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, IronMan, and She Hulk. So, you’ve got 4 heroes to choose from out of the pool of 5.
      You can get a lot of time and value out of just the core set.

      @@FaytTheXpert I thumbed through my rules book just to be sure, but yes, there are enough resources for a 4 player game. There’s a PreCon deck for each aspect and they each come with 3 resource cards.
