Thanks for your, perhaps(?), annual list. I like how you recommended people to buy what appeals to them as part of your list. To anyone reading my comment, I would recommend Kang for two reasons: in solo, he is epic without being too difficult (unlike Magnito who is epic and difficult), and he has a t-rex in one of his optional encounter sets! Maybe I just like him in solo more than most, though?
Thanks! Yeah I realized it should just be an annual thing haha. There’s no reason for not liking Kang. The thing I recommend the most is always seeing what others have to say. I might be in the monitory of liking him less in true solo. When i played him multiplayer I was amazing with how awesome it was. I pinned your comment cause I want to highlight what appeals to each player. It’s hard for me to not be bias towards anything Spider-Man related haha
@@marvelchampionsxp of course! I always appreciate these differing opinions and you do a great job of recognizing and encouraging that in this community.
There're few people making videos for marvel champion in China and they've all dropped updating so that I'm very glad to enjoy your helpful guide and bulid my own collection!
As someone who wants to progress through the content at a good pace (and not blow all my money on everything on Black Friday) this was very valuable! I will say I find the idea of deck-building intimidating, especially with organizing so many physical cards.
Thanks very much! I often forget people aren’t insane like me NEED to always get everything haha. Especially with how much content is currently in the game, progressing the way you want is probably the best way to enjoy the game. I have two other videos you might want to check out specifically on deck building and organization! Hope they help
@@SuperMufasa92 Thanks! Much appreciated! If there’s anything you’d like to see let me know! I’m going to try to get some campaign box reviews done next weekend
@@SuperMufasa92 Yeah I hear you. A couple of things. She Hulk in the core set is really low tier, it’s not you. she gets much better with more packs. The other thing is, I personally think Klaw is very difficult, but it’s the Masters of Evil modular that makes him as hard as he is. Try She Hulk vs Klaw and remove Masters of Evil for something like Bomb Scare
I bought the core set and after only 2 games (2 player games with an inexperienced teamate) I felt like I needed more deckbuilding options so I ordered The Rise of Redskull due to its simplicity compared to other expansions. I've played card games in the past, all of them were digital versions, but I still have some experience when it comes to deckbuilding. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, but I felt that the core set just wasn't enough. TRoR introduced enough but I didn't feel overwhelmed. I'll probably grab 2-3 hero packs next month to slow down a bit and save some money.
That’s awesome! I think you made a great purchase. The game has gotten so big, even though Rise of the Red Skull is probably the most simple expansion, it’s definitely a fantastic first pickup for that reason. And picking up hero packs after that is also a great move. You’ve got enough villains to keep you busy for a while and the heroes will easily mix things up and give you more deck building options
Thanks for your thoughts, it does help new players out. I have almost everything but I always like to hear what recommendations ppl have and it makes me think. The main problem for me after getting the core set was that It only has 3 villains and I got bored of them fast. My recommendation for anyone that has that same issue. Jump to the red skull campaign and get your favorite hero. That will give you a lot of content for some time. After that. You can follow my man's recommendations on this video as it is a great buying guide.
Thanks! I totally agree about getting bored with the core set quickly. I think i picked up rise of the red skull maybe a week or two later. I think your recommendation is spot on! Rise is such a great first pick up!
Thanks for the video! I just bought myself the core set for playing true solo and this is the best resource I’ve seen. For my first hero pack I think I will pick up either Gamora or Nebula.
Thanks so much, it’s really appreciated! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and it was helpful! Since you’re mentioning specific heroes, I’ll say I LOVE Gamora. I think she is a FANTASTIC true solo hero, she does everything really well. Nebula is also a really effective hero, but know I think she has a high skill ceiling. With her you’re really thinking multiple turns ahead. So, if you’re still learning, just know she might not click right away, but when she does I think you’ll see she’s pretty powerful.
All of these videos I see are super old on RUclips, so thank you for an updated list! Right now my family has Core, Mad Titan's, and Galaxy's Most Wanted. We are going through the Campaigns first.
Thanks! I figured I owed everyone an updated list with all the new content, especially during the holiday season. That’s a great way to go about it too. The campaigns give you so much value. What’s your favorite campaign so far?
Great video as always, I watched the one for 2022 to start my venture in MC, so I'm greatful for your help. I'll add one detail to your guide though, since not all expansions are available on the market (some are sold out, usually the most wanted packs), I'd suggest if someone is planing to slowly collect into the game, whenever you find Thor, Dr. Strange, and Captain Anerica, go ahead and buy them. Often the cards inside champions expansions are kind of weak and it requires cards from other expansions to make them really great. These 3 are almost self-sustained and also very solid and fun champions from this game stand point.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! I’m glad I was able to help you with the last video, I know this game can be overwhelming. You actually brought up a point I hadn’t considered. Since I have everything I actually don’t realize what is normally in stock. I’m not the biggest fan of Thor, and I don’t remember what comes in his kit, but totally agree about Cap and Dr Strange. Those are fantastic pickups!
Kind of curious Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, and a few other heroes are not included your buyer guide. Do you not recommend them or not have a chance to buy them?
Oh no I have all the content. When making this video I had to think about how I wanted to present heroes, and the ones I specially mentioned I think are the best in the game and should be in every collection. I omitted a lot because I didn’t want to overwhelm new players because that can make getting into the game more difficult. I tried to be as new player friendly as possible
I wish there would be an official online simulator to this... After purchaseing the first set of products, its hard to even organise and deckbuild. Its insane how many cards there are in this game even in the first set
Yeah I totally agree. You need to find an organization system that works for you so it’s easier to deck build. That will definitely help. There’s something on steam called “tabletop simulator” and I know it has a marvel champions add on. I’ve never used it but I know it’s out there.
If you haven’t I would watch Nelson all over cards video for organizing the game. I use something similar and while it is a lot to manage it isn’t too bad imo.
@@marvelchampionsxp I did lose to Magog, yes. Pretty badly. With Cyclops I just barely won. I've played against Spiral before and beat her (can't remember who with). This was my first time attempting to do a "campaign" run though. Tonight I'll see if I can beat Spiral with Cyclops, continuing on from last time.
Galaxy’s most wanted broke me. An expansion that’s 3 years old caused me to put the game down for years. I might come back bc of the X-men but I’m still hesitant. I bought everything up until the thanos box and never opened it. I thought about buying mutant genesis or Deadpool bc they looked fun. Iceman looks really fun and different and I’m excited for night crawler.
Dude. I get it. I totally get it. I was playing Champions daily until that came out. I'll never forget Ronan beat me in 2 turns then in the 1st turn and I stopped playing for over a month haha. Don't let it get to you. Honestly, just box it up and move on lol I think Deadpool is a FANTASTIC pickup even just for the 'pool aspect
Sorry, I've had so much going on in the past two weeks... I think when I made this I was thinking I'd rather value new villains over new modulars, but it's still a really good pack.
No, there are Def not trash. There IS a power creep in the game, so some older heroes like Quicksilver and Thor can really get outpaced with some of the newer heroes. That doesn’t mean they are bad by any means. You can have fun with just about any of the heroes. This video is mainly to be used as some sort of guidance because the game is REALLY big now
I didn’t want to name EVERY hero haha. This is just a way to navigate all the content, because it’s a lot. They are really good heroes, but not S tier, so they can be picked up almost whenever
I dunno, 99% is a big assumption. There were a couple different polls on Reddit and board game geek and the numbers were usually about 60-70% in favor of true solo. I also don’t really agree that it’s the opposite of a single player game because all of the content can be complete true solo, not even two handed.
