I very much hope they create a proper solo variant for this game! Not solo like Lorcana where it feels bolted on or like Power Rangers DBG where it just doesnt work very well. FFG make amaxing solo stuff so hopefully they can make some dedicated solo stuff!

i was initially hoping magneto would have some cool counter interactions, like a spider-ham 2.0 now i just want him to have some confuses in his kit so we can make use of the alter-ego abilities/supports without being stuck in justice

My confidence with this game has sky rocketed; I sure hope so since I've been playing almost every night for the passed few weeks. I remember back in the day, I was too afraid to go up against Goblin/Mutagen Formula and Ultron. But now? Those two villains have been shuffled up more times than the other villains in my collection. Yes they're hard; but like you said, they're also fair in how they play. The only difficulty I deal with is which hero to play lol

This was fun! I agree with the comment about the two card draw and the comparison to Lorcana. This game feels so much smoother and less prone to those frustrating games you can have when you can’t find your card draw or when you somehow manage to draw every uninkable in your deck in your opening hand 🤪. There is so much depth to this game that you’ll discover the more you play it. And it is very thematic. One of my favourite moments was being up against the Han leader. My opponent had Han out with some damage on him. I had Greedo on the board with “Shoot First” in my hand. I played Shoot First on Greedo and he takes Han out without being hit back in return. Greedo really did shoot first… but in this world he doesn’t miss 😆. And just wait until you get on set 2 with the bounties and capture mechanics. FFG have absolutely nailed it, in my opinion.

Hulk was good…. And yet never really played any cards lol. Great watch! Btw the last move, you took retaliate but Taskmaster II was eliminated, so you wouldn’t take the retaliate right? Just curious if I have the situation where I have one HP and kill the villain with retaliate

I think it was fine before. He is the same character even if you defeat a stage, and the retaliate is checked after the attack. Should trigger. Following the same logic, he should not continue the attack in the next stage when you defeat him at the beginning of the attack with a powerful punch for example. It has no sense.

That was so funny. I think you missed a few of the GGs forced responses, not that it mattered. Maybe bump it down to normal expert, that way at least you can get some stuns and confuses in there. However, it would all come down to what happens on turn one.

I always prefer playing two handed solo over true solo.

I'm really surprised that you didn't keep banner's lab at the beginning to help you build up your board. You also would have recovered more throughout the game since you switched to alter-ego and healed up multiple times.

I had heard so many complaints about Hulk that I didn't buy him until recently because I found him on sale. After playing with him a few times I concluded he wasn't as bad as everyone made it sound like. But he was also much better in multiplayer than solo. I like the deck you played with. Makes me want to explore some more Hulk solo options. Thanks for playing.

That 1st turn was horrendous. Board looked like you guys were 20-25 minutes into the game but in reality it was like 4 or 5. Haha GG with The Gauntlet looks too strong to beat.

I really don't care what the ruling is, if character that I attack doesn't have retaliate I don't take retaliate 😁

What is especially interesting to me about this ruling is that it's NEITHER of the approaches people were originally taking. Retaliate being added to a character during your attack is still ruled to apply, even though they didn't have it at the beginning of the attack. But in this case because you defeated that character, retaliate's trigger is negated.

Not sure I ever caught this rule nuance previously, so I probably played it same as you - but the moment the clarification came up, it made sense to me. "After" in this game tends to initiate its checks late, and it doesn't care about previous boardstates. And "attack" is a long window - so in this case you didn't attack someone who started woth retaliate, but they had it by the time the attack fully resolved (which includes progressing to stage 2).

Your videos have inspired me to play more one handed lately. It’s so much faster and smoother than 2 handed. I see benefits to both play styles (I do agree you can play a lot more diverse decks two handed) but i feel that solo play is relaxing fun for me, and two handed is more ‘thinky’ with more mental overhead.
