    Very professional presentation, very well done. I suspected a PCB fault with our BEKO as my wife has been reporting all kinds of problems with our´s, which is only a few years old. Just spent all evening on it, had half the thing in bits (not 100% true, just felt like it!) and put it back together, few more questions directed at wife, and then i looked at the supply water tap. It was almost totally shut off!! Now it´s getting plenty of water through it seems to be working like new!! Oh how we both laughed! Well, she did!!

      +bigwivit Thanks for the comments, It's surprising how often little things can cause major problems and that is why we put together our diagnosis videos to help identify the causes. Glad you sorted it all out, may we suggest some other very useful video for most people to watch:

    Sir... After messing with my Blomberg Dishwasher for 3 or 4 days, I stumbled on to your video.
    It all started with a drainage problem... I believe my daughter may have put a plate in without properly scraping whatever food into the compost bowl. The Drain hose had about four inches of the fruit and vegetable section sitting at the end. Easy Fix!!
    put it all back together turned it on... and No Water!
    For me this was too much of a coincidence that a drain problem turned into a water solenoid issue.
    Completely FLUSTERED!! I started looking around the Web for some kind of help.
    A ton of useless videos out there. or mostly for the older style machines with the Float Valve in the tank.
    I decided to watch your whole video as this machine is more modern... at about the 7:25 mark you said it! Expect about a 20 second delay before the water starts to flow!
    I wasn't waiting!!! Starting it... No Water... Stopping it.
    I literally took my machine apart about ten times!!! Tested everything Twice!
    All that to say... Thanks!
    Jeff D in Montreal.

    Thanks once again for the advice. I've double checked the drain pump resistance, its reading 223 ohms. All of the pipes, as far as I can tell, are clear of debris, and my machine doesn't have a non return flap. I can't see anything that resembles any sort of mechanical timer. Would I be right in thinking that the timer is part of the PCB? If so, is there any way of testing it? Also, is there anything else that I should be looking out for? Many thanks.

    Quite advisable to check continuity in the neutral on the supply flex also as a neutral fault will also cause it to be none responsive !

    Great video thankyou! I have the same make dishwasher Gorenje GV62110. And the programme button has stopped working.....LED lights flash once when powering on then remain off, the power button remains on. The prog. button clicks when pressed as normal, have gone through troubleshooting, opened up the control panel; the covering over the wires did feel damp, but that's all I could see. Have bought a multimeter today to attempt to investigate further.

    • @MissMochynbach
      @MissMochynbach 9 лет назад

      So, I've done the tests as in your video and have concluded that the control board needs replacing. Are you able to tell me whether there is any need to 'programme' the replacement board on this model? : Gorenje GV62110, thanks. Great videos on your channel by the way, a great help.

    Great tutorial. Can you say something about the so called AquaStop ? How they work etc.
    Seems to be an UK Plug / Machine / Setup. In Switzerland we don't have the fuses within the plugs, instead they are built in the device itself most of the time.

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  9 лет назад

      1videoshow On some 'new kitchen' installations in the UK we wire the appliances in to 'wall plate connectors' and have a switch bank above the counter tops to isolate each appliance. As far as I know the wall plates or switchbank will be fused as well as fused and the house fuse board. Aqua stop hoses move the inlet valve to the tap and connect it through wires in the hose. In a cold environment (unheated utility or garage) if the temperature drops enough to freeze then even if the hose were to rupture no water would flow until the machine is turned on. Thus helping prevent flooding.

  • @rgruenhaus
    @rgruenhaus 9 лет назад +1

    aside from the British appliances and the fact that you said that a higher resistance would mean a short it was a good explanation of dishwasher operation.

    • @eSpares

      Thanks for your comments Robert, we have rechecked our transcript.
      We think you are referring to the following lines, which when studied again we still believe are correct: 5:07
      Now if you do get the reading of a short circuit, try disconnecting the heater and then testing again on the plug to see if the short is gone. If the reading is much higher, that would show the short-circuit is likely to lie in the heater.
      We post this reply just to show that we do try and ensure the correct information is given and if an amendment would clarify are more than happy to add an annotation. :-)

      I only have no power to my front start/stop and time panel which was only having intermittent problems and has failed altogether now. I have power to the wash selection at the top of the door. Thanks for you're reply. I did hear you say that if a person found more resistance that that was where the short was. You might want to look at that.

    • @rgruenhaus
      @rgruenhaus 9 лет назад

      The line you talk about here is not the one I heard that is not correct

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  9 лет назад

      Robert Greenhouse Without a model we can only generalise but if you have confirmed power to the control board and will not light up it suggests the problem may be the control board but check any switch bank attached has not been contaminated from moisture or corrosion.

    Our Bosch dishwasher is tripping the electrics in the drying cycle. No error code as when the power is switched back on dishwasher returns to the initial switch on screen as if it hadn’t washed. Sometimes the water doesn’t get hot. Sometimes it does get hot. Is this likely to be the heater or the control board?

    Hi! My Bosch SGV33E13EU started by not drying the dishes a few months ago. A week ago it suddenly became completely dead. It doesn't light any of the LEDs/display or any indicator any more. I have tested the switch and seems to let voltage in when toggled (220v). I observe ~125v between the big wire that seems to feed the control unit and neutral, not sure if this means anything though. My question is, considering that the control unit doesn't light at all, can I assume that it is the control unit what is dead? Or, is there any other faulty component like the heater, thermostat, pressure sensors, water sensors, etc, what could lead to the control unit not lighting at al? Many thanks!!

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  6 лет назад

      Hi J. Carlos Muro, the first thing is please do not test anything live, your dishwasher can be fully checked using a multimeter with the dishwasher disconnected. The video does show testing from the plug to the PCB and if everything else in the circuit is ok then suspect the board.

    I have a KitchenAid and only half of the control panel works. Would that be the control panel? The lights on the left-used to select the cycle work, but the lights on the right do not light up-to turn on or cancel.

    I have a Candy 9 place AAA CDI 4545 Slimline integrated dishwasher. when it is turned on it lights up for a few seconds and then it trips the fuse on my house fuse board. I have tried plugging in to a different wall socket and the same thing happens. The machine has not been used for a couple of months due to house repair problems, is there a common fault that I can check for ?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  8 лет назад +1

      +Thomas Clark If the electricity trips as soon as you plug in even if the machine is off suspect the pains filter by the cable entrance. If the power only goes off when the door is shut and the power turned on it is most likely to be a failing heater element.

    Hi, I have isuues with a whirlpool ADG7650 dishwasher. The intensive and eco cycles stop after the draining step whereas the express cycle works fine. My guess is that it's an electronic problem. What do you think?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  7 лет назад

      Likely to be a problem with the timer motor, thermostat, or heating element. You should check these for faults by using a multi-meter.

    I have a Currys essentials dishwasher, model no' CDW45W13, and only about 14 months old. The problem that I have is the 3 in 1 light blinking rapidly about 20 minutes into it's cycle, error code for low water pressure, flow meter broken, or wires to the flow meter loose. The machine then stops and bleeps constantly and doesn't drain. I've checked the drain filter, removed the drain pump and checked it for debris, checked the drain pipework for blockage, and replaced the combined flow meter and air break. It still has the same fault. Do you have any idea as to what else it could be?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  9 лет назад

      +Paul Bembridge Check the machine drains when reset as the first part of any cycle is to empty the sump. If this is OK check the heater and thermostat.

    • @paulbembridge9239
      @paulbembridge9239 9 лет назад

      +eSpares Hi and thanks for the advice. The water is hot when the the machine bleeps and stops working. The only way to empty it is to bail it out otherwise when I turn it off and then back on it just continues flashing the 3 in 1 light and bleeping at me. if I manually empty it, it works fine for 20 minutes, fills up with hot water, opens the dispenser door, runs perfectly. By resetting it. Do you mean there's some kind of reset button?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  9 лет назад

      +Paul Bembridge Every time you start a cycle the machine resets by first pumping out to remove any spillages in the machine (tea, coffee drinks).
      If you do not hear the pump run and you have checked it is not jammed measure it with a meter if it reads OK then suspect the timer.

    Hi, I have an issue with my GE Profile PDW8280J10SS Dishwasher where the heating element is not heating up to dry the dishes. I took out the heating element and it tested fine. I had purchased another heating element and i received the same test results when using the multimeter. What can be the cause of the heating element not heating up? Would it be the control module?

    • @eSpares

      The problem could either be a faulty control board or a thermostat (if fitted) in circuit with the heating element.

    When my washer starts the drain sequence starts then it starts to wash and the drying light comes on the wash light never comes on. it goes through it cycles washing and drying at the same time we have to stop it manually drain it and they give it a rinse to clean the dishes. A red light comes on under the drain/cancel button. I thought it needed a new control panel/board. I replaced it an d it does the same thing. Any ideas? It seem to drain ,fill and wash okay. It also gets pretty hot, so the heater is okay.

      @eSpares  9 лет назад

      Bowman W We are not familiar with this machine as it is not common in the UK (if available at all). The drying light is likely to be indicating the heater is on. I would expect this to remain on until the water reaches temperature then go off. Try on its coldest wash or a rinse cycle to confirm the light goes off. If it always remains on the board 'thinks' it is to cold so suspect the temperature sensor.

      +alan coyne Check there is no water in the base of the cabinet as it may have an Anti flood switch that will run the pump if this occurs.

    Hi I have beko dishwasher model dsn2532x.. And it was working g very well but two days ago my son turned on and when I turned off then I tried to make new program... The motor turned out. Even when I didn't edhe press start and nothing change till now.. All the time the motor is on and nothing change.... So what is the defect here..

      @eSpares  7 лет назад

      Hi Dina, If the motor is running all the time it may be the pump that is draining because there is water in the base, check the base for water and look at the hoses for any leaks.

      It was some water before in the bottom but it drained slowly.. Also I opened the draining hole and I checked for any thing stuck but I didn't... What I am afraid of is that what can be stuck in the tube which inside for draining... Coz it's in the process of draining before steaming and doesn't move

      Hi Dina, you will need to establish the reason why it is not draining, check for a blockage and test the drain pump to ensure it has not failed. We also have a video that will help ruclips.net/video/M0W9pzBZ-DI/видео.html just copy and paste into your browser.

    my dishwasher pump ok not getting voltage so motherboard annoying because works fine except doesn't drain

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  7 лет назад

      That's unusual as the boards do not often fail even if the pump gets blocked. May be worth checking there is no debris in the pump chamber before replacing the board.

    my dishwasher shows error code e17

    Fixed it. After all of that, guess what it was? There was a blockage of fat in the waste pipe that the dishwasher feeds into. That was causing enough back pressure to stall the pump. Now I have a happy wife again. :)

      +Paul Bembridge Glad you sorted it, now the tricky bit. While you are in the wife's good books you need to point out the fat that stopped the machine was likely caused by pouring waste from grill and frying pans down the drain. This can cause blockages anywhere along the sewers as well as in the house.

      +eSpares I figured that one out and I also read her the riot act over it. Mainly due to the fact that it cost me £30 for a flow meter that I didn't need.

      Re: Fixed it. Problem was unit would not drain as there was a blockage of fat in the waste pipe that the dishwasher feeds into on a 14-month old Currys essentials dishwasher, model no' CDW45W13.
      Thanks, and was this on a NEW install... or was Curry's CDW45W13 replacing a dishwasher that had come out previously?
      (If not a replacement... pipes had some age on them, hence the blockage, right?)
