The one thing I really like is the article said every Magneto card has the magnetic trait, so assuming your deck is 40 cards, 15 of them have the magnetic trait so there should really never be a situation where you mill half your deck.

Although it's been said many times this is the end for X Men I think licensing can also be a bit more complicated than people make it out to be. Like Beast being a good example. Not trying to OD on copium or anything but Beast has been an Avenger frequently and may even be classified as such for licensing purposes. Like famously Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were allowed to exist in concurrent movie franchises because they were Avengers and X Men and this is two companies that hated each other. They weren't working together. I'm just saying we probably shouldn't assume anything because licenses for these kinds of properties are almost always a cluster.
So … there is a chance for mystique?
@@D20Woodworking I don't assume anything. It's all possible. I think the unfortunate reality with Beast is he's been a villain for many years lately and is more closely associated with that for newer readers and only just recently got to be a hero again so it's likely FFG was just working with the paradigm that has presently existed at the time.
We can't count him out for the future.
@@dontberash I thought this too, we could still see Beast as an Avenger (possibly with a Wonder Man Team-up card?). The only thing that bugs me about that is that he would probably be "Avengers" traited and not "X-men" traited. I mean, it still bothers me that Quicksilver & Scalet Witch don't have the "Mutant" trait. Still, would rather see him than not. 😜
I may be still sad for not having Beast, but I would never expected that a Magneto hero would be something I need.
Vision is a hero that has Stalwart.
Can't wait for Noble Sacrifice to put it in Drax deck I hope it will be fire! Magneto... I need to see more cards, but hero ability is cool.
Just a quick clarification, "Noble Sacrifice" says "...the ally's PRINTED hit points...", so in your Nick Fury example you would heal 3, damage on them doesn't matter. So, you could get any ally down to 1 hit point and then, instead of chump blocking, "Noble Sacrifice" them to heal their printed health & get a tough. This is going to be clutch when battling those Villains that try to discourage chump blocking (looking at you Unus!). Definitely looking forward to the Magneto Hero pack.

Yea, to be honest. All ally (who you are going to chump) is a good option to Noble Sacrifice but if you want cheapest with lot of healing, you can play Blade.
i was initially hoping magneto would have some cool counter interactions, like a spider-ham 2.0
now i just want him to have some confuses in his kit so we can make use of the alter-ego abilities/supports without being stuck in justice

In my opinion, Magneto should be lika an capitain America. A solid hero with solid cards and good play style.
So glad it was Magneto and not Beast - Sorry Beast fans but I just can't see an interesting design space for Beast
Well, that's everything for this Cycle that FF has announced... except for a possible Scenerio Pack. Have they said anything about having one or not? They have always had one extra scenario pack for every cycle in the past, have they not (of course Deadpool was the replacement from last cycle)?
So they only do them if they have time and with onboarding Tony and I assume other stuff going on, they haven't had time. There is a shot it happens but we haven't heard anything one way or another.
So we can't play magneto v magneto or with the magneto allie right?

You haven’t mentioned how overcosted Magneto signature compared to most heroes. I am hoping his hero pack comes with actual banger like Iceman with Cryokinetik Perception. But why wouldn’t they preview cards like that first. Hrm
We just don’t know enough yet. We have seen like a third? Kinda depends what the rest is.
Considering who little Emma has shown up in the art so far I doubt she will be the other Hellfire Club member. I figure it will be Mastermind. It is weird how despite her being really popular they only put her on a couple of cards and not given her an ally card. I kinda feel they only made her Kitty’s nemesis because they felt they had too since if you ask any comic reader who Kitty’s nemesis is people would say Emma Frost
You talk about how Magneto offers interesting gameplay choices in the conclusion, but be honest: is there ever a time you're not using his hero ability to draw an extra card? (assuming there's one left in your deck) This is not an interesting choice in my opinion, just card draw with extra steps.
That, coupled with his IMO slightly overcosted and more importantly boring kit so far, has me the opposite of hyped. Although Magneto will be a top tier hero regardless because of his card draw and his inherent synergy with Dig Deep.
I found Won't Stay Down and Noble Sacrifice the more interesting reveal than Magneto himself, his cards are too unknown right now for me to have a proper opinion.

You’re assuming the next reveal will be an expansion box. What If(tm): two silhouettes revealed for 2025, followed by an expansion, followed by two silhouettes.
So for example Beast, Emma, then the FF box featuring Reed and Sue and finishing up the year with Torch and Thing.
Maybe, just maybe, another scenario pack with Silver Surfer as both villain and hero.
As for Magnito - meh, s’fine, gotta see the whole deck. I’ve learned to be neither blasé nor over enthusiastic. Very thematic so I ask again where’s my Loki deck?
There’s already a Mystique hero. Mystique can look like anyone, but can’t copy their powers. The Mystique hero is Hulk, because he’s the WORST hero when he should be the BEST!
i beat expert magneto with a hulk leadership deck that only had cards from the 1st and 2nd cycles, so...

My brother in Christ that is Rogue, Nebula, Vision, AND Storm.
All of those gain and lose it roughly per round. I should have clarified that they gain it and keep it.
@@D20Woodworking I mean, you COULD leave Storm's weather card up and never change it. And Rogue can reapply, not that you really need to.
There is this war over Beast or Magneto, but I'm just thankful we didn't get Dazzler...
