This episode is jammed packed with tips and tricks to embroidering textured Christmas stockings, a highly requested item this time of year. Willy will take you from digitizing the design to showing the final product to the customer, Julia!
He goes over two common ways to make sure your stitches pop on the furry portion of the stocking to make sure your design is crisp, clear and not lost in the nappy fabric. Using Chroma Luxe, Willy creates a nap blocker which is used around the letters to hold the furry fabric down and make the letters much more visible. He teaches you how to decide how much density to add, and the direction to make your stitches, depending on your garment and your design, to make this method work best for you.
Now if you do not have Chroma Luxe, don’t worry, Willy also shows you how to achieve the same effect on Chroma Inspire. This hack might be a little harder, but not impossible. I this method, Willy creates a complex fill stitch around the border of the whole design. Remember, this doesn't have to be perfect and you don’t have to get in between the letters, this effect with work with just a basic complex fill surrounding the entire name. But for those perfectionists out there, he shows you tricks to make this complex fill look super professional and detailed.
Over at the MT-1501 Willy shows you how to utilize the fast frames the come in our 8-in-1 device to hoop your stocking. In the first method using the complex fill from Chroma Inspire, Willy uses an adhesive stabilizer to help fasten the stocking to the frame, then places two pieces of water-soluble stabilizer on top of the embroidery area with binder clips to keep them in place. This is the most important step in this embroidery process since the stabilizer is what keeps your stitches from sinking into the nappy or furry fabric.
If you used the nap blocker with Chroma Luxe, you can hoop the stocking the same way, but the stabilizer topping is unnecessary since the nap blocker works to keep the fur down and your stitches from sinking into the stocking.
There you have it, the perfect Christmas stocking! Everyone here at Ricoma wishes all our subscribers a very Merry Christmas!

Very cute stockings! I prefer the ones with the knockdown stitch for fur because you can see the letters better.
